This was our first time visiting Skidders. The food was B+, flavor was good but a lot of the items we ordered came out not what expected; for example my husband ordered the Gyro platter and it came with several slices of meat, a few pieces of Pita bread, and cucumber sauce. All laid on the plate, not an actual Gyro sandwich. It didnt have onions and tomatoes as expected and when we asked the manager he said his tomatoes were on the salad! (Which they werent since he got the ceaser salad) he brought out a few slices and he said he wouldnt up-charge for them because my husband was confused... our waitress would look at us and just smile like we were rediculous for asking certain questions. We asked if they had sweet tea, and all she responded was "peach tea". She had a bit of an accent so we werent sure if she just didnt understand us. So we said "no, do you have sweet tea?" She said "peach tea. Sweet or unsweet". She was very very short with us. We had to keep asking for refills instead of her taking it upon herself to check on us. They kept being reluctant when we asked for substitutions instead of giving us a direct yes or no answer. They kept trying to rush us out of the door as soon as we paid. We couldnt sit and have any conversation. She also just laid all 3 ticket books in front of me when there was 1 person from each couple paying for their dinners (total of 6 people) instead of handing us our books seperatly. And then once we signed our checks, she reaches and grabs them practically from our hands. In this restaurant the guest is obviously not valued and treated properly. The price was very high for the quality of food and service we received. We wasted a night of our vacation on this obsurd place. I highly recommend you consider going to another restaurant for dinner.

My girlfriend and I had spent a weekend down on the beach and when we were leaving we decided to take a chance and go someplace we didnt know about to go eat. Upon entering, inside was pretty busy, so we decided to eat outside on the patio where there were still some people and enjoy the nice day. The hostess seated us, and then took our drink order. About 16 minutes later our drinks and waitress were still no where to be found. All the way at the other end of the patio there were two waitresses waiting on all the other tables and giggling about completely ignoring us. The three tables next to us which had people sitting at them, also had waitresses. Finally I just decided to go up to the hostess again and politely tell her she had seated us 16 minutes ago and our drinks were still not here. She came back right away with our drinks, claiming she had told someone. She took our orders and left again. A runner brought us our food, didnt ask for refills or anything, my girlfriend had noticed another couple seated next to us ten minutes ago, the husband made a remark about not getting any water or coffee, and my gf told them they might be waiting a while for service. So we were glad to see it wasnt just us being ignored. Finally, a waitress timidly came over and asked if we needed refills, she zoomed away quickly and brought them back, along with the check. Basically it was the worst hour experience I have ever had at a restaurant, not to mention this was only the service, my hashbrowns were extremely dry, they brought no butter with my toast, no refills, the tea was gross, my gfs omelette was watery, and so on.

This was our first trip to St Pete Beach so we are not familiar with the dining options yet. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. We found this place when we couldnt find anywhere that has something my daughter liked for dinner. She is not a picky eater but a kid will only eat seafood for so many days before they just want something simple. She hit that point tonight. She was miserable and starving. Im an advocate for making your kid eat whats offered... But this is vacation and she has been a trooper up to this point. Finally an employee at our hotel suggested Skidders. I looked their menu up online and my daughters face lit up. I called there at 630pm and told the gentleman how much my daughter didnt like any food at our hotel and checked if there was a credit card minimum on orders since I was going to be placing such a small to go order - just one item off the childrens menu. I was told no problem. The food was ready before it took me the 5 minutes to walk there. Peter, the gentleman who greeted me was amazing. Im not sure if he is a manager or owner but if he isnt he should be. He was the kindest person I have met down here. To top it all off, my daughter devoured her food. She said it was delicious. We will definitely be returning. If we dont have time on this trip, it will definitely be when we come back this summer.

DO NOT EAT HERE!!! This was a favorite place of mine and my husbands when vacationing in St Pete. The pizza was our favorite, the service when eating in was excellent. Our only complaint was the difficulties we would have placing take out orders. On this past vacation, we ordered breakfast for the first time. We both got an order of chocolate chip pancakes along with other items. When my husband picked our food up, they had only given us 1 order of pancakes. He waited as they prepared another order. He came back and we ate, and as I got to that last few bites of the bottom pancake, I noticed 2 GREEN BOOGERS wiped on the bottom of my last pancake!! I was disgusted! We have figured that the cooks were mad about this 2nd order of pancakes being made. It makes me sick as this WAS our favorite restaurant in town. We will no longer be eating in or carrying out! Dont take a chance on eating boogers!

Such a fantastic meal! So suffering with coeliac for the last 7 years or so Id always found going on holiday outside of the uk to be alittle bit of a struggle. However, Skidders made my dining this evening extremely easy! I had the meatball pizza (which is made completely from scratch!) which I have to say was probably the best pizza I have had since becoming gluten free. We were greeted at our table by Peter who went though the menu clearly stating which items would be safe for me to eat and which I would have issues with! And to top it off the bill was a lot less than what I was expecting for two people dining! Thank you very much Skidders! I definitely would reccomend to anyone in the St Petersburg beach area, this is a must on the Gluten Free options! (Plus Peter also pointed us in the direction of a 100% gluten free bakery/cafe called Craft Kafe owned by Teddy)
