This is a place if you want to eat like it was 1972. Liverwurst Sandwiches, iceburg lettuce salads and slices of beats to garnish your dinner - yes a lost era. having grown up 1 block away. Taking walks there on sunday morning for fresh bagels - yummy. Still the same people work there today (some 40 years later). The best reubens in the area. My Grandpa and his friends would meet there for morning coffee back in the late 60s, early 70s. Also, a great place to shop for jewish delicacies, lunch meat and of course bagels.

Just tried grabbing lunch at 1:30pm, they close at 2. Walked up to the door, its locked and I see two employees who are chatting. I try the door again to confirm it is locked and not even a glance by either employee. Wanted to really try this correct ed beef they rave about but Id rather give my money to people who want it.

I was in Oak Park and one of a sudden in a mood for a Reuben sandwich. Not easy to find it actually if you dont like going to chain restaurants. For sure one of the best Reuben sandwiches I ever had!!!! Served with a potato salad. Very nice service. I will for sure come back again.

I had a pastrami on rye and corned beef on an onion roll. The corned beef was very lean and chewy. It was very much like lunch meat you buy at the grocery store. The pastrami was very good, but the sandwich was so tiny..it was a total ripoff. All in all, not very impressed.

Love this place. Been coming here for years. Same weekend server and bus boy. It is truly a neighborhood joint. Best cheesy scramble eggs. Only negative.....take cash...no credit cards taken.

Awesome Deli Items!!! Ive had the chopped liver and the lox sandwich. Perfect! Tomorrow the Ruben and Friday the half and half. Cant wait. Im in heaven!
