Ice cream is the best I have tasted in my life creamy delicio-ness, especially with flavors like Badger Pride and Peanut Butter Fudge Chocolate Chip. UW-Madison campus is a beautiful, architecturally and historically beautiful place, and Babcock Halls dining areas are intimate and well furnished, as well as very clean. The ice cream store is attached to the rest fo the Dairy studies or something like that building which is suually nmot very crowded, and you can go see how the ice cream is made through very large second floor windows. I know for a fact that the Dairy store is not usually crowded in the summer. Excellent place! Pretty fast service! AWESOME ICE CREAM!

Quality food - I try to have lunch there whenever the weekly special is the reuben (rotates every 5 weeks), but other food is also high quality. Incredibly reasonable prices and nothing beats the options for fresh cheese, milk, and ice cream. Biggest thing to avoid is going just after a class change when the university is in session, especially either side of noon - lines can quickly grow to 15-20 mins or more just to place an order and the staffing usually cant keep us with this.

They have standard flavors and then special flavors and I still have not decided my favorite. They actually sell cheese, sandwiches, etc that are quite good. The small size of the ice cream is 2-3 scoops, and it can be multiple flavors with no extra charge. I recommend getting it in a bowl because it can get messy fast when using a cone. Hot tip: go upstairs to see them actually making ice cream and other dairy products.

Good ice cream. The sandwiches are decent but all are sickenly cheesy and greasy (and this is coming from a cheese lover). Not very much seating and is always somewhat messy and very crowded during lunch time. Their bulk cheese is good, though a bit pricey. Overall, its a good place to stop by for ice cream during the summer but definitely dont go out of your way for lunch.

I had an odd request when I went into the shop. I needed 5 malts to take to my sons family right away. The shop was extremely busy but they moved as fast as possible. All the working students were friendly and courteous. They even went in the back room to find a box that I could carry the drinks in.We used to take that son and my other son to the shop back in the early 80s!!!

Oh my gosh. I cannot tell how much I love this place. I am a student at UW and find it to be the best combination of price, quality, and taste around! Their special the pastrami is my favorite otherwise you cant go wrong with any one of their other sandwiches! Couldnt recommend it enough! Not to mention their ice cream made in house and you can watch it happen!

Great ice cream. Okay sandwiches. I like cheese, but usually these sandwiches are a bit cheese heavy for my taste. I will recommend the taco salad though. Be wary of the lunch time rush with no structure for lines after you order to pay for your food its easy to find yourself ahead of or behind the person who ordered before you.

We love Babcock ice cream. Union Utopia, chocolate peanut butter, and chocolate chip cookie dough are some of our favorites. 25 minutes maximum meters make it more likely that you can find a spot, then in the past. A yummy treat for sure. They also have kids cones available for under $2, for kids only.

Theyve genetically engineered cows to add sugar to the milk, then they just rest the udder on an ice block. If you ask, theyll show you. Sounds disturbing but the cows love it, and the customers cant get enough. I just made all that up to draw attention to how excellent the ice cream is.

What can only be described as some of the best ice cream in the world, which does make since given the fact that this is the place where the single grain experiment and the butterfat test first occurred. A must try of the area, and definitely go see the back where the ice cream is made!

Run by UW Madison students, this is a nice place to get a cheap lunch or ice cream that tastes excellent. The line can be fairly long, especially at lunch time. Note their hours and get there in time to place your order! They also sell fresh cheese at very low cost.

Delicious, creamy and decadent ice cream. The chocolate chips in both the mocha macchiato and Badger blast were dark chocolate and incredible. Relatively low prices as well, a regular with 2-3 scoops is just about $3. Really awesome ice cream!

An awesome alternative choice for breakfast during the week, especially for srudents. Its close to the engineering campus as well as a majority of Lakeshore dorms. All the food is handmade right in front of you but its still pretty quick.
