This is one of the top foods Ive ever eaten. I had been there once before and I remembered seeing it on the menu. At the time, I chose something else. Today I went there for lunch and didnt see it on the menu. I asked them to prepare it for me and they did without hesitation. This dish was unbelievably award winning delicious! I was worried that it would be too sweet but it wasnt. Absolutely divine. Im going to have them make some up for me for Thanksgiving. This would be a perfect compliment to the meal. I also splurged on my calories and ordered the pumpkin gelato which was also wonderful. If you are a fan of the flavor of pumpkin, dont miss an opportunity to try this place.

The service was good, but my guests and I were all very disappointed with the food here. Two of us ordered pasta dishes ranging 16-18 dollars each. Both the cream sauce in the Fettucini Porcini and the Bolognese sauce were incredibly lackluster. Both were under seasoned and flavorless. The fried zucchini leaves were heavily battered and fried, which resulted in heavy, greasy breading leaving the flowers indistinguishable. I have eaten far better Italian food for better pricing. All three of us agreed we would not be returning.

Delicious, fresh, unique, quaint and amazing. Those are the only words to describe this place. BYOB is amazing, nice patio out back/front, the servers are very pleasant and happy to share their knowledge about the menu. Never had the desserts, but they look unreal. The portion sizes are just right, and again, everything is fresh and the atmosphere is very intimate. 5 Stars!

Via Roma is a family-owned restaurant whose staff dedicates themselves to excellent food, a cozy atmosphere, and friendly service. Bring a bottle of your favorite wine and enjoy the varied menu with daily specials. Be sure to save room for the tiramisu or lemon cake. Reservations are available for parties of six or more.

Service was good, our waiter was helpful and attentive, and the food was good. I had a seafood pasta dish, and it tasted fresh. Was a little pricey, and they charged more for a drink than it cost on the menu. It can be crowded at times, and they dont take reservations. I believe it is BYOB as well.

Italian people have trouble going out to eat Italian, because "mamas meatballs and sauce are better." This is as authentic as it gets and I always feel like part of the family when Im there and every time I take a bite I feel like home. Whats good here? Everything.

Fantastic upscale Italian food at moderate prices. I tend to order from the specials menu - last time we had an antipasto tray with burrata, and perfectly cooked short ribs with pasta. Both were excellent, as always. BYOB with no cork fee, so bring some wine!

Eat here every other week. Staff is obviously proud and knowledgeable about what they serve. The quality of the food is always excellent. I find the value to be great - not necessarily cheap, but also not what Id expect to pay for this level of food and service.

An absolute gem! This little BYOB Italian restaurant is owned by the nicest couple. The chef/owner is from Italy and the food is absolutely delicious! I highly recommend bringing your own bottle of wine and treat yourself to a wonderful dining experience.

Fantastic mussels. If you love authentic Italian food, this place is a must. If you like mussels, you wont regret ordering them here! The outdoor patio is a great add on. Even if its a little chillier, theyll turn on the heater for you!

Lets just say that I love Via Roma and its caring staff so much that when I moved to downtown Chicago, I still find ways to come back to Des Plaines once or twice a month. Chef Forte brings Rome to Chicago in the best possible way.

Its a tiny BYOB Italian place with excellent food and dessert for good prices. A bit noisy on busy days, but otherwise excellent. I believe that its no-reservation and you can almost always walk in and get a table in short order.

Nice place, very pretty, but im not impressed with the entrees... In my opinion the entrees need more detailing (they came only with two ingredients which are pasta and main ingredient) but the desserts are great!

Best Italian food in the Northwest BURBS! Its also BYOB and no corking fee. If youre in Des Plaines this is a must go to place. Parking is in the rear, also in summer eat outside in the garden.

Amazing food. Place looks like a simple little dinner. Nothing special but food was amazing. Better than a lot of fancy Italian restaurants and price was fair. Staff is nice and friendly

Outstanding food and service. Pumpkin ravioli has a light sauce, and was the best I have had. Waiter (José) was very knowledgeable of their menu. Everyone was so nice!
