Abbreviated review: Good Indian restaurant that may or may not be worth your money, depending on how much you like Indian food. Grade: B India house is a decent enough place to grab Indian food in Jacksonville. I ordered the vegetable samosa, vegetable dal soup, and the classic chicken tikka. The menu is huge. Insanely huge. Too huge, even. Dont be intimidated, however, as its mostly redundant. I counted chicken tikka at least three times, all the same dish, all the same price. Why? I dont know. The decor is okay, but well kept, with good, dim lighting. It doesnt feel very Indian, or very generic restaurant-like. It feels like an Italian restaurant, which is a bit off-putting. The service is mostly fast and attentive, if perhaps too much. Theres a feeling of forced formality that makes the stage appear on edge, but you will get whatever it is youre asking for, admirably. It would benefit from having a bar, or a larger selection of Indian beers. The one I tried, Taj Mahal, was an interesting experience, but I would have preferred more variety. The soup was a resoundingly okay, but not great. I would have preferred some spice, and a stronger vegetable flavor, with slightly less emphasis on the dal. The samosa is where the party really starts. This stuff is great! Fried perfectly, with great texture and flavor, and a nice kick on the end. It tasted more fresh than frozen, but if it is frozen, I want to know who sells it. The chicken was a let down. While the sauce wasnt bad, the chicken itself left much to be desired. It was somewhat dry, chewy, and tough. I was also disappointed to find that it wasnt spicy, despite asking for a "medium". You may need to clarify your level of burn when you go in. I didnt ask for a re-fire, however, pickier eaters than myself may. It comes in a fully metal bowl, with no handle grips, causing the whole dish to become incredibly hot, and difficult to handle, so buyer beware. The prices are where Im confused. The appetizers put me in about $3 a piece, which is great for what youre getting, however, the main course came in at $14, which is higher than I would expect, or typically want to pay for a singular item. In total, the food and beers put me down about $30 before tip, so the extent to which you enjoy pretty decent Indian food will determine if this place is good for you.

Amazing Food, Amazing hospitality, Amazing Service. Everything about this place is simply amazing. I love Indian food and I have been a very regular customer at another Indian Restaurant in Jacksonville for quite a long time. One of my colleagues recommenced this place to me and I went there to give it a try. Trust me, they are the best (and I seriously mean it) Indian Restaurant in Jacksonville. Now I am a regular customer at this place. Talking about the food, Maharaja Non-vegetarian Thali (a must try) is my personal favorite. My wife who is a vegetarian loves their Maharani vegetarian Thali. 10 out of 10 to this restaurant.

Food was awesome, no complaints in that department. Never asked us what we wanted to drink. Had 5 waiters who couldnt coordinate between each other. Served our food, left for a few minutes and then came back with plates for us to eat on. More things went on to make things uncomfortable, im not going to bore anyone with a laundry list, those are just the top 3. Wouldnt have really bothered me AT ALL if wasnt $75 for 2 waters, 2 dinners, 2 appatizers, bread and a tip. With that kind of money, you expect a reasonably positive experience, especially when its not busy. 2 stars just for the food, chefs are incredible.

My husband and I were on a road trip from Pennsylvania to key west and back , and we have lived in New York and New Jersey , of all the Indian places that we have tried this had the best food , the lamb biryani was mouthwatering , not too spicy just the right combination of all the spices (authentic taste ) , the mango lassi was to die for , and they were really kind enough to give us some complimentary gulab jamun ( Indian dessert ) . The portions were just right for two people . I would definitely try their food again and recommend it to everyone who is looking for authentic Indian food with great hospitality !

The best Indian buffet restaurant in Jacksonville, Florida, and weve been to all of them! If you like to eat freshly made, nutritious, and tastefully seasoned food, you will find it here! My husband and I particularly enjoy their vegetable dishes (cooked al dente). If you like to eat healthy, youll love their broccoli in a mild and delicious light sauce, and their cauliflower, and string beans! Also, their potatoes, eggplant, okra, etc.! The price of their buffet is reasonable and their staff is respectful, friendly, and attentive! We definitely recommend India House to everyone!

Some of the best Indian food i have tasted so far! Their buffet is very reasonable for 10 bucks and unlimited refills on water. If you order sprite or a beverage that does cost extra, but if you are eating buffet style, you should be drinking water anyway since soda might fill you up quicker. They bring out the nan bread which is free for the first basket. Iam not sure if the subsequent refills on bread are free though. All in all, you cant beat their selection on Indian food and desserts. Very well priced for a all you can eat buffet and good tasting food.

AMAZING! I love Indian, but I dont often get to eat it as I live at the beach and there arent any there (yet) I got the sampler option for non-vegetarians and it was AMAZING. Every single thing was delicious, even the little dessert included (doughy sweetness in sugar type syrup) The soup was a great starter, delicious and the perfect amount of spice. I was the only person in the entire restaurant and I had amazing service from many nice employees. They were phenomenal. I will most definitely make the trip back here from the beach.

I read all the reviews and chose to drive forty minutes one way to eat here... I was not empressed by the service. ordered appitzer and they forgot. Finally came after we finished eating our meal. ordered a beer when it was gone no one came around to ask me if I wanted another. Seemed like a place where you had to be indian, and in the family to get good service (I know how that sounds...but true). Then waited about ten minutes with our table cleared to get the check.... Overall I REALLY didnt think it was deserving of 5 stars.

Weve never had a bad meal here- and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Completely outside the normal parameters of a review (and this earns 5 stars as a restaurant, not for what Im about to say, but), the hostesss ability to soothe babies may be the most incredible dinner entertainment Ive ever had. That will sound insane until you see it for yourself. Bring a baby, watch it have the most transfixing experience of its baby life. Were really grateful to have a great Indian restaurant we can always count on.

Ive tried, 5th Element, India Restaurant, Apna, and another restaurant which name escapes my memory right now and none of them stand up to the flavor, quality, and hospitality of India House. Every time I go I enjoy my visit. We trained some Indians who flew in from India at my company (outsourcing alert) and even they said this was as close to authentic Indian cuisine as it gets. My absolute favorite is the Chicken Mahkani and as another reviewer wrote, the Garlic Naan is truly spectacular. Highly recommend!!!
