This has been one of our family favorites until Sunday, September 4, 2016. Granted we went for brunch after church, and the crowd was ridiculous (no fault of the diner...the food is that good). What soured our experience was the waitress we had. She was waiting on the tables in the back near the kitchen. We were seated between 2 other tables. The waitress asked both parties at the other tables if they needed anything but she just glanced at us and never asked us anything. She also refilled my coffee in such a haste (literally mid stride) that she wet the extra napkins we asked for with coffee. Also, my son dropped his fork and we asked another of the staff for a fork, were still waiting for that. This is the first time weve ever had such bad service. I am thankful that the waitress was attentive to the other people when she ignored us.

If I could zero stars I would.... the pork chop special I had did not smell right and it tasted like sausage. I told the waitress I did not like my meal after one bite, I was told I couldnt send it back because I didnt like the food. Really now !?!?! Secondly my sister had the special with the salmon, shrimp and grits and also the catfish. My sister threw up ALL of her food prior to even finishing the meal. The quality of the food at Thumbs Up Dinero in Douglasville is severely poor. Makes me wonder what is going on in the kitchen as far as cleanliness, efficient rotation of the stock and proper storage of food. I havent been to this location in quite a few years and after todays experience I will not be returning, neither will my sister.

Need to change the name to thumbs down. First experience was good but there seems to have been a decline. Signed in on their log as there was a crowd waiting and indicated I would take counter seating for a party of 2. There were 2 seats but on the opposite ends of the counter and all tables were full. When two people left the counter I took a look at the list and noticed my name had been scratched off. I asked the hostess why my name had been scratched off and she snapped that she already called my name. Neither I or my wife heard her. When she supposedly called our names the only seats available were the two separate seats not suitable for a party of two. No need for a hostess to ever be rude to customers will not go back.

Thumbs up diner was a typical down south diner. Waiting on a table was pretty confusing. If you didnt know you had to sign in, you stay idle for a while and for locals that know they may get ahead of you. They need help when it comes to hostesses and waitresses but the food!? Thebombdotcom!!! I had their special the sweet potato waffle along with a butterflied chicken sausage and their popular spuds. I wasnt disappointed when I received my food and all of the earlier stuff about waiting on a table was out the window. If youre coming for brunch on the weekend just be prepared for the wait but just know that its worth it.

I think everyone in the town visits this place for brunch. The wait was crazy long for such a tiny town. But coming from downtown Dallas Im used to that. It was a little unorganized and as we waited, I observed the flow. Seems like it was all hands on deck, so much that there was no one controlling door traffic or sign ins. Some larger parties had to wait longer while others skipped the sign in line completely and went to sit at the high top tables making others wait even longer. That should not be allowed. The good was great though!

The food is AMAZING........especially the french toast. Omelets are great too. I must admit the service is pretty crappy because they are always packed on the weekends BUT if u can overlook that the food is absolutely worth trying. The crowds proves its great. Be prepared to wait for a table and not have your waitress there for every need. But your taste buds will thank u kindly. They r kinda pricey for a diner but the portions are huge. You will definately have left overs for later or lunch to take to work the next day.

The customer service was terrible at the Douglasville location. The food server spilled hot coffee on my white linen pants due to her sliding my plate to me instead of placing it down nicely. Then she had the nerves to look at me as if I did something wrong. The manager did give me a discount and apology. This was only my second visit to this location and both times this particular location have staff that need attitude adjustments...I will give the waitress Lexi a good review she did show me true concern.

This restaurant was so not what we expect... it was absolutely amazing. A friend had told me about the spot months ago and I wish I would have listened to her then. The proportion sizes are huge and the prices are extremely reasonable. The staff was friendly and very pleasant. They continued to check on us and made sure we had what we needed. We ate outside, and with the flowers and the decore it felt like we were in a little spot in Savannah. Great family restaurant!

I went to this location for the first time today and found the service to be much warmer than that of in-town locations. It was clean, the atmosphere was very nice and quaint with a mix of families, couples, and solo diners. The food was pretty good. I found the pancakes to have a good taste, but to be very dense, so much so that they could be thrown like a Frisbee. I will try the waffles instead next time. Overall, this is a great place to go for breakfast.

My husband and I are in the parking lot right now completely disgusted! As soon as we sat down we saw two dead cockroaches on the ground at the table right next to us and another one dying. If I saw that many just upon entering and sitting down how many more are in the kitchen? I showed my husband and I said we have to go NOW and so we left. I do not recommend this place for the simple fact that they had roaches in plain sight.

Great breakfast. Sampled the shrimp and grits (good, but wouldve enjoyed some sausage in it looks, French toast (very thick and very good), waffles (very thick), chicken strips (nothing special), and biscuits (dense while wheat affairs, not bad, but not the usual soft southern style). Wait time to get in during mid Sunday morning were long as the location was packed. But thats the sign of a good diner.
