Just returned from a week on Sanibel and had four visits to Cips. Ive been visiting Sanibel for over 10 years now and Cips is a refreshing change to what is on the island. Folks, lets not poorly rate Cips for "nothing special" or "overpriced"...this is a casual eating establishment with quality made from-scratch meals. Trying to compare Cips against a 5-star restaurant is not comparing apples to apples or hoping to pay Perkins prices. Highly recommend: Buttermilk Chicken, St. Louis style rib plate, sloppy joes, anything with their freshly cooked chips and slaw. Oh, they have excellent ice tea and coffee. Clean, comfortable, spacious, friendly staff. Food was well prepared, hot and consistent from each visit. Cant wait to go back.

Made reservations for my wifes birthday. We are vacationing on the island. We decided to go here cause Il Cielo looked better, but we were with 3 small children and this place seemed more kid friendly. Food was utterly regular, bland, and not good quality. Ive never eaten a 34 dollar steak that lookes like an Applebees 10 dollar sirloin. The service was ok. He forgot my coke and our waters werent refilled until we asked. It wasnt terrible food. It was just not the food you expect for the price. Wings were terrible. Shrimp Cipriani made my family member sick. Didnt even order dessert in fear of it matching the rest of the meal. Its not a 1 star only cause location is nice and hostesses were very sweet and nice to us.

My parents took us there for a family dinner on the eve of our departure. Its one of their favorite places to eat. The food and service were amazing. As good as it gets. However, the seating is open & there was a large party near us who were LOUD, rude, and their kids were running wild all over the place. I dont blame Cips for this, but I did question seating them right next to the door & putting us, a party of 7 right next to them. There were two other couples sitting near them as well who were not happy either. We basically had to eat and leave, zero conversation, because you had to yell to be heard.

We have been coming to Sanibel for years. Have eaten at most of the restaurants. Cips is by far the best service and food on the island. SARAH was out waitress and she was awesome. I would recommend them over anyone. We have been here for 10 days and have eaten here 5 of the nights. We tried the peel and eat shrimp, poke martini, lots of filets. All meals were excellent. Thanks for the great experience. We will be seeing you guys next year for 10 days. To the rest of these people that have not developed their pallet yet, it will come and you will learn to appreciate them.

We went during happy hour and ordered the chips, which were outstanding, and my boyfriend ordered ribs. I got calamari and the tuna appetizer as my meal and the both of us thought the food was very good. We went when they had just opened so the service was good but we had to chase down another waitress for some things we had asked our waitress for. Its a locals joint...it is very cozy and the outdoor area looks very nice but it was too hot that day for us to enjoy it.

After mixed reviews about many of the restaurants here we decided to give cips a try. Went here for steaks. We had the special for the night. Ny steaks with cabernet sauce Bleu cheese and fried onions served with scalloped potatoes and asparagus. Steaks were delicious. Sides were good. Both medium as preferred. Dinner was delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant for the food. Wine and cocktails were not as great as the food. But they were average.

I order lunch from here at least once a week!! Im pretty boring and usually get the same three items but Ive yet to be disappointed! (BBQ sandwich, yum!! The spinach salad with blackened chicken is delicious! I usually order dressing on the side. You have to try the buttermilk chicken!!!!) While I usually order to go, Ive dined in the outside patio and highly recommend grabbing a table there if you go. The servers are friendly and attentive.

We celebrated our final night, of a 2-week Anniversary vacation in Sanibel, at Cips. Maureen, our wait person offered us personalized, excellent service. My Spring Roll Appetizer, and Quinoa Salad were both excellent, generously proportioned/my husbands Sunset Shrimp app and Swordfish Special entree were truly delicious. The setting is lovely, and our table on the terrace outside...with fans and bug lites was peaceful, private, but FUN!

We ate dinner on the covered porch, and everything about our evening was enjoyable. The setting was great, lush and private. Everyone enjoyed dinner. The food was delicious, plain and simple. The one issue is no kids cups. Giving a little one a glass cup is chancy. Most patrons were dressed nicely, and I felt a bit underdressed in my shorts. Our service was excellent. I highly recommend this place.

Made reservations and glad we did, the place gets rather busy. All for good reason though, the food is very good. Great cocktails menu. Had a tropical screwup and ordering a ciptini now. Had the Buttermilk Chicken, nice change from having seafood dishes the last couple days. Theres plenty of seafood dishes here too though! Loved the outdoor seating, was quieter and the candles kept the bugs away.

Stayed on Sanibel Island for 2 weeks and this was by far the best restaurant that I ate at. The menu selections are very creative. Plate presentation was unique. Portion sizes were good. The food was colorful and very island like. Our waitress Reagan provided excellent service and was very knowledgeable of the menu. Highly recommend all visitors to make a stop at Cips.

Entree sides seem cafeteria like....small dessert portions...beef tenderloin entree is great & is comparable to Mad Hatter & Sunshine Seafood. If you are looking for indoor party of 2-4 romantic Mad Hatter (indoor seating) / Sunshine Seafood (mainly outdoor seating), bigger groups Cips (indoor or outdoor).

Went to Cips for the happy hour. The staff is friendly and the service is fast. The drinks are priced right and the bartenders have a heavy pouring hand. Definitely worth a visit if you havent been before. We had the calamari and the caprese pizza both were delicious.

Great food and service! My family of four went here for dinner one day, and the waiters were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The food was delicious, came out fresh and fast. They had a great kids menu, which was nice to see. We would definitely come back here!

Not bad! The bar looks like it is built under a ship that came through the restaurant. The food was enjoyable and there was friendly service. Felt comfortable bringing my young children here. Snapper tacos were decent. Ill try something different next time.

I am not sure how we have missed this place during trips to Sanibel. The food was amazing and I highly recommend the fresh catch. Even our kids thought the food was great and they are tough critics. We will be back and look forward to our next visit.

The fries are absolutely amazing and looking at the menu it sounds very exciting but the food is average for the price point. The BIG drawback is there are fruit flies everywhere! I dont like swatting at stuff while I eat and that is all I did
