We went here because PF Changs was too overcrowded, and Im very glad for that. The layout of the restaurant is open and dimly lit, but not so dark that you cant appreciate the atmosphere, which I find as a fault in most nicer restaurants. The food was good, the beer was even better ( the Bock and the Scottish Ale were both very nice if you like malty beers), but the service blew me away. Our Servers name was Nate and although his section was full he was right there whenever we needed anything, however the reason that the service was so much better than the surrounding restaurants was because the service team at this restaurant believes in waiting on ALL customers, not just the tables that are going to tip them. Several other staff members would come by and take our finished food, ask if there was anything we needed, etc. We had an appetizer, entrees, and dessert, and everything came out quickly but evenly ( didnt get the appetizer 5 minutes before the entree like some places). Gordon Ramsay would be proud of the kitchen because everything came out exactly to order. The thing that really blew me away though came when it was time to pay the bill. I sign all of my credit cards as check id, just to see who really checks the signature. Nate came back to our table, and even though he carded me earlier for the beer, he insisted on checking my idea because the card said to do so. Nobody has ever done that to me. The level of service I got at GC made me feel like my family were the only people in the restaurant, and because it was Valentines day, that certainly wasnt the case. This is the best run restaurant Ive seen in a long time and because of their daily specials Ill definitely be coming back often. Excellent value.

Dont waste your time. Its a beautiful place but all indicators point to this place closing within a year. We were one of three tables seated and we waited almost an hour for our food. Only to be disappointed with overall delivery. Four of us ordered burgers and they were all delivered on cold stale buns. I ordered the sweet potato fries which came out charred black (no exaggeration at all) so much so when they brought me out a fresh order I was stunned at the bright vivid orange color as I truly believed some of the black was just innate. Anyway we were celebrating a birthday and at the end of all that the waitress comes over with a lack luster dessert, no candle (which I might not have mentioned had the other table behind us not received one) and says is it someones birthday? Finally to add insult to injury they charged us for the unrequested "birthday dessert"! I cant! Id bet good money theyll be gone within a year for sure.

Went here to celebrate a birthday and it was really nice. Not the biggest menu selection (once youve been 3 or 4 times, youre probably having a repeat selection). The waiter was really good, and the ambience was just right. Our food came out surprisingly fast, even the appetizers. Went on a Thursday night and the parking lot was deceptively full, because the restaurant was sparse with patrons. We had the mac & cheese and meatloaf. Both were very good (except for way too much onion on the meatloaf) and there was plenty leftover for us to take some home. The only disappointment was their popular Flying Monkey cocktail: 70% ice and 30% watered down drink. We tasted NO alcohol at all. Overall, this is a GREAT alternative to Coopers Hawk, if you dont want to spend the money or wait to be seated.

In-laws live down the road, so the convenience factor comes into play, as do great coupons & specials, that keep drawing us back...but this place is 0-4 over the past 9 months. 0-4 for not screwing up an order (forgotten appetizer, forgotten beer, wrong entrees, cold food, you name it!). The kitchen & service are laughable. No one runs food...the service & kitchen, even when the restaurant isnt busy, is perpetually in the weeds, & simple orders seem to be impossible to fulfill.... however, management is always available to compensate the diner for the kitchens inadequacies. Would give 1 star, but food is good, & many of their custom microbrews are excellent. That being said...dont expect food or drink to be accurate or timely.

I made reservations at Granite City for last Friday night because I invited the new VP of our company and his wife for dinner with my wife and me. I just wanted to say the Manager was very nice and professional when I asked for special accommodations for my wife due to a recent foot surgery. The entire night was great the service was exceptional and the new VP was very impressed. He and his wife relocated from Costa Rica and are renting an apartment very close to your establishment and many times during dinner he stated he will be back because of the atmosphere, food and service. So thank you to the managers, staff and all that made this a great dinner.

Wish I could give 0 stars!!! Had to wait 15 minutes for them to clean of tables to be seated. Ordered Mahi tacos and BBQ pulled pork nachos. The tacos looked like they threw them together and the fish wasnt in nice bite size chunks, it was all one piece. The "pulled pork" nachos had 3 medium size chunks of pork on a mountain of chips. Oh, the waitress only brought my husband and I 1 set of silverware and napkin which we had to share the whole time. And the real nail in the coffin was when I went to change my 10 month old son in the restroom and there was BLOOD on the wall. BLOOD!!!??? Needled to say I will absolutely NEVER return here!!!

First off 25 Oz glasses of there micro brew at a very good price. This keeps me coming back. I havent sat at a table in the place in over 2 years. The bar is the place to sit here. Service is never a problem when you sit a a bar and your glass never stays empty for long. Plus you can watch tv. I love that they brew bock beer year round as it is one of there staples. The food here is a step above bar food and one of the best chain food places in the area. Understand its good chain foods. Get the bread sticks if you go here. The cheese sauce is out of this world good.

I have to say from the time we walked in, to the time we left, it wasnt a great experience. The appetizers were cold, and when we told them about it, instead of replacing it, they reheated it and brought it back out. Really,... other people in my party complained of food being cold. In the Two hours we were there, we only saw our server once.. We had to catch other servers walking by.. just to get our server to bring container and bill.. no one in our party finished their meal.. except one, and that was an appetizer.. Thanks but no thanks!!

Called ahead for seating and was told 20 mins. When we got there we were told another 20 mins but we waited over an hour total. We talked to the manager and he told us how there were 2 big parties taking up a lot of space and he was doing his best to get us seated. The food and beer was great for the price and he did comp our appetizer. Our server was great and so was the manager. We may have just picked the wrong night to try it out.
