I have lived in Polk City for ten-years. I have always avoided this establishment owing to unsanitary conditions. They had a good Saturday burger special, so I had given them a second chance. I took my son to Country Angels on Saturday for a burger. The waitress did not know if the special was still in effect, so she asked her moronager. She then told us that the burger special was no more but that they could make a Rueben Burger. I ordered two, one for me and one for my son. The waitress brought my son his first. Anyone with a shred of culinary knowledge know that a Rueben is corned beef with sour kraut and thousand island dressing. My sons burger had only thousand island dressing. You cant expect townees to know how to make a New York creation. That was only the beginning They served my son but not me. I was raised properly. My parents taught me to not eat until everyone is served. After a few minutes, I gave my son permission to eat his food. After an insufferable delay, I got our waitresss attention. She went back to the kitchen. Unfortunately, she got someone elses order. Next, I walked out of the restaurant for a breath of fresh air to send them a message. No dice. No food. My son finished his lunch. I then told the moronager to cancel my order and let me cash out for my son. He told me to deal with our waitress. Unfortunately, our waitress was engrossed in a conversation with a friend. I gave her a twenty, told her to cash out my son, keep the change, and cancel my order. We then split. If you like a dirty restaurant, lousy food, and substandard service, by all means eat at Country Angels. If you have a modicum of self respect, avoid it

This food is disgusting. The first time I came I ordered a ground beef steak with mashed potatoes and beans. The ground steak had no flavor at ALL, and was way undercooked. The gravy was salty as hell. I do mean SALTY! Salt was all I could taste. I thought maybe I just ordered the wrong thing, so I gave it another shot. The fried chicken was slit in pieces to check for doneness (which shows they dont know the proper temp or time to fry chicken), and it was fried in fish tempura batter?!?!?!?! Huh??? This NOT indicative of food in the south (which i grew up on). The only seasoning they know of is salt. They also served us orange, lumpy grits (supposedly cheese grits) that had no flavor whatsoever. Im sorry, but people probably come here because its this itty bitty citys staple for food, but it sure isnt because the food is good. Its like theyve been eating bad food for so long that they dont know what good food tastes like.

I absolutely love this place! We have been there for both breakfast and lunch and have always been happy. It is good country cooking at great prices. Breakfast is good (biscuits and gravy are amazing), but lunch is even better. I had the chicken quesadilla and it was awesome! It was so huge that I took it home and spent 2 days finishing it- they must have put a whole chicken breast in there. My husband got a big burger which he also loved. We got a kids meal for our son- fish sticks with fries- and had plenty to take home. The next day I actually pulled out 7 fish sticks to reheat and give to my son. We just had so much food leftover! And the last time we were there our waitress came up to us and offered us onion rings because she said the kitchen made too much! How amazing is that? They are definitely a hidden gem :)

Good stuff. Local homey diner type atmosphere - country kitchen style. Breakfast, lunch, dinner. something for everyone. Western omelette spectacular with home fries, toast, endless coffee and ask for well done bacon! great service. also great over easy eggs/hash etc. Lunch and dinner, varied menu, specials, great vegetables (not overcooked!). Limited parking but locals double up on parking and just ask folks to move, or park nearby and walk. no big deal. Reuben sandwich tasty, sauerkraut not obnoxious. Keep hearing pizza good, havent tried yet. Spaghetti usually is good (especially on AYCE nites. Same with fried catfish and other things. Good stuff.

Quaint inside decor. Waitress really nice. Southern style feel. Prices from 3.99- 8.99 not including drink. Got the Angel Stuffer one pancake, eggs, sausage, bacon, bread (toast or biscuit) then potato (home fries or hash brown) or grits and a drink for 6.99. Good deal! BUT pancake was crunchy, eggs - decent, bacon - fake. Sausage was good. Toast was good. Got hash browns asked for crunchy - wonder what not crunchy as because these were not and soggy tasting. Waitress was sweet (tall dark brunette in late 20s) . Most likely never will go back.

This place packs out for breakfast and lunch every day. A remodeled dining room gives it a clean, homey feel. Food is good, reasonably quick and the wait staff has been really friendly. Parking is extremely limited right in front but plentiful on side streets nearby. Looking through the kitchens order window suggests the need for a real good cleaning or painting. Hours change periodically, mainly for breakfast.

The kitchen in this place is absolutely disgusting. If you get the chance look up the health departments records for this place, Or just take a peek through the window or door when a waitress walks out. I wont ever go back here. Bad service, the food isnt even remotely good and the kitchen and dining room are always very dirty.

Horrible!!!! Cesar salad consisted of bad lettuce, stale croutons and American Cheese!!! The pizza came out with raw dough and tomatoe paste for a sauce not to mention America Cheese for the pizza! Gonna send this to the better business bureau and also the health department!!! They need a wake up!!!!

Country Angels lives up to the name. This is a very country-style restaurant full of good ol American salt of the Earth types. Expect gritz as an option and a southern draw to the waitress voice. The food was better than I expected and I would visit again if I were in the area.

This place is awesome!!!! I love their breakfast, good southern cooking with a smile, a regular destination of mine. If you go get the country special I think it is called eggs bacon ham piled on three biscuits with cheese covered in sausage gravy. Darn good!

The food and people are great, but I can never get a parking space and there is no parking nearby that doesnt say youll be towed away if you use it for this restaurant. I would go much more often if I could get in.
