WONDERFUL mom & pop type bakery, hidden in a very plain building. You walk in and are overwhelmed by the aromas & the choices! Varied flavors of fudge-donuts to die for-great cookies, eclairs, cannoli, everything youd ever want to see AND taste in a bakery! Great & efficient staff, very friendly, even during the busiest of hours. In the bakery section are collectibles for people like me. Great selection of small crystal items, Hummel figurines, & the Egyptian teardrop perfume bottles that I collect, as well as some unique items of jewelry. The other half of the small building is dedicated to wedding cakes & all that goes with them. Quite impressive! I just want to jump headfirst & mouth wide open into the huge wedding cake on display! Interesting side note-the minute you exit your car, you hear BIRDS singing, even on snowy winter days. The sound is coming from a billboard right by the store & is enuff to make a grinch smile! Hoping that those of you who have never tried this bakery will check it out-youll be HOOKED too! Northeast side of 10th St just east of the intersection of 10th & Shadeland.

What is the ultimate measure of a bakery? Their glazed yeast donuts. And I must say that Harts Bakery is definitely up there. They are possibly the lightest and fluffiest donuts in Indy. Though they cannot top Longs Donuts in my book; they are missing that little extra sweetness in the glaze. I also ordered their last long john (on a Saturday around 9am), but to my dismay there was no filling. Next time I will be more specific to request a filled donut, and their absolutely will be a next time because they had some amazing fudge flavors calling my name. If your measure of a bakery includes the presence of a police officer, then your in luck also, because there was one ordering 3 dozen glazed who even held the door for me!

This is a very affordable and professional bakery. I used them to bake my wedding cake and they made the whole process very comforting and reassuring. I chose red velvet, and white cake and I used a waterfall stand which was by the way beautiful. They decorated it to my liking and the deposit was affordable as well. They deliver the cake to the location and setup everything so after you choose and pay, they take care of the rest. Definitely highly recommended.

Gross if you grew up on Longs Bakery. I had their toffee cookies, Mexican wedding cookies, with a mixed bag of chocolate and lemon covered pretzels. The toffee cookies and the pretzels were stale as the girls demeanor who rang me up. The pretzels taste like cardboard dipped in crap. The feeling of infidelity and guilt consumed me after experiencing those tasteless treats they call cookies, Ill never cheat on Longs Bakery again!!!

Harts has amazing donuts! I just had my wedding on Saturday and purchased my cake from Harts. They were easy to work with, very affordable and all the guest said the cake tasted wonderful. Unlike many other wedding cake makers, Harts makes their products fresh rather then pre-making the cake days in advance and freezing it. I would highly recommend them.

Do yourself a favor and try an apple fritter. You should call ahead to order one, theyll make it fresh and have it ready for you...since theyre not a mega chain they dont keep dozens of these things sitting around. Also, the glazed donuts are fantastic, especially if youre there when they come out of the oven. Great service, great baked goods.

A great bakery with allot of variety, their baked goods are made fresh daily.. nothing is frozen & all handmade. My first visit was a really good experience. I told the the lady that it was my first visit & she welcomed me & made me a bag of things to try. The toffee cookies are to die for & they make their own toffee Yum!

Neighborhood bakery that has been around for over 50 years. Family owned and operated, one of the few women-owned bakeries. Great for donuts, cakes, cookies, and other treats. An East side location loved and supported by locals. Closed on Sundays.

They made a cake for a baby shower and it was supposed to be beautiful dream catcher on a teal blue cake and the cake was dry and icing was cracking on the cake.And to top it off the cake was leaning and you could see all the layers.

Small little ma and pa shop. Came in for the lemon bars which didnt not taste like lemon. I also grabbed some toffee cookies that did not taste like toffee and were hard. Their chocolate butter pecan cookie bites were the jam!!

Honey bars with icing are my favs but donuts, bread n cookies are my regular fare. Crown bread n buns we cut in half for sandwiches are in childhood memories! Yum. Family run business, u should become a regular!

Always a delight working with Hart. The workers are very polite and attentive. Every cake we have ordered has been delicious and exactly the way we want it. Its the only place we go for cakes anymore. Keep it up!

Ive been going to Harts for at least 10 years. The closest I ever came to disappointment is when they had ran out of chocolate iced bars (long johns). Go early people, go early!
