I walked into this place and was creeped out by all the reviews on the wall. Each one claiming that this place had "The Best Burgers in Chicago!" Ive never seen a business pat itself on the back in such a fashion...I honestly almost turned around when I saw that. This type of advertisement is unique to hipster businesses and if you notice you dont see any ACTUAL awards, only reviews written by other hipsters and occasionally a business might have an award from some irrelevant paper or website that they only won because of the hipster fanatics. One thing you notice at this place is the ridiculous prices. Five Guys is pretty much a wanna-be burger diner/fast food joint, but their burgers are $7 each and they dont come with a fries and drink. So youre looking at over $10 for an entire meal. After I ordering my meal (had to yell because of loud music) I decided to fill up on the free peanuts while I waited. I walk over to the boxes...theres nothing to put the peanuts in. I had to grab a thin napkin and scoop a handful with my bare hands. Who knows how many nasty people did this before me? The peanuts were stale as well which didnt help. I had to clean off my own table to sit down since things were pretty dirty (business had just died down from the line being out the door.) I thought Id be in and out in-time to catch the next train, but it took 20 minutes for my burger and fries to be ready (the place wasnt even that busy.) Then, when I finally bite into "the best burger in Chicago" it wasnt even close. It was an overcooked mess that had me wishing Id have taken the train and went to Mcdonalds or Churchs chicken. The burnt bits took over most of the flavor and for the price I was extremely disappointed in the rather small size of the burger. Fries were barely salted and were overcooked as well, a couple fries were a nice crispy black. Who wouldve thunk a hipster joint would be overrated? Never been back since.

All Five Guys places are really good. Ive had a few hangups with the staff here, but thats expected. This place is pretty much awesome. Edit: This is the third time in a row the staff at this location has made a mistake. Im not complaining in store. But now I know that I should just never come back to Five Guys on Lake Street. Maybe Ill avoid five guys in general (but Im sure theres another one somewhere that doesnt suck complete balls.) I changed my rating to better reflect this locations experience.

I first got addicted to Five Guys when I was living in Virginia (where they started out) and was soooooo sad when I moved to Chicago because there were NONE in the Midwest. Luckily, they have become so popular that they have now expanded our way! Their burgers are the best Ive ever had. Their fries are freshly made from real potatoes shipped that day. Their portions are enormous and the price is right. DEFINITELY worth the trip, even if you dont live right in Oak Park.

This is my favorite Five Guys location. It is hardly ever crowded. The food is always fresh, service is always fast. Love that you have so many options/items to put on your burger at no extra charge. Get the regular size fries, it is big enough to share with 2 or 3 people. #CityExperts @GoogleLocalCHI

Not sure how to rate this one. For burger fans, Five Guys serves up fresh, made to order juicy burgers with lots of topping choices. A better alternative to most fast food burger chains. As a vegetarian, the menu is limited -- grilled cheese is really just cheese on a burger bun. But what do you expect?

I really like their fries, I was skeptical at first, but once I tasted them they were great. I feel that their fries are better than McDonalds, which I like their fries as well. They need Turkey burgers and better cheese sandwiches.

The food is really good and burgers are juicy but it is expensive. ($7 burger) Fries are pretty good but there are no combo meals so a meal can easily be over $12. It could also be faster service.
