Okay for some things, but watch out! I go there every now & then when I get the bug to try something new. I can spend an hour there, just looking at all the interesting foods and products they carry. Their unique Feta Cheese dip is wonderful-- my favorites are the Sundried Tomato Feta dip and the Garlic feta dip. They carry some things that you cant find elsewhere, like frozen Kataifi pastry, and many different cheeses. That being said, Watch out! If you are not careful and have a strong will, you will definitely walk out with 2-3 times more stuff than you wanted. I decided to try some new coffee, and asked for 1/2 lb to see if I liked it. As owner James is filling the bag, he says, "Oh, only leetle bit left, you take rest?" Naive me says," Okay, sure!" LOL I walked out with TWO lbs coffee, that I didnt even like and ended up taking to work! More recently, I decided to purchase some of their prepared meals. Big mistake! I was told that the first item was $xx per pound, the second Item was $xx per pound, so I told her I would take one of each -- meaning one *pound* of each. So, she gave me one stuffed *container* of each, which totalled about six pounds each. I about stroked when I was rung up, but didnt make them put some back. So, in a nutshell, its a fun place to shop, you get to try lots of samples, but either be firm in the quantity of food that you want, or just tell them you want half of the amount you really want to purchase!

The food was amazing, but the experience wasnt great. We were ordered some pork and were told that it "came with" several items. We were also told to go ahead and have a seat and pay when we were done. When we got to the register, we found out that "comes with" means "you will be charged for these heaping containers by the pound." We were expecting a 20-30 dollar bill and were charged 80. If you try to ask them about pricing they dodge the questions and give misleading answers. On top of feeling completely cheated by the bill, all of the tables were dirty and the owner and employee were incredibly pushy. The only thing that made me give 2 stars instead of one is that the food is truly something special and there are things in the market that are difficult to find elsewhere. However, Im not quite sure if that is enough to make up for their shady business practices. I may be back. I probably wont. If you choose to go, be firm with the word no. Ask for exact pricing on menu items and insist on paying before you eat.

Overall, a pretty good place, but buyer beware. Canned/jarred foods - make sure you cheek the expiration date. Some of the stuff has sat on his shelf for years and is waaaay past expiration. Deli food - this is the real reason to go there. Great selection of hard to find foods. However, the way they try to upsell is extremely annoying. For example, I asked to buy a pound of feta cheese - which sells for $10/lb. The block of cheese put on the scale was 2.3 lbs. And they asked if "that worked for me". Told them I wanted a lb and they told me that it would "keep for months". Its gotten so bad, that they have taken their small containers off the display shelf - so they only have medium and large visible. Ask for a medium and they immediately fill it up - even if you ask for half. They do have small ones, but they are under the counter. I guess its not all bad though, their feta dips and chicken salad rock. Be firm and say no or youll get bilged.

I give the owner credit-he stocks the unique items you cannot find anywhere else in town, plus he is kind to let you sample his food. And I have never bought or sampled anything I did not like, OK? The problem is, and I hear this often from other people who have been there, is that he is a bit of a trickster and gypsy. If you like what he lets you sample, he is really quick to scoop up a pound or a pint of it, so be prepared to say NO firmly. Also, if you want a pound of something, he will say "its a little over, is that OK?". You end up with a pound and a half or more. He will mix in inferior dry goods with premium ones as well. So why go at all? I tell people he tries to make a living in a difficult market, and by selling a little more here and there and doing a little high pressure sales it maybe makes up for slow days. Plus, the food is good or he would have been out of business a long time ago.

Absolutely amazing deli. Fresh meat sliced for you....love the proccuito. Their sandwiches are so very good and the prices are good. My favorite is the gyro ( it has hummus, tabuli and tzaziki sauce mmm) as well as the proccuito Sandwhich. They ALWAYS offer you samples, too! Their olives are great- some of the best olives i have had and a great variety. And their deserts are delectable....you have got to try the baklava!! They have a really nice selection of craft beer and cool wines. Also, candy from all over the world. The owners are very sweet and will get to know your order once you come in at least 3 times. Love this place! A hidden gem in Pensacola that more people need to hear of.

Look, the owner is pushy and will try to get you to buy so much stuff. If you dont like it, say no. Thats just how he is. The food is amazing, though. Best gyro and muffuletta in town. Pro tip: Call ahead your order. He will say 10-15 minutes. Allow 20 or more so when you go in, you can grab the order and go. Also, they do have small containers that are hidden that you have to specifically ask for over and over. Thats just how it is, but the food is well worth it. Oh, and to those complaining about the prices, look up at the BIG board. It has prices. I have actually had to recheck the board on some things.
