I was surprise the bread was cold and it is Greek restaurant and olive oil wasnt given to us.However I told my friend to order one of those entrees and we never got any soup or salad to chose like other restoraunt or plases we went in past.My whole fish-Bass-$22.5 was ok/no salad/but my friend gyros what was $14.5 came dry with dry not fresh pita and tzatziki sos without ANY fries or potato or anything else!I have to give to her a little bit of my vegetables to have something to eat with For gyros costing $14.5 we expected a little bit more.House wine was $6 and red wine was having a strong barrel taste.!My friend said her meal was no good with no taste and dry.We pack to take home for my dog!It a little bit to pricey for a dog food! Women restroom didnt have any soap in it!!!I am only imagine how their employees washing their hands.!!Realy disapointed!!I was here before and it was different-Better than now!The truth is I will never come again!

Went for lunch with three others. I had the vegetarian plate and they had chicken souvlaki sandwiches. I cant speak directly to theirs, though I was told that they were pretty bland and just generally not great. Mine was extremely disappointing. Canned beans with seasoning, mushy vegetables, tasteless spanikopita. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that it was microwaved and probably cooked at least two days before, left in the fridge to get mushy and lose whatever flavor it may have had. Even the rice wasnt fresh, but almost certainly reheated. The staff was perfectly reasonable, though the atmosphere was very strange. The music was turned up quite loud and we listened to a whole album of Trans Siberian Orchestra. It was like the soundtrack to a flamboyant figure skating routine. I hoped for much better and wont be returning.

We stopped for lunch after a walking tour of Oak Park, and had a nice meal for a good price, on their patio. We were still window-shopping for a place to dine when the waiter greeted us, and motioned to an open table. We couldnt resist. Their lemon rice soup was the highlight for me (extra lemony). They carry the regular (i.e. pedestrian) selection of beer, but also have a surprisingly good selection of craft brews. Their patio was clean and pleasant, with potted and fresh cut flowers, and the interior seemed warm and welcoming, and also had fresh cut flowers. The mens washroom was likely recently renovated, and was immaculate.

I will never go here again. The food was terrible, it had no taste. It took the waiter 10 minutes to get us water. That was after he brought us our saganaki and bread. We finally had to ask the hostess for water. Our waiter was very hurried and when he brought our food he would just throw the plates on the table. The food is over priced for the quality. Next time I will drive 15 minutes further and go to Greek Town. Also, how do you order a lamb dish in a Greek restaurant and they are out of it on a Saturday night?

Right from the start we felt very welcomed by the owner. We had a pleasant dinner outside, dont think i have ever been to a restuarant where they make feel as though ur part of the family or theyve known u for years. The food was excellent !!! Will be coming here again and again. Also at the end it was a nice gesture from the owner to come by talk to my daughter and ask me if it was okay he gave her a piece of chocolate cake on his behalf. She was thrilled ! Thanks for such food and service!!!

One of the things I miss since moving to Kingman, AZ is Greek food. I recently visited a friend in Riverside, Illinois, who took me to PapaSpiros in Oak Park, Illinois. Now, I REALLY miss Greek food again since it was awesome! Our waiter, Louis (or Lewis - dont know how he spells his name) was amazing and the food was incredible - we felt like princesses. I had the gyro plate and we shared the flaming Greek cheese - my mouth waters just thinking about the food.

The evening started with a warm greeting, followed promptly with delicious sesame crusted bread. The calamari appetizer we ordered arrived very quickly - cooked to a perfect tender. Our entrees - Dolmatas and Mousaka - were just as well executed. Fabulous coffee and classic Greek desserts brought a sweet end to the evening. Go here! Youll love it.

I would not tell any one to eat at this place. we experienced a roach come from our bread basket and when we asked the waiter to cancel the orders he asked why, I showed him the roach I killed on the table he responded with "it probably fell from the ceiling" like omg. are you for real.! not a good place to take your spouse to impress her.

Great service, very pleasant dining room, menu is excellent, and the food is very authentic Greek. Definitely worth repeated visits, and we will tell all of our friends about it as well. We live in Lake Villa, Illinois, but traveling to Oak Park to dine at PapaSpiros Greek Taverna is well worth the trip.

Not enough good words to say about this place. Ive been coming with family since I was a kid, now Im an adult bringing my own kids. We all know how picky kids are with food, but my 5 and 9 year old request going to Papaspiros! Try the saganaki!

Great food. This is third time we came in 2 months. The two owners are very nice. They have succeeded in creating a place with close to Greece taste. Best greek salad in Chicago. Now also a great live band every Sunday evening. You will enjoy.

I ate here a while back and there was a dead fly in the bottom of the olive oil at the table. When we showed the waiter he seem very disinterested and was not apologetic at all. I would recommend seeking Greek food elsewhere.

I personally only like Gyros in the Greek line of food. This is not the place for that. More of a "be seen" type of eating establishment. I ask you..if you cannot do Gyros decent how can you call yourself a Greek resto?

This is local to where we live and a good choice for Greek / Mediterranean food. The guys that own the place are great and always happy to sit and have a glass of wine. Food is pretty much exactly what you would expect.
