This place and the staff are amazing. i placed a sizable order of pies and pastries for the Christmas holiday as family was in town and I wanted everyones favorites. I even ordered a minced meat pie for my husband, because this is his FAVORITE!!! Well, things seemed to be complete, I placed my order, paid for the order and was all prepared to put up the order on day I requested. Well, 2 days before I was to pick up my order, I received a call that the supplies needed for the minced meat pie had not arrived in the shipment and no more would be coming as the holidays would be over. NO!!!!! I expressly ordered from here for the minced meat and I shared that with them. I kept the remaining order with them and moved on. But wait, it gets better........ The day of pick up, I received another call. I was told that a trip was made to the store to pick up all the items needed to make my husbands beloved minced meat pie, FROM SCRATCH!!!!! This place and its staff are amazing. They went ABOVE and BEYOND for me and my family!!!!!! Thank you, thank you for making our Christmas sweeter than ever.

This is my favorite sandwich place in the South Shore area of Tampa. I normally order the "Dirty Bird" which has sliced turkey, bacon. grilled red onions, Swiss, and a flavorful "Dirty Bird" sauce served on Cuban bread. Its pretty greasy but Im fine with that because in this case fat=flavor and I have a high metabolism. Ive also had the "Reuben Cuban " which is a Reuben on Cuban bread instead of Rye. Since I dont really care for typical Cuban sandwiches besides the bread, or rye bread on a typical Reuben, this has the best of both worlds and was really good. They also have a bakery and the only thing Ive tried from there is the cheesecake which was satisfactory. As far as service goes Ive never had to wait more than 10 minutes for my food even when they appeared pretty busy. Since its near Sun City where a lot of retired people live it seems to be busy outside of normal business lunch hours.

I eat the "Cuban" a couple times a week if that. I had one today it was packed full of ham. Its very hard to finish a whole one. I highly recommend the Cuban, the monte Cristo, and a the country fried steak dinner which could use a little more pepper and salt. I dont get why people would stop going somewhere when they have a sandwich not up to their expectations it makes me laugh inside. Probably because they dont have enough food stamps and want more free stuff. Anyways try the Cuban Ill always come back for one. Forgot to add the cheesecake is amazing I like the chocolate mixed one. Ive also tried the little oval mouse cake also amazing and the chocolate cream pie I wasnt to found of tasted kind of fake like hard to explain. Try this place out!

Im sorry to say, the Hot Tomato lost our business last night. We walked in for two sandwiches and some sort of dessert. The lady behind the counter was so irritated because it was 7:40 pm. She did not want to serve us cause "they closed in 20 minutes". So we left & went somewhere else. Really??? I mean everyone wants to get out of work on time but the customer is supposed to come first!! Our whole family has spent a lot of money there since the day they opened the doors. When family comes into town we always go there to grab sandwiches. If you dont want our money 20 minutes to closing, I guess you dont get it at all now! Unbelievable!

In the beginning this place was excellent. Im a regular and have seen the quality of the food go down but the up charges and prices have gone up. For starters, the large café con leche is still 3.99 but now comes in a medium cup comparable to a "grande" at SB. The Cuban and dirty bird sandwiches have less meat on them and the focus is the bread. The gyro is one to avoid. The sauce was watery and well, order something else. My favorites are the still the tuna melt and Philly steak (Beware there is an up charge now for mushrooms, lettuce, Cuban bread etc). Overall the place went from 4 starts to 3 - OK.

Stopped here on way to Orlando based on positive café con leche review. They use Bustel & it was delish. Had a tasty foot long Cuban sandwich to go w/it. Shared 1/2 w/my son who eagerly ate it although he doesnt like cheese (which says a lot). Teenaged nephew REALLY liked meatball sandwich, couldnt finish it & asked for a take out box for later (which also says a lot). Hubby liked his beef sandwich. Patient & Friendly service who wishes us a safe journey on our way out. AWESOME strawberry shake made w/fresh strawberries topped w/whipped cream =)! So pleased we stopped. Id go back if we ever return to area

Great shop to stop in for a fresh made sandwich. They offer many combinations and types of sandwiches, soups, and desserts, all at a fair price. Service is friendly and helpful, and they can get you in and out quickly if your on lunch break and limited on time. The soup was tasty, hot, and full to the top of the cup, drinks are self serve, so refills are included. Plenty of parking in the large lot, and if there during lunch rush hour, dont worry, the staff is fast and can get to you quickly. Glass counter full of tasty sugar treats awaits those with a sweet tooth.

Their Cuban sandwich is basically a good ham sandwich on sub-par Cuban bread. Way too much ham and if there was any mojo pork on it, it wasnt perceptible. If you order it all the way, beware - they put ONIONS on it. Been eating Cubans my whole life from Tampa, never had onions on a Cuban. Thats sacrilege! They have some pretty good baked goods and other sandwiches. Overall, Id go back if I was hungry and in the area, but if I want a good Cuban or devil crab, Im heading to Tampa.

Nice place eat. Food quick and simple. Can sit outside or inside. Very clean and friendly. No public restroom available. All orders done at counter and pick there too. Plenty of seating for 30 inside. Cards accepted. Plenty of bakery items if you have a sweet tooth! Single serve plastic ware helps with clean up. Menu digitally placed on 4 huge overhead tvs. Plenty of choices for breakfast and lunch as well as desert. Prices are reasonably set for the area. Dig in!

Horrible Cuban sandwiches! They advertise mojo pork on their Cuban sandwiches, however there is very little on the sandwich. Plenty of the Cheap Meats but very little of the flavorful mojo pork that makes a traditional Cuban sandwich!!! In other words you can buy a Cuban sandwich from a gas station that tastes just as good as their "alleged award-winning" Cuban sandwiches at Hot Tomato!!!! Dont waste your money here.

Just went to the hot tomato for the second lunch in 2 days...Italian sub is 150% authentic with best bread I have had in 15 years! Today I tried the humble tomatoe sandwich made with fresh ruskin tomatoes on toasted wheat...a perfect blend of savory and crunch, outstanding sandwich. ... Brittany suggested a sweet treat ,I chose the chocolate eclair and it was wonderful.... best lunch ever!!!
