We recently 10-9-10 had our annual girls weekend in Brown County....only this time when we went to the Pine Room we had a REALLY BAD experience. JEFF - the bartender was about the rudest, nastiest, person I have ever met in my life, and made our visit this time at the Pine Room our LAST visit ever to this establishment. When we went in and found our table (5 of us) he walked over to the table and I asked him where the pool tables were..he said they had been gone for over a year and I asked him why and he said in a very smart@ss way "well its increased our business by 4000 percent"....ok I am still fine at this point, he obviously didnt like the pool tables, whatever. We started ordering our drinks - the first request was Coors, at which he responded "we are out of Coors, we are only selling real beer now"! Whoa - he has an attitude. I ordered an Upland Wheat and so did two others in our group. He then asked me if I wanted bottle or draft, I told him draft. Our drinks came out and my draft was NOT an Upland Wheat, ok no big deal. I stopped a waitress that walked by and told her this was not what I ordered, she said ok and took it from the table. JEFF proceeded back to our table and had an Upland Wheat in the bottle AND the original draft that I sent back because it was wrong. He then proceeded to tell me I could have either one, but it doesnt make a difference becuase I was going to pay for the first drink regardless because that is what I had ordered.....I believe I thought he was joking at first, but then realized he wasnt......just to not cause a scene one of the girls in our party said "I will drink it". Once JEFF left our table we all looked at each other like we had just been beaten! We asked for our check the next time he walked by since we decided we were NOT staying here and giving them one more dime - his response was "Absolutely".....WOW he should NOT be in the service industry. I almost wondered if this was a "local" only place and we were not welcomed! Once we had exact change on the table I left JEFF a little note on the receipt, he actually saw me doing this and said "oh, are you writing me a note".......there are no words to describe just how bad of an experience this was! I would not recommend anyone ever going to this place for food, drink, a warm place to sit, etc. etc. . . if you want good food and good service then go to the Brown County Inn, the Ordinary, or the Seasons!!! I would also certainly hope that JEFF finds a new occupation because he is deffinitely NOT happy at this one!

We really love what the Pine Room Tavern has become. Have lived in the area for over 30 years and weve seen the Pine Room go through two locations and multiple owners. It went from a small town local tavern with good folks of all types to a smoky,wanna-be-biker-bar with a lot of rude behavior from clients and staff and was not a place youd want to take anyone you like. NOT ANYMORE!!! This place has undergone quite a transformation over the last year or so and is now the jewel of the area. Fantastic young, creative and upbeat staff, creative entrees and sandwiches and a very large beer list with several on tap that you can try tastes of. Though we are not wine drinkers, our friends who are rave about their great wine selection and prices. We now (since mid summer) have been going once a week and have not had one bad meal or bad experience there. Weve not seen or heard of anyone going there and being unhappy except some former regulars who wish it was still a dive. There are plenty of dives for drinking and smoking but only one Pine Room! Favorites: Shrimp Linquini, Reuben Sandwich (Home Made Brisket), Scallops, Amish Chicken, Burgers (everyone we know raves about them, but weve actually yet to try a burger as they always have some entree special that tempts us instead!

I was also a part of that group from 10/9/10 and it was truly the worst experience Ive ever had at a restaurant EVER!! For years weve been going to Brown County for our annual trip and we have ALWAYS spent time at the Pine Room and we have always had an awesome time. HOWEVER - not ever again will I ever spend one more dime at the Pine Room. Jeff was rude, obnoxious and downright a disgrace to have working at the Pine Room. I understand there is new management, but they did not complete their due diligence on their wait staff. Truly a horrible experience. Im embarrased for the entire Nashville community that they have someone that rude representing them in a customer service establishment. I agree - JEFF SHOULD NOT BE IN A CUSTOMER SERVICE INDUSTRY. Thank goodness the BCI, The Ordinary or The Seasons have never treated us that way. We will continue our annual trips to Brown County, but that is the last time our group will ever go to the Pine Room.

I give this spot one star because the food has always been decent and they have a good beer selection for a small town. I used to frequent this restaurant. It was a place I could count on for reasonably priced eats anytime I was Nashville. Last fall my spouse and I experienced some of the worst wait service Ive ever come across. Enough so that it was obvious they didnt need anymore of our business. We reluctantly stopped in this evening for dinner around 10pm because it was the only place open aside from McDonalds. All of the lights were on and two men were at the bar drinking but the doors were locked. A gentleman came to the door to peak his head out and inform us they had decided to close early (the posted hours say the are open until midnight). Needless to say, it was another disappointing experience at the Pine Room and I would certainly not recommend this place to anyone who has any expectations for even decent service.

Came to Brown County for a friends 30th birthday girls weekend. After reading reviews I thought this was the place to go. There were 9 of us and as we walked in eveeyone including the bartender gave us an awkward stare. There was one other group there maybe about 7 people. The bartender put a table together and we sat down. After 15 mins (not exaggerating) we still hadnt been greeted. I was frustrated that the server was taking care of patrons sitting at the bar that came in after us that I went to the bar and got our table pitchers of water and glasses. Finally our order was taken. No apologies, no accommodations for the terrible service. My chicken salad was terribly bland but the rosemary garlic fries were good. I felt like I disappointed my friends for recommending this place..and never back again:-(

We ate in the back half of the location in the Muddy Boots Cafe because the tavern part was a bit too noisy for us even at 2pm when we went post the annual Chocolate Walk in Nashville. The food was very tasty -- my hubby had the PULLED PORK BBQ and I had the REVEREND PEYTONS BIG DAMN SAMMY. Given that we went a bit later than normal lunch time I forgive a bit of the attention of the servers though they did seem to have three of them working and only three other tables with customers. Of course, there isnt a lot of room for folks back there. Perhaps 20 or so people in all. The bathrooms are nearby and there are two pool tables that you can use if you get the balls and cues from the front. Overall it was a new restaurant for us and one we would go back to again.
