OUTSTANDING! Cant wait to go back! Weve been wanting to try this place since moving to NSB! So many great places to try we finally made a point to come with friends for dinner. Honestly we thought it was a hot dog place and our neighbors thought it was a pet store LOL I caught a video on Facebook where the owner and cook were talking about what its all about. They had me at We smoke our own pork every night!!!! The inside is a little small and there is not a lot of table seating but there is a bar to sit at so it works. The have a great out door patio out back with tables and a small bar and music I believe around 6pm every night. We chose to sit outside so we could listen to the music of Mary Cuchetti on her keyboard. Service was great, our food came pretty fast and the atmosphere was nice. Our meals were sooooo good! We all cleared our plates! I had the Lemon Shandy on tap, ohhhh soooo refreshing and goood! I will have to work my way through this menu and tap beers! We will certainly be back again! I cant believe we have missed out on this little place for so long! So check out their music lineup if you going. Im reading complaints about the rock music was too loud?! Really?! Well not all music is everyones thing so maybe check the schedule or plan your visit before the music starts. As far as the younger crowd complaints? Again, REALLY?! The place was packed by the time we left and there were all ages sitting at the bar, the inside tables and the back patio. As most New Smyrna Beach restaurants with outside seating the are dog friendly! There are water bowls out on the back patio that welcomes them! I for one love that the welcome dogs! We dont always take our Tucker with us but its a nice option if we have him with us for a beautiful day of walking canal street for some quality outdoor time for him and us. If your not a fan of dogs in restaurants, well dont sit out on the patio or chose a place that isnt pet friendly. You wont find many places to eat in NSB or beachside that arent pet friendly. If I had one complaint it would be the young man who kept coming out to the back of the patio and going into the storage closet? The back of his pants were torn out in places revealing his underwear, kinda gross and very unprofessional attire for a restaurant. Your patrons dont want to see that.

Have been to the original location in Gotha a number of times, but this was our first time at the one in New Smyrna. Same EXCELLENT food, but have to admit that I preferred the experience of being waited on here instead of standing in line to order & waiting for my name to be called in Gotha. Considering that this location is in the middle of quaint downtown NSB versus the more isolated Gotha, both places have the same vibe. So kudos to Fish (the owner) for bottling lightning at a second location! Lets talk about the food though... Im definitely partial to the pulled pork nachos because holy crap! They are AMAZING. And speaking of "Holy Crap", you cannot go wrong with the the sandwich that bears that name...because thats what youre going to say every time you take a bite of it.

Yellow dog features interesting combinations of high quality ingredients on their menu and backs it up with a great beer selection. Many choices for local Florida beers. I had the Rufus sandwich, frisky style which was an excellent combination of brie, raspberry, bbq sauce, pulled pork, cherry peppers, and spicy pickles. You wouldnt expect that combination to work but it really, really does. The rest of their menu was similar in creativity and quality so I will definitely be trying everything. We finished the meal off with a key lime mason jar, which is like a key lime pie in a jar. We definitely made the right choice with that.

This native New Yorker is duly impressed! I have never experienced a soft opening that has been such a pleasure. From the transformation of the property to the most hospitable and solicitous staff to the wonderful food we were made to feel like old friends! And the best part of it was that our second visit within days was even better than the first! Cant believe that we found a new favorite hang out. It is certainly worth the drive from Ponce Inlet. If you think that I am being too effusive just try it for yourself! (On second thought, perhaps we need to keep this as our little secret so that we will always have a table!)

Possibly THE best BBQ Ive ever eaten! So good I hesitate to call it BBQ. They really do a great job tweaking complimentary flavors. Id almost call it California style BBQ, but I dont want to insult their BBQ! Great selection of craft beers and decent wine choices. Desert is their weakness [thank goodness... I was already stuffed!]. Waiter was happy to be alive and seemed to really be into working there. They have live music in the small rear courtyard several nights a week. Small place with big time cool vibe. Wish I owned it... I could hang out there all the time.

Twice, we ordered out for pick-up and about 6 weeks apart! Maybe is was bad luck but both times the food we ordered out - the BLT sandwiches were really marginally put together and super skimpy for the price they charged around 9 bucks. The other sandwich items we ordered out - 6 weeks prior to that were just skimpy as well, and we remembered experiencing the same thing.... "Hey, for the price of these sandwiches...it is "all but bread" basically." Hope you experience better - on your takeout!!

Thank you Yellow Dog for the wonderful, amazing service. Its hard to find an amazing, wonderful staff, but you did & its definitely one of the reasons I come back. Then.... theres the food, Its great and I think that its so amazing!! And... Its very easy to find something on the menu for everyone, not to mention, there definitely is healthy choices. Friendly staff, cold beer, and great barbecue. We sat out back, it was shady and clean. We had the original with fried onions and the Florida cracker barbecue sandwich. They were both great sandwiches. The only down fall was the sliced bread on one sandwich fell apart after one bite. I would recommend getting the original bun instead. All together it was a great place to stop in for a cold beer and good food. Dog friendly as well.

I never get what I order. Be sure to know what your meal includes and check it before leaving. I wont be back because I refuse to pay for what I order and then receive a cheaper order with no assistance from the staff. Thanks Yellow Dog Eats I was one who told all how great it was (in the beginning) but now things have gone down hill and I will not give anymore recommendations.

This is a fun place with a happy atmosphere, good service and GREAT food. I highly recommend the "What the fig " salad - their jalapeño - fig dressing is delicious and dangerously addictive! Also a favorite of mine is the Holy Crap sandwich, and the house made pulled pork is consistently delicious. This restaurant is my favorite in New Smyrna Beach!
