Like so many others, we decided to give this place a try based on the reviews for Fathers Day lunch. It was a disaster in every way. We waited an hour (we timed it) to receive our meal. And two of the four meals were kids menu items- one was a grilled cheese and the other was a mac n cheese. We watched four tables sit down after us and receive their meals before us. Finally, we addressed this concern with our waitress who assured us that ours was coming soon. She also said that she would talk to the manager about the service issue. We watched her speak with him, but he did absolutely nothing. I then went directly to the manager and politely told him that we have been waiting an hour for our food, and many others have been served before even after arriving long after we did. He told me he would look into it which was obviously his way of dismissing me. This could not have been a more condescending comment as he simply stood by the coke machine without any consideration towards correcting an issue. We were non existent to him. We were completely ignored. You could tell that this place does not consider service to be important. We tried to leave and get our money back from the cashier. But there wasnt even a cashier at the counter! People were standing in line and just waiting for someone to arrive. And this place is smart as they have you pre pay AND pre tip before you sit down. We were stuck. Food finally arrives and it is not even worth the "praises" it receives. Unless you do like a LOT of lard and a little meat and drown the meat in bbq sauce for flavor. In no way can I recommend this place to anyone who wants BBQ in our area. We were so excited and came away so very disappointed. June 27, 2017 - UPDATE: The owner contacted us right away and said that he would speak with the manager and refund us - over a week later still have not been refunded. Will never go back.

i am so disappointed in my recent visit to this place. let me first say that i have eaten here several times over the past year and it was always decent (but not anything i would go out of my way for). but yesterday sealed the deal that i will never return again. my work ordered a large portion of food for our employees. we ordered a big pan of brisket, a big pan of pulled pork, beans, coleslaw, and drinks... at first glance it didnt even look good! the brisket was almost soggy and the pulled pork almost looked like pulled chicken because of how dry it was. but i made myself a sandwhich anyway hoping the flavor was still there. the pulled pork had CHUNKS of fat through out and was so chewy i could hardly swallow what i had in my mouth. i ate half the sandwhich and threw it away. then i moved on the brisket hoping it would salvage my lunch... but nope even more dissppointing. it was so soggy it almost seemed like it was days old and they just reheated it. i ate 2 pieces and threw it out. my other employees all said the same and noone really ate a full meal. but it didnt stop there. 4 out of the 5 people that ate all complained about stomach aches and issues in the bathroom the rest of the day and into that night. i will NEVER visit again and i wish ZERO stars was an option. CUSTOMERS BE WARE!

Came from praise the lard today and dont plan on coming back. I paid with my credit card and they dont issue receipts. Instead it is emailed to you. Somehow my receipt was issued to a lady who called the restaurant right away. The owner of the restaurant instead of asking for my drivers license and or identification assumed right away we were scammers and called the police. He tried to stall my son. Of course we had no idea what was going on why the staff was giving my son dirty looks. He felt right away they were racially profiling us. I joked with him saying it was probably your beard and he said jesus had a longer beard. Anyways the police came and i handed them my drivers license to verify my identification something they should have done before calling the police. They even had back up. Then the owner said they were doing it because they were christians. Go figure. If they had some sense they could see we had a baby with us and we sat down for an hour to eat , i would think it it were a scammer they would order a huge amt and leave and not bring a baby along but they were more focussed on the profile rather than us as a customer for that weve decided not to come back and we were even planning to have our events catered from them. They lost our business.

I came here a few months ago and the bbq was ok at best. I decided to come back and try again and boy was I disappointed. I got a quarter rack (16 ribs on a pig) and got three ribs. 3 very dry, very hard ribs. No toast and no sides and for just 10 dollars. The rib itself was a good 6 inches long, but the edible part was about 2 1/2 inches long. The meat around the cartridge at the joint was still soft and good, but only after you got through the (very thick) surface which felt like it had been drying under a heat lamp for hours. Past the cartilage joint was no mans land. Upon biting into the end of the rib, my mouth was filled with a sticky mealy glue that was stomach turning at best. As for the sauces they are unremarkable, as if someone just went with their first try. I got this to go, and had to ask for napkins and still did not receive any. The employees seemed more intent an making fun of the last customer for buying an automatic jeep instead of a stickshift than they were with service. I can only imagine how they will judge you. Tl; dr: if giving money to their church is more important than the meal, you will love this. If you want real good ribs.. look somewhere else.

We stumbled upon this place this past weekend. SERVICE: All of the staff were extremely knowledgable about their menu. They asked us if it was our first time, explained how everything worked, and gave awesome recommendations. FOOD: awesome. I had the pulled pork plate with collard greens and the broccoli patty. The pork was very good! They dont put sauce on it, they have different sauces and you choose what and how much you want. The collard greens were some of the best i have ever had!!! i will definitly order them again. For dessert, we had the homemade banana pudding--i am a HUGE banana pudding person and i am very critical when it comes to how people make it. I can tell you honestly, i didnt like it. It was water down and wasnt very southern in my opinion. However, where they lacked in bana pudding, they won back in everything else!!! OH! and if you like spicy there is a sauce called "Stupid"--and i tell you what, it is. My husband LOVES spicy but he was about to order some milk to get the taste back in his mouth! Good luck if you try that one! I would tell everyone i know to eat here!!! However, I would warn them about the banana pudding!
