My husband and I have been going there for years. it was one of my favorite restaurants. Well, I am sorry to say that this isn't the case anymore. We went there tonite for dinner. We sat in one of the few booths that they have there. The first thing we both noticed almost together was how dirty and dingy it was! The carpet was absolutely filthy!! You could actually see a dark black mark in the aisle leading from the greeters desk to the kitchen. I ordered the same thing I have always ordered, The breaded Pork Tenderloin instead of the dumplings this time I made the mistake and ordered the mashed potatoes. INSTANT! Ugh! The breading on the tenderloin was overcooked, dry and not very tasty. My husband had the Roast Pork and Smoked Butt Combo plate. he said the meat was good, but he thought the dumplings were prepackaged and not very good as were the carrots he was served. He said they tasted tinny, like they were canned. The soft serve vanilla "ice cream" we both had tasted like chemicals and I couldn't eat it. What a sad disappointment. You would think that with the way the economy is today, and many restaurants are crying out for customers, that this establishment would clean up their act! I seriously doubt if we will be going back.

I have eaten here Multiple times and always have the ribs. They are Very good, but today we went and I again ordered the ribs, The ribs were PINK. So I returned the meal to the waitress and within 5 min she brought another rib dinner to the table which also were Pink. I returned them.I informed her that I was sorry but I could not eat pink pork. Also I ordered cottage cheese which came to the table Runny and Warm. They did bring another dish which was Cold this time. I did Not eat anything else there. My friend also had ribs which were Cooked Correctly not pink. The Owner came to the table and asked what was wrong with the ribs I informed her the ribs were Not cooked and were Pink. She was extremely Rude and informed me that they DO NOT SELL PINK Ribs. I found this rather rude from an owner. I do not know if I will eat there ever again.

This is One of the best restaurants in the south western suburbs. The owners Ilona & Jerry are there daily, and usually greet you at the door. They have a very loyal following, including me, and the store where I work which is a block away. This place is crowded every day. The food here is home made, hot, fresh, and great bang for buck! The lunch special "half & half" (highly recommend)?is a crispy pork schnitzel thing, pork tenderloin that breaks apart with a fork, cabbage with caraway seeds and potatoes split pea soup, and klochki.. I could eat it every day. I love this restaurant, all the employees, and feeling I get while eating there. 5 stars!! Thank you Ilona & Jerry for always remembering who I am when I call in.. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

This place is not the same as it used to be by far. My family has had dozens of large lunches and dinners here over the last 15 or 20 years and the only thing I feel about it is nostalgia . The food is slipping down a penny pinching slope and the party costs are going crazy . They wanted 12.50 a head for drinks, for the adults it makes sense, but they make up for it by charging the youngsters the same 12.50 for flat coke and water. They wouldnt even serve us pitchers for one table despite the fact that the other party received a cart full of coke pitchers. Maybe they were more important than we were. So dear bohemian crystal, this is the last time you overcharge my grandmother and our family, our kitchen will outshine your service any day.

Saturday January 30, 2016 - 6PM: The place was packed. We were seated after 15 minutes. The waitress rushed us and said she didnt have time to wait for our order because she was busy, so "Hurry with your order.". The food arrived hot and was good. Thats why I gave it 2 stars. I went to the washroom, Mens, and it was a disaster. Not exaggerating. Most of the floor had a pool of water around the urinals. One toilet was constantly overflowing and the last stall had feces smeared all over the toilet. I left the bathroom and told the guy at the front desk. He said "OK". All I could think about was "How are the employees doing their business and washing their hands before preparing my meal?" I wont be going back for a long time.

It is always a long haul for us to go here but believe me, its worth it. Especially considering that several similar restaurants that were located around Berwyn are no longer there, what with a changing demographic. RIVERSIDE is really the only remaining decent Bohemian style restaurant, but overall, it falls just a little short of Bohemian Crystal, except for the great fresh home made breads and deserts. Been going to BC for many years now, since the owners moved from Berwyn. Always first rate including a nice staff of friendly ladies tending to customers needs. An excellent place for seniors and handicapped. Also great for parties at reasonable prices.

Found a listing here on line for Bohemian Crystal. I had a taste for a little ethnic food. I called ahead to inquire about the wait and I was told it was at 20 min. I rushed over there from Carol Stream. When I got there I told them I had a party of 6 within 5 mininutes they were seating us. We ordered the family style meal with Roast Chicken, Roast Beef and Roast Duck. It was a treat from the soup to the dessert. The food was very good just what I expected. The Crystal is a jewel. You can be sure Ill be back.

I was born and raised in the Czech Republic and felt ashamed how they present the Czech culture and Cruisine. The food could be better, I feel whenever I go there they are always out of what I want. The decor is not that authentic it could be renewed from its 80s style. The staff is nice and I see how they are trying by making them wear krojs but I find it a slight disappointment that most of the staff doesnt speak Czech. Visit Klas if you want to have REAL Czech food.

You must try the stuffed chicken breast. Stuffed with spinach and carrots. It is devine. A bit on the pricey side, but definitely worth it. The staff is simply amazing. I watched them as they cleaned and plated the table behind us in less than 60 seconds. They do their jobs well and they seem to really enjoy it too. I will definitely be going back!!!

Used to be Excellent but not anymore. They claim to be open to 830pm but they NEVER are and always close early. If you go, get there by 7pm or just dont go because they will turn you away even before 8pm. Prices are high for a Czech restaurant in this area vs the food quality. A much better bet is the Riverside on Harlem Avenue south of Ogden Av.

My family loves this type of food. Its not particularly my favorite, but what I have had is good. The restaurant feels very "home-y", like youre having dinner at grandmas house. It can get crowded, and there are limited parking spaces near the door, so elderly diners may need to be dropped off before parking.
