I doubt the people giving 5 stars to this crap house are the real customers. I think the 5 star reviews are written by the insiders of this restaurant or someone who has never tasted any thing better than the dog food. As you enter this place, it appears like a very simple informal place but wait till to sit down and see the menu, the prices are vey high. Things that we expect to be free, like chutney are $3. (imagine paying extra $3 for Ketchup at McDonalds). All food tastes the same, because they use the same gravy for their recipes. The hostess was rude to my wife. Water was served warm, as they did not have courtsey to add ice to the tap water when the outside is 95 degrees hot. We ordered tandoori roti which was very small, $5 per order of 2 chapattis. You cannot order one. I think their attitude towards Indians is worse than towards the Americans. The waitress who was punjabi like us did not initially let us choose naan instead of rice. But we heard an other waitress offering this to an American customer at the next table, we asked our frowny waitress about this and only then she gave us the naan. This is a rip-off place.

I went there December 13th 2014 when I drove down to I-Drive to meet my nephew visiting from Jamaica. I got lost trying to find another Indian restaurant and decided to try this one anyway. The food was spicy and tasty, but old and cold. I stayed and ate because the time with my nephew was very brief and I did not want to take up the time complaining or leaving in the middle. I called to complain two days later. The owner was very apologetic and in an effort to retain me as a customer he offered to come back for a free buffet. I went back on the 26th with my son and the food was warm and freah and tasty. The naan bread was a winner both times!!!!!Service was excellent. I would definitely go back. I do agree the food is overpriced for a buffet. The first visit 2 buffet meals a mango lassi and one lemonade took us to $38 before tip!!!

We had a wonderful experience at Taj Punjabi. we visited about 10pm on a Sunday night. It was a short 2 block walk from our resort. Our was server was a delightful, warm, and friendly woman who is studying for as Master of Science in IT. The food was hot when it arrived and everything tasted as it should. The food was fresh, deeply flavorful, and filling. The serving portion was just the right amount. I found the prices to be average or slightly higher than what Ive seen in similar establishments. The quality of the food is much better than anything we have been able to find at home in Pittsburgh. The only negatives are that we didnt realize an extra plate of rice would be $8.99! (We figured it would be $3-4.) ALSO, they were out of change in their cash drawer, which meant we had to pay with our card rather than cash.

Worst food ever!!!! Being Indian, I know that I have tasted better food. First of all, the food was so expensive. Who the heck wants to pay $38 for just two chicken biryani that tastes like musty and cheap rice? If I wanted that I could have gone to Walmart myself and made me some cheap biryani. Second the chicken tika had no taste, and it felt like I was eating out-of-date watery and recycled chicken. Last but not least, just because someone has a coupon dont try to rip us off and charge us extra: especially for the most disgusting food I have ever tasted!! Waste of time, money, drive!!!! Never coming back or telling my friends to eat at Taj Punjabi restaurant again.

Small family owned business. Comfortable, clean and safe environment. Outstanding customer service. Delicious fresh food. i travel from Jacksonville to Tampa and Jacksonville to Miami 5-6 times a month and I frequently eat there. Ive seen them, their food and service during lunch and dinner hours. I never once had an unpleasant experience. Unfortunately I have seen customers not tip, talk down and/or throw tantrum just to pget few bucks off their tab. If you cant afford to eat out and tip well please stay home and make some ramen noodle. Dont try to screw over hard working people. Specially after you chuck form half the buffet. Karma will catch up.

The worst food one could ever have the dinner buffet was very expensive and we made the terrible mistake of choosing to eat the buffet and the food was old and no taste at all. All items were as tasteless as mud. Not a great atmosphere. I think they serve the remnants of the mid-day buffet as dinner buffet. Desserts were mediocre and not well coked at all. This restaurant should earn minus 5 stars, unfortunately, we could not goive lower than 1. If possible, I would have whole-heartedly given MINUS 100 STARS WORST EXPERIENCE WE EVER HAD IN OUR LIFE. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

For the price, i would never ever recommend it. At $16.99 for dinner buffet, its outrageous. The service was good and prompt but in the end its about food. They had two meat varieties and four vegetarian curries and one desert. For this price at least you expect something more. The curries especially paneer tasted old. Salad bar had only cucumber and it looked cut in the morning. Nothing tasted or looked fresh. The desert was not done properly and was dry. Naan was the saving grace of the fiasco and i would recommend not to try buffet here. :(

I have owned restaurants, was president of a fast food chain and eat out often all over the US and the world. Maybe the food at Taj Punjabi has improved since some of these reviews because I was very pleased with my recent experience there. I went with a person who loves Indian food and we both felt the flavorings were perfect. I plan to return and will recommend it to others. There are many Indian restaurants in the area so be sure that you go to the one on a side street off International drive, across from Fridays and next to the Asian Buffet.

This is not a good place , if you are hungry there plenty of options in this place . But please do not go to this place. We were hungry and order the following mattar planner - paneer was rubber Chicken do piazza - a very bad chicken curry with a layer of oil. Garlic naan - was all yellow Veg biryani - mashallah , absolutely horrible She charged us 70$ , we found a deal online with 12 bucks off but this was super expensive, horrible taste , bad quality, bad quantity. I will never go to this place.

Dont know how this place stays in business. The food here is horrible, I swear they served us leftovers from the lunch buffet. Any review here claiming the food is good was placed by the owner. He told me himself he does so when I told him I was going to post an unfavorable review due to his piss poor attitude and inedible food. As for atmosphere, if you are into pissy little Indian guys screaming at their wives, this place is for you.

Service was good, received our drinks promptly. Out of us 5 that went, 4 of us were having Indian food for the first time. Food was overall very delicious, however pricing is expensive.. a little bowl of meat and curry the size of your palm is about $20. Went on a Friday night and there were 2 other parties there as well, so service got a little slow since it was only 1 woman taking orders, serving, and taking care of the register.
