This restaurant serves escolar !!!! It is he calls it, as others do (when it isnt LEGALLY forbidden) white tuna. I was not warned of the effects of this fish when one has gastrointestinal problems. I was violently ill for 3 days. And while I cannot tell you how without being inappropriate and crude, you can look it up on line. This fish is illegal in several countries and most restaurants in the United States voluntarily dont serve it. I will never go back to the Lake and further, if a restaurant cannot take responsibility for what they are serving and warn people, they should be closed. Escolar is cheap and beautiful and quite good. Too bad its dangerous for some people to eat. Locals seem to like this place. I think they have no idea whats going on.

Wife in I went in the early evening to beat the dinner rush. Service was attentive, maybe a little over attentive due to the server not having enough to do. Sushi was fresh, but portions were small for the price. Rolls were unoriginal, and every one of them had mayonnaise or a Mayo based sauce in them, and wasnt listed as an ingredient in two of them. Ultimately this is one of the better places for sushi in Lake County, and can curb a craving, but for more authentically prepared sushi a trip to the Orlando area will be needed.

First time coming here and I must of just had a bad waitress. My food was brought out and I waited for over 15 minutes for my brothers food to come out before I got up and left. Also asked for silverware and never received it. I see all the good reviews on here but my food was dry and cold, wont be coming back.

I must say that this was the best Japanese food ever! I ordered the Miso soup and the Yaki Yudon..it was marvelous. The taste was amazing, sauce was delicious. The service was friendly and very attentive. My daughter and I will definitely return for another authentic Japanese meal. Thank you

I enjoy the food and atmosphere at Lake Dora Sushi & Sake. I wish the service was as GOOD as the food. I go there for lunch frequently and had to take my food to go, because it took so long to prepare. I STILL highly recommend the food.

The sushi chef makes some incredible specialty rolls and they arent expensive. Really good and flavorful combinations of things. The servers are vey friendly and the owner is a doll! Love going there. Never a bad experience.

Takashi is by far the best and most experienced sushi chef in the area. A master of his craft and obvious with every dish he creates. I am never disappointed. Want cheap go somewhere else want good? Then go here

We liked it better when it was a buffet. Now you sit and wait for food. I did not have sushi because I was hungry and the meal wasnt great. The sushi may be terrific.
