This is a great place to come if you are concerned about allergens, you dont have to sacrifice any flavor to get some safe ice cream! The waffle cones are homemade and some have peanuts on them so that is an issue, but if they are currently making a fresh batch you can get some before they are (possibly) contaminated! They have a wide variety of flavors including homemade ones, so you can be sure your ice cream will be delicious and free from being contaminated at a factory. Their service, including washing hands/scooper for someone with an allergy is great, they are really careful. A great place to visit!

This place definitely deserves the attention amongst ice cream parlors. The staff was courteous and speedy. The décor is 1930s vintage looking, but not outdated. Its fitting for sure. The ice cream and the presentation of it suits this place. The ice cream itself is served on classic glass bowls and long silver spoons; thats a rarity in this day an age with everything being plastic and disposable. And the ice cream itself is fantastic. Thats something you have to try it for yourself. You really cant go wrong with any of the specialty sundaes.

If this is how old school ice cream parlors used to be - I wouldve loved to have lived back in those days. The service is classic and they are great to suggest great flavors and treats. You can taste the freshness in the ice cream and once you go here going to a place like Dairy Queen isnt the same. The classic feel of having fresh delicious ice cream and then taking a stroll is a very cool feeling and this place hits that spot. The selection can be overwhelming but just ask the friendly staff and they will steer you the right way!

I will be having my sons 6th birthday here in a week, his 5th was here and it was fantastic. The icecream was great, the entertainment fabulous - couldnt ask for better, and the service was excellent. We brought in our own cake and it was cut and served to 40 people - kids and adults with a smile and with the service you would have expected if you were paying 5 dollars a slice! I have gone in for several parties, and several visits for just a cone or bowl and have always been very pleased.

From the beautiful building to the great service to the delicious ice cream, Brown Cow is probably as good as it gets in an ice cream parlor. Its a little on the pricey side for Forest Park but this place beats the hell out of anywhere else to go for a sweet treat for miles in every direction. People complain about the lines but a ten to fifteen minute wait is just the price you have to pay to get some of this crazy good cow gold. Please add a changing station in the mens bathroom!

Their ice cream is delicious, but stay away from the pie and shakes. It is incredibly deceiving. Its around $5-$6 a slice and tastes AWFUL. I drove out there from the burbs just for a slice of pecan pie and I didnt even finish it--it was THAT bad. I felt seriously cheated. Husband had a shake and it was about the same price $5-$6 and it was the worst shake hes ever had. Huge, huge disappointment. Stick to the ice cream if you even bother to go.

Great Location but a definitely a bit pricey. The banana split was just ok. Really didnt wow me for the price. I tried to add an additional scoop and it was like $3 more for one scoop to an already $10 banana split. Nothing compared to Margies, but they are open til 11 in a great area. The staff is nice and helpful. The place was an old theater so the decor is cool. Somewhat of an old school ice cream parlor feel with a updated feel.

Screw oberweis and cold stone. BROWN COW is where it is at! I actually like standing in line here, waiting. The smell of the freshly made waffle cones makes your mouth water just in time to sample all the flavors and pick the one you really want. If you ever dine in, look around: Everyone who comes here has the happiest face ever!

I was in the mood for an ice cream and being in Oak Park I was going to Coldstone creamery. I decided to Yelp it and I found this jewelry. Friendly service and a good variety of options. Also important is a local business. #buylocal is good for the neighborhood and for the local economy. Recommended!!!

Absolutely LOVE The Brown Cow Ice Cream Parlor here in Forest Park. Weve been going there since it opened and has the perfect combination of old school charm and good old-fashioned ice cream and excellent customer service. The lines can be long on a warm summer night; but totally worth the wait!

I LOVE ice cream and Ive become very picky about where I want to eat it. We were visiting family in Oak Park and I needed an ice cream fix. This homemade ice cream did not disappoint! Brown Cow has a great variety of flavors and options and the staff was very friendly. We will definitely be back!

The best ice cream of my life. 18% butterfat, people. This ice cream shop has a dozen home made flavors and oodles more, including vegan and dairy free ice creams. Its in an old theater, so even the ambiance is out of this world. The people who run it are just the best.

The atmosphere is always so pleasant. The kids are always so happy to be there and its fun to watch while they make the cakes and cones. Theyve recently started making their brownies in house though, so Ill have to get used to that. Of course, the ice cream is delicious

The variety of flavors at this Forest Park ice cream parlor is great. Mint chocolate chip and chocolate chip cookie dough are my favorites! Great place to order birthday cakes for the kids! Could use more seating during the summer months though.

I love peanut butter and they have a delicious peanut sauce that you can put on ANY ice cream. I highly recommend it! They also have cakes, ice cream sandwiches, and about 20 flavors (quite a few when multiplied with sauces).

My kids and I love this place. Great ice cream and atmosphere. Really good prices as well. They throw really enjoyable parties - providing activities and games for the kids to play. Also love the music. Highly recommended!

I had their peanut butter chocolate ice cream and it was to die for. The interior looks like an old style ice cream parlor, which I thought was pretty neat. Overall a nice place to visit for a quick treat!

Ice cream doesnt taste any better than from what Ive had. Did the trough challenge, for breakfast, and regretted it later on. But it was fun, especially when you have a bunch of friends to share it with.

Favorite ice cream place in the area. Growing up, it was Petersens in OP. Then Oberweis in OP. Brown Cow is way better imo. Im usually strictly a chocolate person, but the chocolate chip here is amazing!!

The customer service was horrible Asked for and EMS discount and recieved attitude Then I purchased a sundae and was not shown the size it came in if I wanted a McDonalds sundae I would have went there

Good place to stop for an ice cream conned if you are walking the streets of Forrest Park. Decent selection of flavors and you get a generous dip. Place is a little crowded, so not a quick stop.
