If you try to visit Cafe Brauer for a late lunch, note the kitchen is closed 2:00-3:00 pm to transition from lunch to dinner. It was an inconvenience but the weather was nice and my grandmother and I walked around the zoo. We returned to Cafe Brauer at 2:50 and were seated right away. The Asian chicken salad was better than the chicken quesadilla. Above all the sweet potato french fries with Sriracha aioli were amazing. As a French Fries connoisseur these have my stamp of approval for having crunch and texture in the center. Typically I enjoy sweet potato fries with honey mustard but the Sriracha aioli might be my new favorite. In the summertime on Tuesday afternoon from 5:00-7:00 pm there is live music on the patio. With a beautiful view overlooking South Pond and the city its a great place to sit and enjoy Lincoln Park at its best. The service is very slow!! We waited more than fifteen minutes before someone even asked what we wanted to drink. The salad and nacho portions are very small considering the price. Also no one asked if we wanted more ice tea or other drinks. We had to wave for about ten minutes before someone came when we needed a spoon for the mac and cheese. Considering that the terrace was not even full (max 20 tables) and they had 7! people serving that was very below what one could expect. The view is great and the food ok but the service really makes us reconsider coming here again.

This building is a premier example of prairie architecture, and was designed and built from around the turn of the century. The bottom area is a cafe, but the top level, which unfortunately is for special events, is the part that really stands out. Ornate metal arches and wide balconies that look out over a pond make this place a great spot for events or a lunch during a trip to the zoo. the food is regular cafe fare, and is decent.

My husband and I chose Cafe Brauer for our January 2016 winter wedding. The space was the perfect size for 120 guests. Our expectations were blown away with the fabulous staff, gorgeous & unique interior space, as well as fantastic, breathtaking views inside and out. It was the perfect space for our wedding reception. This is the perfect spot to really capture the beauty of all that Chicago has to offer. It was a dream come true.

If you want the best wedding in Chicago, book Cafe Brauer. We had our wedding last August and its the best venue. The porches on the sides are perfect for some fresh air and gives a great view of the city. A little on the pricey side, but well worth it. Made our wedding night memorable for us and all of our guests.

The building is beautiful and has a fantastic double view of the nature in Chicago and the skyline of the city. I knew immediately why so many people plan their weddings there. Its romantic, elegant, and stunning. I look forward to going back for Brunch on a sunny day.

This is a peaceful place to go on a weekend or a fall afternoon. I have never eaten here but love to go there and enjoy a Goose Island beer while taking in the scenery. Goose Island brews a special beer just for this cafe. Enjoy

The view from the patio is amazing. You side right besides the lake with birds flying around and you can see the Chicago Skyline on the horizon. I tried the half pound turkey burger and it was top notch.

Amazing example of Prairie School architecture. I visited for an event and loved the views of downtown from the outdoor veranda. In then summer they have a restaurant on the patio with views of the pond.
