If zero stars was an option, I would choose that. This place has by far the WORST service I have ever experienced at a restaurant. It is lucky that it is the only restaurant within a quarter mile of the beach that you can get a quick, cheap bite to eat. The food here was decent for a beach bar and as a tourist, I was pretty satisfied with their Chicago Dog, but I was only able to enjoy it after no one bothered picked up my meal from the pick-up counter, it sat cold for 20 minutes, and the manager had to order a new one for me. The only saving grace is the manager, who somehow was able to please customers despite having a staff of incompetent teenagers working a summer job. After sitting for 15 minutes without so much as a hello, one waiter insisted that we get up an order at the bar because "she wasnt our server". Another waiter ignored our request to take our order because he was too busy flirting with two customers, and a third waiter flat out ignored us and did not speak to customers whatsoever (he did joke with his coworkers throughout his shift, so a language barrier was not the issue). DO NOT EAT HERE, I repeat, DO NOT EAT HERE! Bring food with you or eat before you get to the beach. Best of the luck to the manager for making the most of a terrible staff and being the only person capable of providing customer service!

Pretty awful. People seated after were served first. Had to flag down someone to ask if any waitress was assigned to the table, thankfully she took us on. However, my friend wanted a Virgin mojito due to being pregnant and the waitress brought a Margarita, took it back then came and said they cant make a Virgin mojito. Even if its pre-mixed my guess is they can put soda, cane sugar, mint, lime and ice together. We had wanted food but since no one was paying attention we lost interest. Wanted the check. My friends mom got up and hunted the waitress down to let her know, waited long enough that we went up to the bar to pay and couldnt because the waitress had to run it. Eventually she came with the bill and the manager checked in on us. Maybe we werent supposed to be her table but the fact we werent noticed or served when others came after and were it was pretty awful. Manager did nothing but yell at her which was awful too.

Seems like a lot of people are reviewing the beach here? My review is for Oak Street Food & Drink, the bar. Location is great, of course. But there was a weird smell there. Like, wet dog smell. I tried a pina colada which was pretty terrible, ordering a margarita hoping it would be better, but it wasnt. The cocktails are the worst version of sugar drinks Ive ever had (of course there is no natural ingredients here - just mixes, etc. if I am wrong about that, I would be really really surprised). They were also super light on alcohol, considering I had half of each drink, normally Id feel a buzz after a day out in the sun at the beach, but nothin... The burger was mediocre. I would recommend sticking with draft beer or anything else that doesnt require bartending. My pina colada reference is Broken Land in Brooklyn.

Great view of the lake, but waited an hour for our food. Forgot the salad, brought one of the main course dishes with the appetizer and it was cold and raw...probably because they lost our order or something. Didnt bring the right sides. Pasta dish was super salty so that person didnt eat their food either. Too bad, because the beachstro has a great view and convenient location. Perhaps we should have ordered something from the takeout menu like a hamburger and it would have been okay. Just dont order the mussles, salmon or pasta dishes and you may be okay. The drinks are pre-mixed and not very good. Hoped the wine and mussels would have been okay, but mussels were watery and bitter.

A server at this place overcharged me $60.00 as a tip on a $20.00 bill and I disputed it with my credit card company after seeing it on my account. Then they had the nerve to send in a new additional receipt for $60.00 which did not show up on my credit card statement at all. I tried calling this place several times and no one answers the phone. They are totally dishonest and I will be providing proof they are lying to my credit card company. I will never return to this establishment and will be letting all of my friends know as well.

The parking is easy to find if you come after 6:30 pm, otherwise it is tough. Came here last week and had a drink before going to sit on the beach and enjoy the view. It is an okay place to eat at if you are planning on going to the beach and playing some volleyball, otherwise there are better places to go to.

This beach is really nice they have a place where you can eat and have a drink or too. They have many thing you can do to like play volleyball or bring other things to play with while there. You may think the water ill be really cold it not especially on a hot day. It a good day to get out a relax.

Now that the weather is warming up in Chicago, I can not leave this place. Yes, Im a bit tanned and burned...but its well worth it after hibernating the entire winter. Volleyball, football, food and drinks...doesnt get much better. DO NOT plan to change in the public restrooms, they are disgusting.

Being from Austin, I love any beach I can get my hands on. This one was one of the better ones (have you been to a beach in Texas? Kind of dirty...) that Ive been to within the country. It was fun to walk around, and get plenty of time to observe. If I lived here, Id be here often.

Went there on 09/03/2016. Ordered 5 drinks at a cost of $60 (already far too expensive!!) to then realized on my bank statement that the waiter charged me an extra £10 (probably gave himself a tip of $10 without my consent). Contacted the company, waiting for a response.

Lots of potential but fails to make the most of a great location. Right on the beach, beer, warm wine and cocktails made with syrups instead of real ingredient. Oak Street is a convenient spot to grab a refreshment rather than a destination.

Very close walk from Clark & Division Red Line, or take the 146 or 151 bus to Lakeshore and Division. During the week, you may run into high schoolers getting busted by cops, but that wont dampen your beach day. A lot cleaner than North Ave too

The beach is very big, bigger than Grand Haven beach in Michigan that I go to. The sand is clean for the most part and the water is clean as well. In fact, Ill be going there tomorrow. I have fun when I go there and cant wait to go.

During the summer its the perfect place to watch over the lake and relax. The food and drinks are very good and there are lots of people from all over. I went to see the air and water show and it was a great location to do it.
