Great location since there are few competitors in the area. Marietta is undergoing growth and revitalization with its surrounding burbs. With the recent growth in the area thanks to the large hospital employer and all the surrounding medical offices, this cafe has no trouble getting business! This cafe is located in a stand-alone building at the top of an embankment so the parking is all down below it and on an incline. Be prepared for a hike up the hill and up 2 flights of stairs to get to the entrance. There is a ramp available at street level for anyone who needs alternative access. I found the interior to be designed primarily for efficiency and not for comfort. Wood tables with hard straight backed wood chairs are all that is available for seating inside. This screams "eat here, just dont stay here!" I couldnt believe the entire menu was scrawled onto black boards that hung 10 off the floor, high up on the wall in small, flowing script that I couldnt begin to read without squinting and getting a headache! Thankfully there were stacks of laminated menu sheets by the "Place Your Orders Here" window-counter. Yes, you heard me! Although the outside of the building and the name suggest a sit down restaurant, this cafe is more like a fast food stand. You have to pre-pay orders at a counter instead of being seated and having a waiter help you. This is ok for all the peeps who are on a 30 minute quick lunch break, just not what I, the casual mom, was seeking. After ordering, you receive a number for your table so that the servers know which table to bring the order to. Service for my order was exceptionally quick, but then again, I ordered soup. Not much prep required there. At the end, "guests" (LOL!) are expected to bus their own tables, again not what I am looking for. The menu offers salads, soups, sandwiches, and desserts. Unfortunately, little is available for those seeking a non-meat oriented lunch option. Not too much variety either. Much of what was listed on the menu was chicken based. The one hot veggie item, a veggie burger, is no longer being sold, even though it is still listed on the printed and the online menu. The only other option was cold hummus. Again, not what I was looking for on a cold, rainy winters day. All in all, this place had exceptional customer service by friendly, happy staff members. However, this place was not for me and I will seek food options elsewhere as Marietta continues to grow and new establishments present themselves.

We heard about this place and the reviews are mixed. I did notice more of the positives were during the breakfast hour but we went for lunch, timing of our day. This is a counter order place, and they bring your food out to you. Four of us went and one had half a C.B.A. and onion soup, the other three opted for burgers. First shock was the bill (pay as you order). No beverages, just waters, and the bill for the 4 sandwiches was a touch over $41 OUCH! and the insulting thing on top of it, as you pay, the counter person swings their iPad aroung to you and theyre are multiple tipping buttons. Tip? For what? Gouging and lack of class infraction = STRIKE 1 1st meal, C.B.A. and onion soup. The soup was nothing to right home about...in fact, avoid it. STRIKE 2 The sandwich...wow...Bad isnt quite the word that fits the bill for this nasty sandwich. Chicken breast? No. It was sliced chicken luncheon meat, NOT a chicken breast whatsoever. This sandwich was also served cold, I mean cold cold cold = NASTY = STRIKE 3 Applewood Bacon sounds great but they forgot to put it on the C.B.A. sandwich and 2 of the 3 burgers today. No Bacon = STRIKE 4 The three burgers were all cooked correctly. You have to ask to have it the temp you want, one medium rare, two mediums, other wise theyre made medium well. Ours were all cooked correctly, and the buns were soft and fresh. Burger 1. smoked Gouda, mushrooms, Applewood Bacon (forgot the bacon), mayo (forgot the mayo), NO lettuce, tomato or raw onion...all "3" piled on the burger. Screwing up = STRIKE 5 Burger 2. American cheese, mushrooms (did not order mushrooms on this burger), Applewood Bacon (forgot the bacon) Continuing this screwing up = STRIKE 6 Burger 3. American cheese, mushrooms, grilled onions (forgot the grilled onions). Are you kidding me on the order screw ups = STRIKE 7 Fries. They over-season their fries with sea salt & pepper. I actually liked them but I like a lot of seasoning. It was overkill. The fries were not eatable for the other 2 who ordered fries. Over-seasoning is unprofessional mistake = STRIKE 8 My Blue Cheese fries had "half" the number of fries as the other 2 and barely had blue cheese on them. Skimpy & Wimpy fries = STRIKE 9 Simply put. I wont be back. You have been Chopped = STRIKE OUT! GAME OVER!

The first time I went, I Ordered a Pimento Cheese Burger and Truffle and Parmesan Fries, Instead of a Pimento Cheese Burger, I got a "Pimento Cheese" sandwich with tons of cheese inside with no meat. I paid $8 for the burger. First timers should be warned to double check the order before leaving the restaurant. The cheese sandwich was way too salty. The fries which were flavored with the delicious aroma of truffle oil were slightly too-salty. The fries come in a portion large enough to feed 3 or 4 people. I was disappointed as the menu listed various original and creative items which I was looking forward to trying. I decided to try again, and I ordered the Thai Chicken Salad Sandwich served on a criossant. It was sensational. Im not a fan of raisins in my sandwich, but I was pleasently suprised with how well the sweetness and fruitiness blended perfectly with the spiciness and savoriness of the chicken. I ordered Canvas fries this time, and asked them to be prepared with less salt. I also ordered the "Three dipping sauces". The fries also came with ketchup. This time, they were fantastic and I enjoyed dipping and comparing the different flavors. The three sauces are unique, and contain subtle nuances of the flavors that are described in the menu. The interior is clean and modern in style, At lunchtime there are a lot of local area professionals who patronize.

Update: the owner reached out to me on Facebook and offered to recover the service and apologized for what happened in the restaurant. We cannot control our employees 24 hours a day as I well know so I have adjusted my review due to the rapid response of the owner. We actually really were enjoying this place and visiting it regularly following my dr appointments but we will not return after today. I had a hard Dr Appointment and wasnt feeling well after. Being 7 months pregnant and having to frequently use the restroom I left my salad which only a quarter of it was eaten with my tea that was almost completely full to go really quickly. When I returned a girl who worked there had all of my food stacked and was bussing the table completely. I understand the miscommunication but what makes me never want to return was her response "oh sorry, thought you were done". I told her "no...I had to use the restroom really quick". She just shrugged, no attempt to recover and an apology that showed absolutely no empathy. We will not return because of the customer service I was shown today which is unfortunate because we really loved the food. I would rather not pay 12.00 for a salad that I was not even allowed to finish.
