Pan American Bakery has been around for a long while, way before Buford HWY was cool as they say. Although they do not have an area for eating in, you can definitely hang out while savoring, or devouring -as was my case the last time I went there- their deliciously fresh "pastelitos." They have a great selection of baked goods, ranging from the cuban bread (bolillos) for sandwiches and hoagies to many sweet breads. My favorites still remain the ground beef stuffed little pies and the guava and cheese stuffed confections. They are both phenomenal in their simplicity. Really- try them out. While a place like this would be a dime a dozen in the streets of Miami, it is a rarity here in Atlanta. You should definitely check it out and eat tiny pies. They also have a great service for parties- you may order the mini-mini versions for your party ahead of time. Your guest will LOVE you for it, forget the cheese platters and veggie trays, go with these mini-pies and enjoy! They do not take cards so bring cash, and swing by next door and try these with cuban coffee!

I grew up in South Florida on Cuban sandwiches, pan con lechon and media noches, but in Atlanta, this little bakery makes the authentic Cuban and pastelitos, MUY BUENO! but this is old school, so bring cash!

This little place looks like a hole in the wall but they make great pastelitos. They made some awesome ones for my boss (Cuban from Miami). Made his 40th birthday happy.
