I live in North Port fl. And drove over to Punta Gorda location for lunch and when I arrive I was greeted with no trays and I asked for one teice while trying to pay for the three meals. First I was told by the young lady taking my money its my first day and I dont know where they keep the trays. I asked another worker that just walked up on us for some trays and he said he would go get some (never to be seen from again). We just grab our drinks and go find a table. My family and I help ourselves to the buffet to find out the were all out of silverware so they start handing out plastic silverware. This is not what I expected for my $50.00. I will now let you in on the food. Really , Twice I went for a piece of what they call steak and twice they didnt have any ready. I did manage to get a piece and half of it had so much gizzle that I couldnt cut it off with a steak knife I finally received 20 minutes after I sat down. It took 25 minutes for the restaurant to have cleaned silverware. We left right after the tough steak and vowed to never return. Please trust when I say if you have a different option for lunch choose that option. It is an all you can eat buffet just a bad one.

Went ther today for Thanksgiving, the food was not bad but the service was terrible. The bald headed manager was very rude to a customer, she did not see a sign posted "please wait to be seated" normaly its seat yourself but a busy day like that it is best for them to do it, the manager started yelling in a aggressive voice "You will be seated when we seat you and not a moment before that get in line!" I witnessed this from the salad bar this woman did nothing to get this treatment she was very upset as her kid was with her, just moments before I did the same thing as it is confusing and was seated right away and treated with respect. shortly after I sat down and saw a friend of hers go to the same manager calmly explaining she was very upset and was hoping he could say sorry for being so rude.. the manager raised his voice and said maybe you all should leave if you dont like how I run things, they asked for a refund he said get out now and they would not because of the refund he called the police and had them removed! unbelievable no customer deserves treatment like that on a holiday after waiting in line for a hour! he should be fired that guys a joke.

My first experience ever at a Golden Corral was HORRIBLE!!! The bathrooms at this place ARE disgusting as I sat there I witnessed 2 different customers mention the bathroom was dirty and nothing was done. I witnessed our waitress very slow and she just didnt look right at all. I finally asked her if she was ok. She said no "I have the flu". I snapped as a healthcare worker I know that this is a big no no. I asked if her manager knew she said "Yea they know". I flat out told her you cant work being sick you have now contaminated all these people in here. I would have asked to speak to the manager but by the looks of the place you can tell that he doesnt care! I WOULD never visit Golden Corral again this place has ruined it for me. Wish I would have read the reviews before I went.

Im struggling to write this review without being overly harsh. We got here at 7pm (2 hours before closing). It hasnt been busy, but there still seems to be a great deal of food missing. No peel & eat shrimp, no butterfly shrimp, steak has been non existent the entire time, the shrimp tacos were good but arent being replenished and we wont get into what happened to my daughter. Our waitress was wonderful (but had no name tag), the manager was okay, the guy at the steak station was more interested in leaning over a cart and eating than helping guests or cooking food. Or experience here is typically better than this, but this visit was horrible. Hopefully just an off night by most of the staff.

The food is good and the restaurant is clean. I really enjoyed the steaks cooked to my liking. One major problem, there was a very large black man looking at my son through the crack in the bathroom stall. My husband come in to check on our son(doing number 2) in the bathroom like he was doing every minute for about the 5 minutes until it happened and saw the man n the act. We called the police and the manager side with the big black guy who was looking at my son through the crack. I was very displeased with this and will never return to this restaurant because I get a nauseous feeling just writing this. The manager looks like a handsome drill sergeant but severely lacks empathy.#good food

I really only have one thing to say about this place: SALT. The steaks were soaked in a marinade that might as well have been pure salt. Unedible. When I Mentioned it to the manager, she said they come from the plants that way and there was nothing she could do about it. The batter they use for both the fried chicken in the fried shrimp is almost as bad. In fact, everything that doesnt come fresh from the salad bar has too much salt in it. You wonder, with all the seniors eating here with high blood pressure, why they dont get sued on a monthly basis. And why the regular patrons dont just drink sea water instead. Its cheaper.

My waitress was absolutely wonderful. But the cook they have Grilling the steaks has no personality he didnt smile didnt talk and he constantly gave me the wrong cut of meat. all I wanted was medium rare and I kept getting rare or well-done. It was so bad that I even took a picture of a piece that I asked for it as medium and it came out so rare is blood red. I understand its not a steakhouse but I do expect to get my steak cooked properly and friendly staff to deal with. I understand some people arent happy with their job but they still need to make the best out of it. He ruined my evening with his pathetic attitude

From Mrs. Round: We trave) about 20 miles to eat here. Great selection, reasonable prices. Ok the building is not new, but it is pleasant. The staff is friendly. Th,e food is great!! The chili and chips- the chips are light and cruncyh and not salty. Best new England clam chowder. Steak and prime rib -yum yum. Add some mushrooms, make your own great salad and the turtle cheesecake is put of this world good. Senior specials during the week. I recommend this place to everyone. Best value in town..

My experience at the Golden Corral is generally favorable. The only negative at the restaurant in Punta Gorda Florida was the front room for guests was very cold. The back of the restaurant referred to us by the waitress was much more comfortable. As for the food it was delicious. Especially the prime rib. The desserts were very good with the exception of the "ice cream" which was terrible.
