This is it. Right here. The one, the only. The best! Giordanos is the best. Now granted, if you are from Chicago then the best pizza that you know of is your neighborhood pizza place. Thats just how it goes. However, Giordanos is a local chain. And theres usually one nearby. Chicago is obviously known for deep dish pizza. But, what most people dont realize, is that people from Chicago rarely eat the deep dish pizza. Chicagoans like thin crust pizza. Fact. The deep dish is good as a treat once in a while, but youre always going to get a thin crust. My personal favorite, and the only thing I ever order from Giordanos, thin crust sausage and green pepper. Nothing fancy. Thats it. Perfection. Like I said, Giordanos does do a good stuffed deep dish. A very good stuffed deep dish. On the rare occasion that I do get it, I typically get sausage and spinach. Cant go wrong with that either. Would I go back? Yes. I always do. In fact a few locations have popped up in a few different cities around the country and I seek them out too. Giordanos is one of two places that I need to hit every time Im in Chicago. Itll never let you down. And no matter what location you go to, youre still getting the same high quality Pizza. You will not be disappointed.

I cant say enough good things about this place. Love the location, I can stop by after a long day of shopping or for dessert after eating out or on my way for a walk to the lakefront. I love their chocolate malts! To die for! But then again so is the ice cream and hot cocoa! They are always giving out chocolate squares samples of all of their different flavors available for purchase. I dont like anything on my chocolates but chocolate. However, I tried the caramel chocolate: heaven! The service is super friendly! They once got our order wrong, no biggie. Told then it was fine. They promptly apologized and made a completely new order super quick. I was super impressed! Love the decor def gives u a feel of an ice cream shop from back in the day. Thats the best way I can describe it. LOL. Tons of different chocolate squares to chose from. U can buy a premade bag or make your own. Great souvenirs for anyone wanting to take a piece of Chicago with them. A place you MUST visit when you are in the area, you dont be diappointed!

If youre out and about in the city and need a quick chocolate fix, Ghirardelli is the place to go. The moment you step in, a friendly service staff will inform you of their monthly special and thereafter hand you a free sample. At this point in time, if you need to satisfy your craving, you should go at the free sample while continuing to browse the myriad of chocolate flavors that are available individually or as a gift pack. If your chocolate craving has yet to be satisfied, fret not. They have a cafe where you can order a freshly whipped up sundae (the double chocolate one is my personal favorite), sit outside and watch the world go by while indulging in rich, decadent chocolate. It doesnt get any better than that.

Those little chocolate squares in just about every imaginable flavor makes this place a must visit. And depending on the calendar, you can get squares in holiday packages such as Halloween and Christmas. My favorite squares are the Milk & Caramel, and the Dark & Raspberry filled ones. If you are not sure which squares to buy, the friendly staff is more than willing to make great recommendations. In addition to the squares, Ghirardelli has ice cream, drinks (hot and cold), cookies and brownies. While there enjoying your goodies, check out the history of this company and how it has grown to become one of the favorite places to indulge. And if the weather is decent, enjoy your treats outside in the stores sitting area.

I have been living in chicago almost 9 years and have never been to Ghirardelli until last night. A plus is that it is open late. We got here at about 10 p.m. on a Saturday night. It was a busy place. Greeted at the door with a chocolate square sample, yum thank you! I ordered the Salted Carmel Sundae. I had to order it to go because there is very little seating in the place and there wasnt a seat open. I waited probably 15-20 mins. for my sundae and as it was good it wasnt great. My hot fudge wasnt hot at all it was more of a solid mass of chocolate in-between layers of ice cream. To be honest I wasnt all that impressed. Im not so sure I will ever be back.

I dont know what everyone else is talking about. Whenever Ive been to the Ghirardelli Chocolate Shop, its always been pretty decent for a place thats CONSTANTLY busy. The people complaining about service being slow dont mention that this place is always packed so full that its hard to find a table to sit down at. The shop is wonderful- every single thing Ive ordered there has been absolutely delicious, and well worth the wait (and Ive never had to deal with "snotty teenager cashiers," but maybe these people just dont understand Chicago.). My favorite is the Nob Hill Chill Milkshake- its to die for!

The ice cream is amazing but the service not so great. I took my some of my family members that are visiting us from out if town here. We waited more than 30 min to get our ice cream. It was a little busy but the thing that bug me and other people off was that they were doing orders incomplete and leaving them on the counter so then they got backed up and the ice cream, shakes and all other things would melt because they were just sitting there for a long period. 3 people started screaming at the people that work there and they didnt even know what to say. Service needs to get better.

I dont know what other people get but the best dessert Ive ever had is there peanut butter chocolate Sunday! think of this... one layer melted peanut butter then chocolate then ice cream and repeated 3 times with nuts/whip-cream and a cherry on top. Perfection!.....They discontinued the best Sunday ever because of peanut allergies! Really!?!?! Cant a person with a peanut allergy not choose something with peanuts!!!! So does that mean we go into every restaurant and grocery store and get rid of peanuts!!! Ridiculous! 0 stars if I could!!

Kids? Kids? Why are you bouncing off the wall? Oh, thats right because youve been fed tons of chocolate. Come on, who doesnt love chocolate--what are you, some sort of freedom hater? In all honesty, the staff here is always super friendly and the prices, while expensive, are fair. Do yourself a favor, say "insert your name, you deserve a chocolate covered strawberry for just being you", and go do it. Their strawberries are insane, and so MASSIVE. Actually, if you get one--bring one to my office. Love their chocolate.

Were so lucky to have two famous chocolate houses across the street from one another. You can get your Hersheys fix and your Ghirardelli fix both just by crossing the street! Here at Ghiradelli, I recommend the cookie sundae which is plenty big enough for two to share. Dont forget your free chocolate square on the way in and purchase an assorted bag of extras for later! Service is quick, quality top-of-the-line and ambiance just perfect for a spot along Michigan Avenue.
