My wife and I had breakfast there yesterday. I ordered the Baltic Eggs benedict. The menu listed eggs, hollandaise, salmon and caviar on muffin w/toast. Meal delivered was warm, not hot..but Ok. After I ate half, I realized they served the meal without the caviar. I asked the waitress about this and she said "oh yeah..the kitchen is out of caviar". Really? She knew it, the kitchen knew it and together they decided not to tell me about it? Perhaps hoping I would neither care nor notice. They decided to solve the problem they would deduct $3 from the bill. Ive come to this restaurant for at least 15 years. I went there yesterday only because really awesome places like "Yolk" had lines around the block. We knew breakfast would be expensive but we were hungry and expected a high quality meal so what the heck. I will tell you any restaurant which is OK with cheating the customer is not a restaurant which Id either recommend nor return.

Dont come here. The hostess and owner are just complete jerks. Were less than 24 hours from the loss of one of our best friends, staying in his apartment in the same building and not only did the hostess give us the most unbelievable attitude when we told her three more in addition to us three were coming down shortly, the owner, Hale, pretty much told us to scram. This all because we just wanted to sit down and order some food, and hopefully be joined in just a few minutes by the remaining three. The behavior was reprehensible. Sure, were totally reeling by what just happened, and that perhaps is tinting my view of what happened, but my goodness, the person who owns this place and his staff couldnt have shown any less understanding. They were simply awful. Our best friend lived in this building - we came here often, mostly because it was convenient. We will never set foot there again.

ONE WORD TO THE FILTHY OWNER: YOU AND YOUR SO CALLED MANAGEMENT TEAM SUCK BIG TIME, YOU ARE A SHAME TO CHICAGO, AND WE DONT WANT YOU IN OUR GREAT CITY. The worst service experience by far!!!! Do yourself a favor and AVOID this dirty place. Ignorant servants, unbelievably stupid manager, dirty rotten sandwiches, they refused to make a new sandwich for me when I politely told them the sandwich is old and taste bad!!! Rotten food!!!! Please close this restaurant. I will call the food safety department in the city of Chicago and let them deal with these idiots. Every one works there is rude, Hey, we don’t need to eat your stupid food....the owner must be mentally rerated to treat customers like that. F.You.

Whenever I have friends in from out of town I bring them to the Oak Tree. I always ask for a window seat because the 180 degree views from above the Water Tower are amazing. The food is elevated, sophisticated, yet approachable and always good. The wait can be a little long on the weekends for brunch, but if wait around it will be worth it. The menu has something for everyone, so even the pickiest eaters will enjoy it.

Been going here for years. Nice breakfast and salads. A variety of grilled cheese sandwiches - think gruyere, gouda, or bleu among others. Its basically an upscale diner with a selection of sandwiches and other lunch and breakfast fare in addition to espresso, smoothies, speciality juice blends, and deserts. A nice escape from the tourists on Michigan Ave.

I love stopping at Oak Tree for breakfast or lunch while at 900 NorthMichigan Shops. They offer great brunch items (breakfast served all day!!) and I highly recommend the granola pancakes with bananas and/or the turkey hash with eggs. If you are there for lunch - Oak Tree has awesome salads, try the windy city chopped or the chicken curry, both delish.

bad bad service.....dont want to go into details of how the manager or owner treated our table...I rarely give one star...that is enough. They separate sit down location for more order/food and cafe by the entrance. their breakfast menu is not bad - used to enjoy their omelet. but I will prob not go back there

Food was great but thought I was in a hotel lobby. Im in to unique restaurants so this threw me off a bit! Then the food came out and I remembered I wasnt there to eat the decor. I had the Hungry Jack and it was awesome. Throw on some sourdough toast with their preserves and it was an awesome brunch.

Owner of the restaurant was totally rude. Refuses to give us a table on a window with a very strong attitude although this was available. When we complained to employees about the treatment we received two of them agreed that he was totally inappropriate. I would never come back to this place.

Great bakery, and convenient location. I love their fresh baked bread and their salads too. If you like to eat light, they have a ton of salads. I dont eat in the dining room much, but the view is killer. If youre visiting town its an affordable spot to have lunch on the mag mile.

A very nice atmosphere for breakfast. The ceiling to floor windows give you a great view of Michigan Avenue. The food is quite solid. Your tastebuds arent going to be blown away but youll leave full and satisified.

Great lunch spot when shopping in the 900 N building and along Michigan Avenue. Salads and sandwiches are great, am a big fan of the turkey burger and the chicken salad. Assortments of bread is a nice touch.

I spent my Sunday brunch at Oak Tree. The bagel with lox gave me a taste of New York. The French Toast was scrumptious and the views definitely add to the dining experience.

I love this place. The service is always attentive and prompt. When I got some fries that were under cooked they replaced them immediately. Love the salads and bakery too!
