Nearly 15 years ago I began eating at a little place called Café Tokyo. It was the first sushi Id ever ENJOYED eating. I began eating there up to 5 days a week (sometimes for lunch AND dinner). Id meet friends there, frequently bringing a large crowd. It became a tradition and beloved place for us. My husband and I had our first date there. My son had his first solid food there (tofu from the miso soup). When we moved away for 8 years, every visit back to Miami began and ended with a visit to our favorite little sushi place. A few years ago, the name and location changed, but its still the same place I fell in love with. Now that weve moved back, Ive begun working there. Though they told me Id get tired of it now that I work there, I still cant help getting hungry over every dish that goes out, and it pains me when customers dont finish their meals and I have to throw the leftovers in the trash.

Best Sushi in Kendall, if not all of Miami! Walter and Yoko, the owners are nothing but friendly, out going and always provide the freshest, highest quality sushi! I have been on a no carb diet for over a year and sushi would be the last place you would think to go for a meal for my diet, yet 4 days a week most weeks, I am there and both of them create a different riceless roll for me every time. Staff is friendly and attentive and prices as well as quantity of food are perfect! Do not miss out, you will never go back to your other sushi restaurant once you experience your first meal there! We have been long time customers for the past 10 years. They used to be at Town & Country way before it became The Palms under the name Cafe Tokyo. They make the best sushi in town, we like the quality of the seaweed they use for the rolls. We always enjoy their fruit salad and sushi varieties. Recently heard they were doing some upgrades to the restaurant :) We are very happy with the quality of the fish, taste and presentation. Owner is very friendly and makes you feel at home.

The food is fantastic but the wait was abysmal. I wanted to take another star off for a 45 minute wait, especially considering that the restaurant was practically empty. I cant even imagine what it would be like busy. Still, Ill give them the benefit of the doubt, all of the food was delicious and I would go here again.

Stopped at this restaurant on a whim, and was pleasantly surprised! Really good portions, excellent food, and very reasonable prices. Had some rolls: fish was fresh, the rolls were huge, and the rice was perfect. A hidden gem; if youre in the area I recommend it.

Best salmon ever! Really good service but the salmon is beyond here, really fresh, amazing flavor. Love the fact that is small and they make you feel so welcoming. If you are local you have to hit this sushi place best in kendall area.
