My family and I decided to dine here for Mothers Day 5/14/17, i have been here several times even though its a little pricey the food has always been good, however today it was just the opposite, I ordered the salmon, i got like a spoon two of spinach and the salmon was super dry, when I asked the waitress was this all the spinach I got she said in a slightly sarcastic matter "yes" Im sure she was not worried about a tip because it was automatically included, I dont mind paying for meal if its good but what i got today I might as well have flushed that money down the toilet, I know it was hectic and all but to spend that kind of money on a meal and to get what got was extremely disappointing. Will never go back!!

Food was subpar at best, mostly overcooked. Salad wasnt washed and had grit in it. Portions for appetizers were too big and whole meal was overpriced. Golden Corral has better food. Service was so slow and not one check in to see how food was tasting. Also witnessed questionable cleaniness by busboy, tables have mixture of linens and placemats and all he did was shake out placemats after clearing table, totally unsanitary! Dust caked on light fixtures above table was gross, not to mention bugs on unclean windows. Avoid if looking for local fare and go to known chain for better service and food. I was raised in family biz of 5 star surf & turf fine dining, but this is far from it.

Find a place that serves menu,favorites on the Sunday brunch? Chicken picanti. Home made chicken beef hand carved, served.there famous ribs. Salads, deserts. For under 20.00! How much.? Try it! Bottom line- coming here for years, finally found the time to make a review. Food: excellent, I cant complain ever, best ribs ever ever eaten and can I just say the best baked beans haha. Cocktails: I always get a pear pom martini or a red wine, never had a bad one here. Service: great, I mean I think Ive had one server in the past who was poopy but otherwise I usually get one of the older gals and its like they read my mind. the food in carryout is great to when I dont feel like cooking. 5 stars to probably one of my favorite restaurants.

This is a nice restaurant! I had my family reunion banquet there in 2005. For mothers day, I took my mother there. It was our first eating there in the restaurant. The food is good, but not the best. I personally dont think the food is that good to be that expensive. Most there wasnt any variety on the menu. I expected more. Other than that, great atmosphere, décor, and the service was great. However, I do believe the restaurant needs to be a little more spacious! Some guests could better great through the aisles.

A very nice restaurant. There is a reason they have been around so long! Family Businesses are the Best! We had a table of 13 and it went very smooth. The service flowed nicely and the food was wonderful! Some of what we ordered was perch, a tilapia special, ribs, pulled pork, steak, and blacken salmon. The salmon was fabulous. The steak, perfect. I am leery of ordering steak for I am very picky (hence the salmon). I did get to taste someones, because it looked so good. And it tasted like it looked!

Mothers Day,very busy, yes with certain customer and then the regulars that were forgotten, no water service, This was twice once in Dec for a 98 yr birthday( oh yeah Christmas party" took over.) The Mothers Day crowd was large but no excuses for chicken not cooked thru, the walleye served very cold, and the coffee was never even offered// I will say the French onion soup was excellent as usual. I waited until now to send this so I had a chance to reconsider. Maybe we will just go for lunch from now on,

We eat at Glenwood Oaks many times during the year, the food it always very good and normally the service is top notch....unless you get Debbie to wait on you... If this happens plan on waiting a long time for everything. Trying to get a drink is a big deal, we found out you might as well take the walk to the bar and get one yourself... 2 & 1/2 hours is a little long to have dinner. Yes we will go back, but no more with this waitress.

This restaurant is a strange combination of fancy and middle class. They offer high dollar prices and fancy sounding food. But the waitstaff wears kind of middle class uniform, they have a piano bar and gambling machines inside. They include some cheesy features such as an aquarium behind the bar (no draft beers), and lots of funky decorations. The food was pretty good but not the best ribs.

This looks like it would have been a nice restaurant many years ago, but now it just looks cheesy inside. I had a steak; it was supposed to be medium, but it came out closer to well done, and the outside was burned. A little pricey for that kind of kitchen failure. Luckily, it was covered in bleu cheese, so it was still edible ... sorta. Also, they have no beers on tap -- bottles only.

Glenwood Oaks is still a wonderful intimate setting where you can enjoy a conversation. Our service was excellent. Rachael was attentive without being a pest. We ordered prime rib medium rare and it was cooked to perfection and served hot. Love the restaurant for its atmosphere and fabulous food.

Nice, northwoods type "supper club" atmosphere with well informed wait staff and god variety of well prepared dishes. Have eaten here about 10 times over the last several years and always predictabley good service and food. Nice inviting bar area with limited video gaming.

I came here with my extended family for Easter Brunch. The food is a little over priced for what you get. Has a sort of upscale 80s atmosphere. Could stand to undergo a decent renovation. The service was prompt and the servers are attentive so that was a plus.

First time eating there. Only complaint is the waitress. She wasnt very good. Her service was terrible. Other than that the food was good and restaurant is very clean. The bathrooms were spotless. I would eat there again but I would want a different waitress.

Classic "supper club" atmosphere . Always good food, however their usual good service was not there this visit. Our server was rude, dismissive and had his own agenda. He put a real damper on my wifes birthday dinner. Usually worth 4 stars but not this time.

Great food and great service! The ribs are their signature dish and are guaranteed to be some of the best youll ever have. The lake perch and prime rib is also delicious. Owner Terry is a wonderful host and truly cares about his customers.

This is one of those restaurants that was special back when my parents brought me, and it continues its tradition of excellent fare, wonderful service, and a friendly atmosphere. Every member of the family enjoys Glenwood Oaks.
