Pioneer Tap has become my go to bar in forest park . The place has a lot of dive appeal, the bartenders will remember you, most of the patrons are regulars (and they are generally pretty cool... havent seen one fight break out), they have darts/pool/golden tee and etc..., okay beer selection, and an area dedicated to live music. Dont go in anticipating that this a hot spot, but this place is definitely a decent time to sit on a barstool and do some 12 oz curls.

Pioneer Tap is a great alternative to the other bars farther south on Madison in Forest Park. It has been recently redone and there was plenty of attention to detail. I love the friendly, low-key vibe, and the bartenders and owner are amazing! Good selection of beers on tap and lots of daily specials.

An unpretentious neighborhood bar. Its nothing fancy. You wont see beautiful people here, just average peeps looking for a drink or several. Theyve got live music, a pool table, juke box of sorts and darts. A local dive but a decent one at that.
