Just left this store irritated at how rude and unprofessional these two girls were who were working at the customer service desk. One of them looked directly at me while I stood next in line, and instead of offering to help me she proceeds to cackle to her coworker about where shes taking her kids to go trick or treating. The other girl answers the store phone after I walk up to her and decides to talk and laugh to with whoever is on the phone, apparently she knew the person. The other girl still hasnt offered to help me at this point. So I went ahead and let em know how rude they were and if they hadnt been hee hee and haw hawin, chit chattin about nothing the line wouldnt have gotten as long as it did. Told them theyre customer service is wack. Thats why I prefer the Carmel Meijer.

Moved to the NW side recently, and I still prefer to drive 20 minutes out of the way to my hometown of Plainfield (or even Avon) to shop at that Meijer instead. Id be back home in better time than if I had gone to the Meijer off 38th & Pike Plaza. Prime time grocery shopping on a Saturday afternoon and there might be three registers open (if Im lucky). And you know everyone is doing some moderate grocery shopping on that day, unable to use the self-checkout lanes. I switched to the Marsh supermarket near my house, but its just as bad, if not worse: higher prices AND only two lanes open at any given time. Dry grocery shopping with Amazon Prime Pantry is the way to go. Then shopping for only refrigerated items at the grocery store, so you can go through self-checkout.

I found the prices to be comparable to other such stores. (This one is on pike plaza). But was extremely disappointed in the staff. Upon entry to the store the first thing I hear is a rant of "mother Frs" did this" and "Mother Frs said that" I look expecting to see a customer. Instead its workers at the door talking about their managers. As I was exiting the same group 25 mins later are still cussing up a storm about the same manager. Stor was clean but you need to work on your peoples customer expectation of a Family environment. These ppl were not teens either. The girl whom was cussing the most claimed to have spent a Year in the Marines. Im sure I know why she got Booted!! Especially after seeing how she handles herself in public!

They almost always have what I want, sure the staff are sparse, but the checkout people are efficient and attentive. The real plus is that its not CRAZY crowded in perpetuity like Walmart and that it is open all night (the walmart up the street, inexplicably, is not). This meijer gets busy right after work, on the first of the month and before holidays, but is usually ok the rest of the time. Im a night owl and when I go into a place like this after 10pm I expect to be able to do a full shopping run without having to say "excuse me" 50+ times. I dont want to weave my way through throngs of people who all appear to be having absent seizures, staring blankly, never moving and on the verge of drooling on themselves. Its a pet peeve.

I was quite impressed with the simple fact that this location isnt in the best part of town. What made me sad is this location has better carts than the location I normally visit. I felt that this location was clean and didnt have that "dirty" smell to it. The layout is pretty much the same as others in the area but that shouldnt be a surprise as that tends to be the norm for big box retailers. The only thing that I noticed as a negative is the staff didnt seem all that friendly. But all in all not a bad location.

I went shopping here with my one year old daughter,l. All the checkout lines were busy so i grabbed a self checkout thinking it would be quicker. As i was scanning my groceries, Nicole O. One of the cashiers bagged all my groceries for me. It is unexpected service like that which keeps me coming back to Meijer. Thanks Nicole and thank you management for having such awesome employees

So far I liked the store. Has a huge variety of foods at fair price and personnel in the field is very helpful. Didnt wait at checkout at all (but this is Sunday). One negative experience — cashier was not able to educate me on the rewards program so I had to google myself. Will check the store during weekday evenings and give it five star if its as good as on the weekend.

The store manager (Andre) is a joke...this is the second time Ive come in to the store inPike Plaza and witnessed him literally screaming at another employee. I actually heard him 3 aisles over and couldnt belive how disrespectful and belittling he was to this guy. If Meijer allows this kind of treatment from umanagement Im shopping at Kroger....disgusting!

Avoid in the evening!! Walked in today at 7:30pm and there were 0 cashiers!!!! Last night there were only two Cashiers in the lanes. All self checkout with huge lines. I walked out with a cart full cart because were self checking with packed carts! WTF?!?! You need more F****** cashiers!!!! Ridiculous!! Avoid at all cost in the evening fm 5-9!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent produce section and lots of variety of products at decent prices. You can always find lots on clearance throughout the store which is always welcomed. The staff was always pleasant even though it has appeared as though they could use some extra checkout help at night. This particular location is big on the utilization of self-checkout lanes.

This store is often rude but tonight is the worst. I have been standing in line for 25 minutes and no one can seem to figure out what to do with issue with the woman in front of me. 4 people have come up and still we are standing here. Self check out is closed and all lanes have at least 6 people in them. A whole new low for this store.

Can get very busy at certain times of the day. The staff are always nice and never waste your time with idle chit chat but still make you feel welcomed. They have recently done a lot of renovations and it makes it easier to get from aisle to aisle. The staff is very good at keeping their carts together and every part of the store clean.

Never have anything I need. I noticed once an items out it takes so so long before another shipment gets there and its bk on shelf. Prices are outrageous and I used to go simply Cuz Walmart on Lafayette Rd was ridiculous and lines were outrageous but everyone must of caught on and done the same Cuz now im always in line for 10 min

Very very slow. Waited in 2 different lanes with at least 2-3 people in line ahead of me. Waited for over 10 minutes in line & line didnt move. Was sent to customer service to wait in line again. Cashier at lane 11 had no clue what she was doing. Had to have manager come help her 3 different times. This was a Thursday morning.

To be honest I never have a good experience at this location, but its incredibly convenient and does have good prices. This time was different. Pamela at checkout is by far the best cashier I have ever seen. She was quick and so friendly. I will intentionally go to her line on my future visits.
