I read the reviews on the computer from several sites. We just moved here and I am from the South, where they eat coleslaw on hot dogs. Of course, I can not find that here but still love hot dogs. I just go to KFC and buy the coleslaw and add it myself. lol One of the reviews said it is in a bad part of town, well, NOT TRUE. The people there, including the customers where very nice to me and very sincere in conversation. They had a nice size parking lot, that was full both times. Yes, I went twice in one day. I had to try it so I bought 11 hot dogs and 2 barbeque sandwhiches. Being from the south, they kinda teased me about a chili dog with sourkrout, but it was all in fun, no harm meant or taken. I also bought a gallon of their home made rootbeer. The food was so good that I went back 2 hours later to get 6 more barbeque sandwhiches to go. My entire family loved it as did I. I would definately recommend this establishment to anyone. Great people, great food, great rootbeer, "hey hot dog" it was all great!

No frills place to grab a few good chili-cheese dogs and shoot the breeze with the friendly owner. As a root beer connoisseur, I say the following words with conviction: they the best root beers I have ever tasted. They make it on site and serve it in a frosted mug. Once the ice-cold fizzy brown caramel taste hits your tongue, youll realize all other root beers fall short.

Been going here since I was a little kid. I remember the owner working there as a little kid also. Its great that now I take my kids to eat here. Best polish and dogs around. And their root beer is the best. Have to have it in the frosty mug. Growing up in Joliet, you were either a Joes guy, or a Hey Hot Dog guy. Me, and my family, will ALWAYS be Hey Hot Dog people.

I was passing thru from out of town and someone recommended this hot dog stand. The owner was nice and friendly. The food was fantastic. The root beer was amazing. It had so much flavor. I recommend it if youre in joliet.

Ive been going to Hey Hotdog since I was a little boy. Im firmly middle aged now and it has always been a favorite. They have the very best Sloppy Joes on the planet and the root beer is beyond compare.

Love this place. The owner and his Dad ran the place when the owner was a kid on cass street. Ive been eating those dogs for over 30 plus years now. Excellent! !!!
