Straightforward place with a friendly staff. They have a lot of different pizzas on their menu, or you can build your own. They come in various logical sizes--each size increase doubles the area of the pizza. The pizza is Roman style, which I understand to mean crisp, thin, low-salt crust. The crust here is thin but tender, almost like a very thin Focaccia crust. We chose two mediums: potato rosemary (nice textures, good pizza), and a four cheese with added mushrooms (it came with fresh arugula and sliced grape tomatoes on top, and this pizza was really good). This was enough food for two of us to stuff ourselves and take home a little less than half of each for just under $30. Glad to have tried Metro!

The only thing saving this from 1 star was the friendly service. we ordered a couple slices (mind you we were the only ones in there) and it took about 20 min (yes there was to-go orders but...). I can understand if the pizza IS THAT good, but I honestly wouldve rather gone and got a Mother Celeste from the frozen food section. The pizza tasted dry - barely any sauce (yes I understand the idea of not oversaucing). For a city with PLENTY of pizza options Im not sure how this place attracts a following. To each their own. Maybe I shouldve tried this potato and rosemary everyone likes.

Im a long-time regular, living just down the block from Pizza Metro. When I leave town for any extended length of time, I come to seriously hurt for this pizza. Winter time demands a slice of potato rosemary, it really does. The service is probably bad if youre a belligerent drunk at 2am - Ive seen more than one jerko get thrown out in the wee hours. But if youre friendly and not looking for anything beyond a good meal youre in for a real treat. This place is good for vegans too - if you ask for your pizza without cheese they wont look at you funny.

3.5 stars Ordered a Chicken Pesto Pizza for take away, I think it took less time than sitting in. Could have used more pesto. Not the best, not the worst, speedy, not very expensive (medium-$12.60 would easily feed 2 people) and lots of out-side-the-box choices, as well as the standards. The crust is crispy without being burnt; Im curious to know if they use extra sugar in their dough. Its not especially sweet, but theres almost a caramelized or crystalized texture to the crust. A great choice for when your dinner goes south.

I have been driving by Pizza Metro since I moved to Chicago. I had heard decent reviews, especially here on google. I called to order and had some basic questions about my order (price, delivery charge, etc.) and got nothing but attitude. The jerk hung up on me when I asked him how much it was going to be. I went and got the Pizza anyway (although I thought about forgetting it and getting pizza somewhere else). It was good... not the best Pizza Ive had. No plans to go back anytime soon. Take this review however you want it.

Let me just break it down for you quickly. Its screaming mediocre. Thats all that needs to be said. It came late but not super late (like 25 mins). It was luke warm. Everything about it was just OK. Sausage is the super small crumbles which I dont love but you may. The rest theres just not enough to say anything good or bad about. Bottom line with so many different alternatives in the city, there is no reason to ever order from here. Certainly will be my last time.

They really know how to make it feel like family here! The food is always amazing, pitch-perfect renditions of Roman classics, served in atmosphere that reminds us that half of a restaurants job is hospitality. The ingredients in everything are so high-quality and delicious, I recommend simpler pastas, salads, and pizzas to get the full effect of every wonderful flavor. We went on a Sunday night and were treated to a beautiful meal under the stars. Cant wait to return!

Ive been a fairly regular customer here in the past, recommending the place to family and friends. HOWEVER, last night Ive had a very crappy experience with Pizza Metros delivery service and management. The restaurant got our address wrong, the pizzas came late and cold so we had to MICROWAVE our slices. Management was not sympathetic at all and blamed us for not confirming the address. Ridiculous. Never ordering or dining in here again.

Best reason to go here is for the potato rosemary pizza - very nontraditional, you wouldnt think that this combo would work, but man once you try it you will melt and come back for more. Honestly I love this pizza so much that I havent bothered to try any of their other pizzas (which I assume are excellent...ahhh Ill get around to trying them). Try it everyone youll become addicted just like I did.

We travel all around the world, and pizza is always the safe bet. This is by far the best pizza we ever ate. Its always great tasting and one of a kind. I dont like the inside decor or the size of the place, but its always clean and service is great. I almost can smell it right now...Good excuse for another 600 mile round trip to see Chicago and eat #1 pizza!

This place is cool. Authentic Italian cuisine with an Italian chef. Excellent pizza. The crust is to die for. Like nothing I have ever eaten before. I tried the Buffalo and onion pizza and it is on point. The potato and rosemary pizza exceeded my expectations. Sausage and onion was good. The desserts which are made there were delicious.

I would NOT eat here, stick to delivery. The place is cramped. The staff is so very odd. Just from waiting to pick up a pizza, I overheard what I believe to be the manager and a waitress talking about going to get high. However, the pizza is delicious! And Im usually not a fan of thin crust. The margarita pizza is the best!

Old favorites like potato rosemary pizza (and dessert case) still fabulous, with newer totally solid expanded menu. Loving recent soup-of-day, zucchini split pea, and tasty caprese salad. Pleasant presentation of dishes. Reasonable prices. Good, friendly service and sidewalk seating. High chairs available.

Marco, Patricio, and THE FOOD here is amazing! I have never had a bad thing here. Everything is incredible. Suppli, ricotta cake(heaven), chicken Limon, THE GNOCCHI, the pizza, this is a 5 star restaurant hands down! And I must mention the ricotta cake 1 more time. Sometimes I eat 2 they are crazy good!

Had the pizza as a carry out. Was made quickly and staff was friendly. However, the pizza was terrible. Probably the most "blah" pizza Ive ever had. Crust seemed stale, cheese was thin and pizza overall very uninspiring. Id place it below little ceasars pizza and thats saying alot....
