I went to another bakery Cakes by Darcy before I came to this one. I wanted a custom cake and they said they could do on a 1/4 sheet (the smallest size) FOR $130.00.The smallest size in vanilla (I WAS INSULTED! YOUVE GOT TO BE KIDDING!) My jaw dropped! I called another bakery RHODES FAMILY BAKERY and they said they could do it on a 1/2 sheet (WHICH IS MUCH BIGGER) for $50.00. I am so glad I called RHODES BAKERY. UPDATE: So I picked up my cake from rhodes bakery. Prefect! I felt like I should have paid more for such a cute cake. It was only $46 for the cake. So when everyone sees the cake they love it. They were so impressed. Here is the best par: It tasted amazing it was moist and delicious. I am so annoyed that I have been wasting my money on cake that doesnt even taste good (Dry gross tasting cak) at Cakes by Darcy what a rip off. Dont waste your time on Cakes by Darcys overpriced dry cakes. Save a trip and go to the best bakery in Roswell RHODES FAMILY BAKERY (next to brookwood grill).

I had just the opposite experience of fashionista2021. I ordered a 1/2 sheet cake at Rhodes and when I picked it up it was short, probably only 3" tall, like a supermarket cake. I didnt think it would serve the number of guests I had coming and they didnt have anything available short notice so I stopped in at Cakes by Darcy on the way back home. They made me a 1/4 sheet on the spot that easily had just as much cake as the 1/2 sheet from Rhodes, it was nearly 6" tall. At the party the cake from Cakes by Darcy was devoured and the Rhodes cake was only 30% gone. All my guests raved about the cake from Cake s by Darcy. I will not go to Rhodes again.

In mid March I had ordered 24 cupcakes for my daughters baby shower. When I went to pick them up the end of March, I was told there were only 23 cupcakes. I asked why and the (foreign) lady said, matter of factly, she didnt know, but that there were 23. There was no apology or concern on her part what-so-ever. Now this order was placed weeks in advance. I had a certain number of people attending the shower. Why would a bakery short me from my original order? The cupcakes were tiny, and the icing didnt even cover each cupcake. Ive never had a problem with Rhodes Bakery in Roswell before, but this visit "took the cake".

A wonderful way to taste a memory from the old south. The caramel cake is just delectable! Cheese straws of perfection. Soft mild gingerbread boy cookies. Sweet iced sugar cookies. Fabulous chocolate icing, too. Lovely rolls and decorated cakes galore! It carries a legacy of the familys Atlanta landmark bakery. Do stop by and indulge your sweet tooth!

I decided to stop by today to pick up something sweet. Ive had some very good cakes and petit fours, but, the petit fours that I picked up today were far from good. They were overly sweet and the cake itself had this off taste to it. Honestly, they tasted stale. I expected much more from a bakery that has been in business that long.

I had them make my wedding cake and it looked awful, it literally looked like a child made it. Two layers were vanilla with raspberry filling and the other layer was red velvet. The red velvet was really good but the vanilla cake was so incredibly dry that no one wanted to eat it. Definitely not worth the money.

When their eclairs are fresh, they are WONDERFUL! I have had a few experiences where they were not fresh and I had to throw them away as soon as I got home. The owner seems to get offended if you ask about the freshness, which is a shame. Easy way to avoid that - make sure they are fresh!

Rhodes is the only bakery I will ever recommend to anyone. Everything is great, and always looks perfect. Their caramel cake is just like I had growing up-- buy a whole cake! Stays fresh for a week. Ill never go anywhere else.
