OK- so I never leave reviews, "good or bad", even when I say Im going to- I dont. However, this place is amazing!!! First of all, the have a clean and organized area that your children can play in while you and your husband/friend/mother/whoever finish your meal and wine! Why doesnt every family restaurant offer this! It is BRILIANT! They actually have someone looking after your child!!! AND they dont charge for this amazing/convenient service (obviously, you should tip the girl). The food is GREAT and our server (Sarah) was so incredibly sweet, and she genuinely seemed happy to be working there. One of the Chefs even stopped by our table to check on us. EVERYONE in Duluth needs to try this place; in fact, people should travel to Duluth to try this place. I went with my mother-in-law last night and I will be taking my husband and mother there tonight! Go- Go right now- Its awesome!

As you enter Piatto you are welcomed by smiling faces. Piatto was more than accommodating and helpful when it came to planning and ordering for our annual Holiday party. From start to finish the process was flawless and stress free. Amita took the time to follow up and accommodate last minute adjustments. The menu offers a wide variety of mouth-watering options. We had a large party so we were provided with a sampling of excellent entrees and handmade pastas. Everything was exquisite. The chefs take great care in selecting the best quality ingredients. For this reason I highly recommend going to the Piatto today!

New-to-me fresh food eatery on quiet Main St across street from the green music venue. Stopped in on a rainy, Monday afternoon for a snack. Had the fried green tomatoes appetizer, excellent. Five slices with crispy coating, goat cheese and balsamic reduction. And a small salad, also great, with roasted sweet potatoes, grape tomatoes, goat cheese and pancetta. Will come back for a pannini. Entrances on Main and stairs to back, lower parking lot next to tracks. Great neighborhood, small-menu hangout.

A dining place with an Italian name implies Italian food (pizza) AND espresso products. Anything else is pretend Italian. Though the menu shows several espresso coffees including cappuccino, all the way to a very exclusive cafe affogato - the espresso machine miraculously disappeared and the only option to order the liquid essence of coffee beans is by getting "regular coffee" which brings me to the conclusion - it is not an Italien place...

I absolutely love Piatto. The family that owns the restaurant is so genuine and welcoming. Theyre a great addition to downtown Duluth. The food is fresh and the kids room is such a wonderful touch to this restaurant! To think this use to just be a violin shop, theyve transformed into a downstairs bar and five star restaurant. And the Chicken Marsala and PIZZA are amazing! So fresh. I go once a week and have yet to be let down.

This restaurant is fabulous! Just visited for my 1st time, but I will be back. The fried green tomato with goat cheese was divine! Both pizzas were both delicious, we got meat lovers and Margerita, the surprise favorite was the Margerita. Cheesecake was on point, too. Just right! The staff were all nice and sharp and the atmosphere was pleasant. Very enjoyable experience!

Great place, friendly staff and the food is delicious. Try the risotto crab cakes and chicken penne. The Italian Margarita blew me away and I loved that the children were able to play supervised with a babysitter in a private childrens room which is free to all diners. The full bar downstairs was also nice although we ate upstairs.

Had dinner for the first time last Friday night, and it was fantastic Italian food at a reasonable price. Highly recommend the crab cake appetizer, and lasagna. My friends enjoyed the calamari and wood fired pizza as well. Staff was great. They also have a cool bar tucked into the basement.

They catered our lunch and learn today. I really enjoyed the lasagna, fruit salad (a great mix of fruit, not majority melon!!,) bread sticks and salad. I could barely finish my meal, it was so much food. It was delicious and definitely my new favorite Italian food in Duluth!

Service was not great, in fact it was bad. Think this was due not solely to our server, but from the fact that they appeared understaffed. Food was okay, not a huge selection. Seems to be more targeted to the bar area.

Excellent experience! I definitely recommend the salads and pizza. Excellent service, and my fairly shy kids (3.5 years and 1.5 years) enjoyed the kids area and felt comfortable. We will definitely be back!!
