They call their Cheesy Beef “famous” so my husband and I both had to give it a try. We also ordered the fries. The beef sandwiches were really good. Not dry and very tasty – we liked it a lot. The bread they used tasted really fresh – not like 3-day-old bread they’ve had out for a while. I was not a big fan of the French fries, but that’s just personal preference since I normally don’t like fries with the skin on. Know before you go: The menu is really small – Just the beef sandwiches, burger, chicken sandwich, grilled cheese, hot dogs and a salad. I like that they keep is small though. Try the beef – it’s what they are good at.

The best Italian beef place, hands down. Miles ahead of both Portillos AND Buona beef locally. The Italian beef are drenched with juice and fat; this place isnt for the health conscious at all! The French fries are, unfortunately, on the soggy side. The chicken sandwich is also a miss! They seem to do, what they are only supposed to do right, and thats Italian beef. Get the garlic bunned one with your choice of hot or sweet peppers and provolone cheese. They usually have tons of great buy one get one free coupons and usually a Groupon too!

Loved this place until I had a customer service issue with them. Just visited and had a coupon that say redeemable via a phone app by showing the server/attendant. After placing my order is was told the coupon needed to be printed to use it. I the said ok, do you have any other coupons I can use? Theyre answer was no... This was after the guy ordering in front of me had a "bulk" coupon that he used. Where is the customer service to offer up a solution instead of just "no". Especially after seeing a couple used that was mass produced.

Cheesy garlic beef is the only way to go. Begins snobbery talk: I consider myself somewhat of a beef connoisseur, and this beef is the best that Ive ever had. Granted, there are a few others not far behind. Ill switch it up with hot, sweet, and no peppers based on my preference of that day. Everything at the Beef Shack is so good that I would never consider using a coupon; anything you can order is well worth its full price. Lastly, the customer service is second only to the wonderful flavors.

I went to beef shack last week and it was a horrible experience. I ordered a cheesy garlic beef and my sandwhich came out with no garlic bread and almost no cheese at all. I told the manager Reggie i believe his name was and he told me that is how they came and if i wanted another one i would have to pay. Horrible customer service and very rude. Lastly when i was walking out i smelled weed and saw 2 employees smoking behind the dumpster. Horrible buisness never going back again

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! manager with the forearm tattoo is very rude. they made a mistake and instead of apologizing or even sounding 1% apologetic they blew the situation out of proportion. i had one good experience in there and the return wasnt too pleasent not sure i would go again. PS- DONT USE COUPONS THEY WILL ACT LIKE ITS COMING OUT OF THERE POCKET AND MAKE A BIG DEAL OF IT. like please dont send me them in the mail if its a problem?

OMG!!! This place has the most amazing Beefs around!!! We go from Cary into St. Charles or Hoffman Estates when we have a taste for a good beef. If they were near Portillos they would totally put them to shame. These are made to order right down to the rare beef that doesnt sit in the ajus all day. And fresh cut fries are also amazing. Wish we had one closer but will still travel to either location. So worth the drive!

Good place for Italian beef! I have been here a few times and the food has always been good. The environment I would describe as a step up from a regular fast food restaurant. The staff was friendly and the food came out fast. I would recommend the Italian Beef with hot peppers and cheese, with a nice side of cheese fries. Also I got cheesy bread for a party once and that was also very good.

They dont even deserve the one star. First of all the customer service is terrible theyre all rude. Their one manager pako is very perverted. They arent clean at all they use the same gloves for everything they do. They act very cheap and when I walked outside some of them were smoking cigarettes and some were smoking weed it was terrible! This place needs to be shut down.

I LOVE this place dearly in my heart. It means a lot to me as a place to eat. The food is ridiculously greasy, but thats what you look for in Italian Beef. The workers have actually engaged me and talked to me about how they make the food. I cannot tell you enough how wonderful of a restaurant this is. Fully support anyone visiting.

Nice to have a good beef joint in the neighborhood! Liimted menu, but it hits all the regulars -- hot dogs, gyros, beefs and a chopped salad. Limited seating and not all that comfy with nothing bar backless bar stools and tables. But its easy enough to get it and go home... Great beef, nice giardinera!

Great beef sandwiches, met the owner the first time I was there. He was generous and down to earth. What really matters is the food. The cheesy beef on garlic blows any beef in the area out of the water. Skip portillos and buono beef and swing right over to beef shack. Its a real gem.

The cheesy beef on garlic bread is the best Italian beef Ive had in the suburbs! I go back often to enjoy it. The staff are very quick and good, nice people as well. Portillos has nothing on this Italian beef! Gotta get the cheese though, it really makes it stand out!

This is some of the best beef in town. The Cheezy Beef has lots of cheese, and the people who work here are quite friendly. They recently added a combo, which I also like. Try the garlic option if you want a real treat. Love this place--you will too.

Absolutely the best! Oh my gosh this place is so good. Ive been here 3 times and have been highly satisfied every time. I always get the cheesy beef on garlic. The garlic bread roll has amazing flavor. The fries are delicious too. Cant wait to go back!

Best beef in town! You have to get the cheezy beef on garlic. Make sure to order it "dipped" as well for the best experience. Throw in the fresh cut fries and youve got yourself a wonderful, artery-clogging meal. Fantastic place.

I dont even like Italian beef and this is AMAZING!! My husband is obsessed with the garlic cheesy beef but I love just the cheesy beef. Even our kids like it which is awesome its hard to make everyone happy!!

This is the only place you can get a cheesy BEEF made with garlic bread. Fantastic. However, the fries are my only problem. They are soft and greasy. I prefer crisply fried fries, similar to Portillos.
