At first I drove up on a whim. I looked up the reviews in the car prior to entering. I would have driven off had my kids not said lets give it a try and I want pizza! At first the place was empty, we got a non-enthusiastic greeting but it was a decent hello is this dining in or out? We were instructed to sit when I said dining in. Keep in mind my expectations after reading the last 3 months reviews had me on high alert and negative mode. There was a fly but the server took care of it out of sight (not what I would have done as a server and she kept cleaning never sitting doing nothing a quality as an ex-restaurant manager admires ). The pizza took a bit longer but was the quality of the crust was well worth the wait. Since we added the extra cheese it was gooey at first and tasted really great but not the blend I grew up with in NY. But my kids loved it. The crust was fluffy yet toasted from crust to centet. The wait was now obviosly because it was made to order not sitting waiting on flies like some NY pizzerias in NY. We got med pie, dessert and sodas at 10 per person with aa higher than 20% tip. The lava cake was not the best but still tasty. While in here 5 families ordered lots of food to go. Our server was efficient and kept up with our needs. I wondered why the heck people had such bad reviews because it was not from the server nor the staff in the kitchen on our visit. I highly suggest the owners give the staff a better environment with a bug light found in most restaurants because its very dated preventing any experienced server from feeling enthusiastic. Maybe the staff will be more energetic when they can have a bit more pride because people would sit and not take out instead. Over all the pizza is great the location needs work. The staff is doing the best they can at server pay scale with only one table with an uninviting location. Again the pizza crust was the best I have had in a long time owner is losing potential revenue with such a good pizza.

Just got home from eating there (9/7/2015). We are locals and decided to try this place on a whim. To be honest, Ive driven by this place daily for over two years and never noticed it - my GF had noticed it and suggested trying it. We dined-in and the atmosphere was nice - nothing fancy. The owner was working the tables for the dine-in this slow holiday night. The menu is not huge, but is fully featured for pizza and similar items. Its a bit expensive, but no more so than youd expect in a tourism-focused area of town like this -- the important thing is that its worth it - read on... Lets cut to the chase - is it good? Yes, its good! Better than Flippers in my opinion. The crust is thin, chewy, and a great vehicle to get the good stuff into my pie-hole as crust should be. The ingredients were measured-out very well - plenty of black olives, the right amount of Italian sausage, etc. We got the extra-large and easily took half home between the two of us. Im looking forward to eating the rest over the next couple of days as my work lunches. Will we return or order to-go from Gills? Absolutely! Flippers is also great pizza -- however, if youre in the area or wanting to try something different and possibly even better, give Gills a try. This will become our go-to pizza supplier after tonight!

I only gave one star because of the great food. In a nutshell, the food was fantastic but the waiter we specifically had, was beyond immeasurably terrible. Not only did he ignore my table when we asked for more drinks, he was aloof and was completely negative toward us AND other customers he was serving (another family tried calling and waiving him down as he passed and he blatantly pretended he did not hear or see them). When the bill came, he INSISTED that I got the total incorrect because I only left him (out of kindness) 15% tip. He actually stood over me, pressuring me to give him the tip that HE wrote in--18%, saying my total was "wrong. This is the total," pointing at his handwriting. Having lived in Queens, NY, I have never experienced such terrible service. However, I believe it was that one specific waiter (tall, husky build, bald-headed, African-American young man) who ruined our experience. It appeared from afar that the other staff was quite friendly and helpful. I just hope no one else gets this waiter, because the food is wonderful and reminiscint of NYC.

We were looking for a pizza restaurant during our Orlando hols in Jan 2009 and came across this place near our timeshare. On entering we were a bit dubious as it did not have the decor and standards of Chain restaurants. However we were greeted in the way we were used to in the USA by a very friendly lady and shown to a clean table. We ordered pizza and a new experience of Stromboli. The drinks came thick and fast! The service was quick and the food piping hot, delicious and very filling we needed a box for the remainder which they were happy to oblige. It was very reasonably priced and we were given a 10% off voucher for our next visit, so returned 2 days later and had the same excellent experience. Highly recommended.

Terrible! This is just another pizza store with poor quality pizza, it might look like NYC pizza BUT it does not taste like it and here is why, NYC pizza crust needs to be cooked well, ours was very under cooked, they need to send the pizza through twice at the very least, that would have made it better, I had one slice and threw the rest away. Now on to the place it self, we sat there for 30 minutes watching the horror show of how this place was run, it was a pathetic show of disorganization and dismay. I assume the person we saw at the counter was the owner and he seemed disconnected from the operation and would not help his struggling staff one bit. AVOID THIS PLACE.

Just ate the pizza and its nothing like New York pizza im a true New Yorker trust me avoid this dirty dump. FYI if the bathrooms arent clean that should always give you a hint.

The pizza doesnt taste nowhere near NY Pizza and no one in there is Italian but yet it claims to be. They didnt want to give me a to go cup for a fountain drink that my child didnt fully drink and then tried to tell us that we would be charged an extra $0.50 if we wanted the cup.. all because they give free refills....***like are you kidding me?? Its a fountain drink and theyre already charging $2.00 and we cant take the rest home?!?!!!?! You can get a 48oz fountain drink from the gas station for $0.79!!!!
