We were really excited to try the food here as we heard lots of good things from a few friendsn and the reviews seemed like this was THE place to go if you wanted some good chinese food. I went in to carry out, the wait wasnt bad but the food was TERRIBLE. the garlic chicken, though the meat was clearly of good quality, tasted like it was cooked on its own, rather than in the sauce, thus rendering it practically flavorless. There were also more onions in the mix than chicken and other veggies combined. The General Tso chicken was extremely salty and lacked that savory taste and unique heat I was accustomed to. Not only that, but the texture of the chicken was the same as if you had ordered it the night before and microwaved it. The Cantonese noodles were absolutely horrible: they were very dry and seemed almost uncooked at parts, and looked as though it had been sitting in the take out box all night for the sorry dog, myself unfortunately, who would end up ordering it after some green onion had been sprinkled on it. Just about the only redeeming factor of the whole meal were the eggrolls, which were pretty good with the spicy mustard. The price is about average for two people to order thief favorite dish, but the overall quality and execution of each were very very poor. If you already know of a Chinese restaurant that has won you over, play it safe and call them instead. This is NOT the place to go.

We have been going to Golden dragon for many years and for almost all of those years it has never aside from the egg rolls and egg foo yung been consistent with its quality, you could always tell when a new chef is cooking their recipes. it can be extraordinarily good or why did I want Chinese tonight. So now I make something of oriental like flavor, well you have to have egg rolls and we always get an order of egg rolls and sometimes the crabmeat delight, which are always of consistent quality too. Mothers day I was not well and did not feel like cooking a feast for my daughter and wife for Mothers day but ordered take out from Golden Dragon instead. It was not the best. The egg foo yung looked like they are doing cutbacks as they were almost half their normal size, good enough in flavor but lacking horribly in portion size. Some of what we ordered just ended up being inedible and thrown out. But in closing if you want a great egg roll, crab meat delight and if your cutting down on your portions the egg foo yung. Then by all means come to the Golden Dragon.

I never leave reviews but needed to for this place. This was probably one of the worst Chinese places I have gotten food from. Not only were they over priced but the food did not taste good at ALL. I ordered sweet and sour chicken with a pork egg roll. The chicken was rock hard and they mixed the chicken with their sauce in one container with the vegetables. I felt like that was very cheap and they short you that way by not giving you enough chicken or sauce. I figured the sweet and sour sauce would help make the chicken soft because of how hard it was. NOPE I was wrong. The egg rolls did not have ANY pork in them. It felt like they just stuffed them with lettuce. Feel free to try the place if you would like. But I will never return there again. I guess its part of trying new places.

Been eating at Golden Dragon for over 25 years. Recently we ordered our usual smorgasbord (eggrolls, shrimp fried rice, beef chop suey, kung poa beef, sweet and sour chicken) it was horrible! The only thing that was good was the rice. The food had no flavor! The sweet and sour chicken was nothing like what we usually got. Worst Chinese food Ive had in a while. I mentioned this to my mom and she said she had the same experience. As did my mother in law and a few of my friends! Then I found out they are under new management.. That explains it! RIP GOLDEN DRAGON! Where are we going to get good Chinese food now?!

I ordered 3 dishes via phone and picked them up. I read the reviews but thought maybe they were exaggerated - they were not. The chicken fried rice was over cooked and tasted almost stale. The container of beef was not only small but tasted bad. It came with the smallest container of rice I have ever seen. The third dish was as bad as the first two. The pot stickers were good. It is expensive for the amount of food you get. I am never going back there again.

口味还不错的! Fox Lake附近唯一一家中餐馆,晚上还做酒吧.酸辣汤还不错,口味略重,但还算比较正宗好吃.炒杂菜很中国口味,喜欢.煎饺也不错.在那种小小小镇上有这么一家中餐馆,非常感恩.

Excellent Food!! The food tastes like it was made with Love and Care . Dont let the interior fool you, yes it may look boring inside, the food is well worth it! My girlfriend and I had the egg rolls, pot stickers, curry chicken, Mongolian beef, and chicken fried rice... Yes we totally pigged out. Everything was spot on better than I expected. We will be coming back to Golden Dragon for sure. Right on the corner in a little cool looking building.

Wow, a Chinese place with a very friendly Casey. Place is clean , but best is the actual food. Not greasy , tasty too. I always get fried rice, loaded with pork, also get sweet and sour chicken, egg foo young , pork lo mein. You really will be surprised at the good flavor and quality. We always order the house made egg rolls , which are really jumbo egg rolls, freshly fried and hot yummmmmmy!!!!

Iced tea tasted like cardboard flavored water. Ordered curry shrimp and there were 7 small shrimp, for a whole platter of onions. The "curry" tasted terrible and was of a gelatinous consistency. Actually liked the crab delight/Rangoon but a couple of them tasted like freezer, lol. WILL NOT be back.

Food use to be really good. Been going here for 33 years. New management took over and the food is not so good. It is bland and anything battered is doughy inside. I did like the crab Rangoon. My husband liked the egg Foo young. Everything else we ordered went in the garbage.

Excellent fried rice and egg foo. My favorite dishes. Great service. Friendly staff. Super prices. Under new management and doing a GREAT job !!! Try it, you will love it. Our shop is 5 minutes away so we really like to support our local businesses.

This is a great place to dine. The restaurant has been open for 37 years and is ran by 4 sisters. I would suggest the Mongolian beef or sesame chicken. Fast friendly service. And its always comforting when you walk in and hear 70/80s rock and roll.

The restaurant is the worst in region of lake county , thanks to the food yesterday my son ged sick and he is vomiting , my son returned this morning from school due the vomiting , dont go to this restaurant , dont risk your family

Your typical Chinese food place. Good food and a great staff! I get take out from here often and I have never been disappointed. I have also eaten in their dining room a few times. Small place, but service was excellent.

Good Chinese food that is just what youd expect when looking for inexpensive, fast and tasty. We especially loved the fried rice. Ordered for takeout and everything was on time and correct in the order.
