This place doesnt hold a candle to the original location. We went this morning, served by an anxious server who messed up our order and my companions were done by the time I got my plate. It looked like it was all thrown onto the plate in haste, and the bread was soggy and the potatoes were literally burned black! The space is big and open and loud. Chairs barely fit under the table. Expensive and not worth it AT ALL. Our server aplogised by saying " I should drink more coffee". She didnt take the item off our bill, as any normal server would. Clearly customer service is not a strongly held concept. We will NEVER go back. This place can only hold on to its reputation from the original location for so long

Today when i walked into Highland Bakery in Decatur, they did not welcome me in. They pointed towards a table and told me to sit there. The table was against the wall, isolated. I was like "okaaayy" maybe the food will be really good since I read the reviews on this place before coming in. I ordered French toast and grilled cheese with scrambled eggs on the side. They brought the French toast, which is literally toasted bread and some strawberries on top. And they burned the grilled cheese and served it to me anyway! The food was TERRIBLE and the service even MORE TERRIBLE ! They are sooooooo unfriendly and disrespectful to their customers ! I will never never NEVER go back there again!

Sweet pastries are excellent, from cookies to tarts to eclairs; this is where it excels. Coffee is very good. Breakfast foods are good. Bagels are a travesty, like a gluten-free option, except it has gluten. and no cream cheese. Prices are okay. Parking is meh; theres validated parking in the garage at the end of the lot. Service is very good. The management does not always adhere to the stated hours, though. With a lot of competition in Downtown Decatur, this place needs to step up its game if its going to survive.

How does this place have good reviews? If you enjoy the original HB you will be sorely disappointed here The food isnt good and they leave tons off of the food that is listed on the menu They have no idea whats appropriate for toddlers and brought my kid out a giant plate that was super super hot to touch and then our fruit cup was in a tiny ramekin instead of an actual bowl with any real fruit in it. Awful awful awful ! We paid $60 for a terrible meal that I could have made myself

I want to start by saying I absolutely LOVE highland bakery. Their food is amazing and so is their service...usually. This particular time I didnt go to the Highland Ave location, it was horrible. Our server Heather was VERY inattentive. We had to ask for things several times and had to track her down to get refills on coffee and water. We even had to ask for her to out Ice in our water (who does that??) I will definately be going to the original location from now one!!

Ugh, I want to rate this place higher, its so close and we go all the time. The food is usually excellent, but the service is hit or miss, hence the low rating. The last couple of time were exceptionally bad, where we sat for 10+ minutes before being acknowledged and a floating server (very sweet) came to get our drink orders, and eventually our food. Not sure we ever saw out actual server the whole meal, both times. Very annoying.

Well the service was good. But the grits was Luke warm and no flavor. The soy so sage was flattened and not worth $2.79 usually most every where else gives you two. Here they flayed one to make it look larger(thats just being cheap) And the sweet potato biscuit was great but no apple butter like the other location. My friend however got the tofu scramble and lived it.

It is a nice cafe in the street of downtown Decatur. It has great menu to choose from and they bake everyday specials too. The staff here is friendly and they also take customized coffee orders. I really love Mocha Latte from this cafe as it has two different shots of espresso tossed on a layer of caramel which tastes fabulous on the rock with cream

The food is great, the service was terrible. We waited 30 min for a table when the place was only half full. Then we waited another 30 with 3 hungry kids before our order was taken. I had to go to the bar to inquire about our drink orders that had been placed when we first sat down. The food was great, but we wont be going back.

Amazingly delicious! Some friends brought us two boxes of their pastries and they were wonderful I havent tried everything, but the dinky doughnuts, the lemon bars, the cinnamon buns, the ham and cheese croissant, were all out of this world. Will have to get several boxes to take home. What a great spot!

I have eaten here several times and have enjoyed each meal. Their menu offers an extensive selection including sweet potato or ricotta pancakes, tofu, egg whites, and stone ground grits. The biscuits and toast are store made and tasty. They also friendly, attentive servers. Further, parking is free.

Shrimp and greats were great. My party also loved the smoke salmon BUT anything that requires syrup? You better bring your own! There is only this brown butter that does very little justice to the enormously large, dry french toast and sweet potato pancakes! I expect way more than this for $80!

Great bakery. Interesting breakfast and lunch menu. Always good service. Acoustics are such that it frequently loud, harder for quiet conversations although we found a secret table way in the back that was perfect for quiet intimate girl talk

Great brunch menu and the food is delicious (especially the cinnamon roll.) I had a great server (Heather), who was courteous and spot on with her job. Whenever we had a question she was quick to answer and has keen knowledge of the menu.

I enjoyed the food but the service was horrible. It was Sunday brunch... so I suppose working it rather than eating can be a drag. Will try the Midtown location for different staff. Great eggs and salmon benedict. Good atmosphere.

Food is as good as the rest of their places, but I have been blown away by the service at this location. Welcoming and remembered both my name and what I ordered when I returned. A staple of ATL, Glad they are in Decatur!!

Grabbed lunch for me and a friend one weekend when I was in the area. Used to the great food from the midtown location and was not disappointed. Will definitely be back when I am around Decatur.

Good brunch spot in downtown Decatur. Friendly staff and good food. Free parking in the decks right next to it which is a welcomed change from other brunch alternatives in the area.

Food is good but not unique. Everything here is overlypriced for the amount you get. There on honestly better bakery/brunch places to go that are thoughtfully priced

Great breakfast spot. It tends to be less crazy than the Highland location. Pretty much the same menu. Friendly service and tasty breakfasts.

Great food. Though everytime I go in it seems they have new servers. All except the pretty blond. And they close entirely too early.
