The service is excellent -- friendly and careful to get the order just right. I had a green curry with tofu and mango bubble tea. The bubble tea was tangy and flavorful from top to bottom (some places can be watery toward the bottom). The curry had the right amount of heat -- I dont mind that it came from jalapeno rather than Thai chili. It had a rich flavor, and wasnt overly liquid. The veggies were still "alive" tasting, and the Japanese eggplant in it is really good. There is also a LOT of food there -- two meals for moderate eaters, 1 for big eaters. Another plus is that they have good brown rice as an option at no extra charge. I heard a few other tables talk about how they loved the sushi. I cant comment on it myself, but I take it as a good sign that they have consistently good staff in the kitchen. The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars is that they had the doors open to the sidewalk dining area, so the 90+ degree heat and humidity came inside -- ick. Plus, I only tried the one dish. Ill definitely go back to try the Singapore noodles, and if they are just as good, Ill bump my rating up to 5 stars. One thing for sure, it is a lot better than most of the Thai places Ive been to, which are kind of stale smelling and/or have bland, greasy curry drowning in coconut milk. Oh, another plus... the place is clean, including the restroom -- a welcome change from a lot of the places.

Shine has quickly become my favorite go-to restaurant in Lincoln Park. Firstly, the owner and all staff welcome you with a smile, and genuinely appreciate you choosing to dine there. Secondly, the food is phenomenal! Each of their dishes is unique, and the food (esp. veggies) are all so fresh! And such kind and informative wait staff... Finally, you are always thanked for coming on your way out - genuine appreciation and assurance that you enjoyed your meal and experience. And thats why I keep going back!!

A sister restaurant to my favorite sushi spot, Rise, Shine has a great menu (many of the same must have items as Rise) and ample seating. Ive never had to wait for a table and they are also a great togo option. I love their flaming maki roll! They also have Chinese, Japanese and lots of noodle dishes if you arent in the mood for sushi.

took my girlfriend to Shine for valentines day, loved it! Food was great, service was great. Order the Lemongrass Chicken and 4 different types of sushi, all were wonderful, and their spicy sauce is great. The atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for, perfect for a quiet date night. Will definitely recommend.

Like their sister restaurant in Lakeview, Rise, this place delivers tasty, fresh sushi and prepared dishes. The location is nice, with a couple of smaller, divided rooms to create a slightly more intimate atmosphere. Service is always very friendly, whether eating in or taking out.

I always come here for date nights with my boyfriend. The food is amazing ! The akuma maki is my favorite and the crab Rangoon is perfect! They also have a good selection on drinks

The menu had a great variety of sushi rolls, and the Red Dragon and Spicy Scallops were wonderful. We had great service and clean establishment. I thought it was very inexpensive.
