We visited this restaurant a few days ago in the early evening wanting to beat the dinner rush. The group consisted of 3 adults,1 young adult & 3 children. Our waitress Guadalupe sat us down with a bit of an attitude for starters, mind you my husband & I are always very polite & tend to try to engage our servers due to both of us spending years in the hospitality/training industry. My husband is currently a Sales Director for one of the largest Orlando Resorts,as well as Mexican so service & attitude is not lost on him.Our efforts did not seem to work, we figured she was just having a bad day..oh well. When our drinks were brought out our server mistakenly brought out an additional coke, but forgot to get a straw for a kiddie cup. We (politely) asked her for one,and she just pulled the one out of the xtra coke & stuck it in the kiddie juice cup! Strike 1. We ordered a queso fundido w/chorizo upon the first bite my husband had to spit it out discretely in his napkin. The cheese was horrendous & the chorizo was not edible.....we called our server since she seemed to disappear after the orders were placed. She returned with my daughters nachos w/cheese & got upset when we told her about the queso fundido, while shes fuming about that we looked at the nachos & it was disgusting!! It was a milky white liquid that had been poured over their table nachos & heated up,it had the look of something left in the microwave too long. If you lifted the nachos on top the bottom appeared to be soup, the cheese was liquid & pooled on the bottom. Far from any nachos & cheese WE have ever ordered At this point my husband got up to find the manager since we were seriously worried about what our food would look like.Apparently Guadalupe was giving him a heads up since he charged our table with his arms raised telling us that if we didnt want to pay we could just leave! When I tried to show him our nachos & explain...his response was"weve been here 40yrs and nobody complains, if you dont like it you can leave". Our food was being delivered at that precise moment & "Lupe" chimed in...."look, all this wasted!". I could see my husband getting upset by the minute & I ushered our party out. As we left we placed $20 on the table to cover the 2 margaritas (we never did drink the 2nd one on their 2 @1 offer since we left) & 3 juices that we had ordered. Apparently this wasnt enough since Guadalupe caught us as we were walking out to charge us for $4 for the basket of nachos & salsa you get upon being seated. This was by far the most horrendous experience we have ever had in a restaurant. The manager was offensive, rude & vulgar. The service was a disaster & the food inedible. The only thing that was okay was the margarita & you need a few of those to even consider tackling the rest this so called Mexican restaurant has to offer. 2 Thumbs WAY down.

First off, I pride myself in being honest with my reviews and being fair by taking into consideration how busy a restaurant is and other factors... but this is the first time in my life Ive had absolutely terrible service AND terrible food. My group of six had sweet tea and Coca-Cola... and the coke was beyond flat and the tea tasted old or sour. My grilled chicken breast was cold despite the waitress saying the plate was hot and that I should be careful not to touch it. One of my party ordered grilled tilapia and it was cold throughout, as if it were heated up from frozen in a microwave and then thrown on the grill for good measure. My wife, who for context of this review is Mexican and has worked in restaurants since moving to this country 16 years ago and makes homemade mole, ordered Mole Poblano; it was a gigantic portion of lukewarm chicken covered in an attempt at an authentic Mexican condiment called mole. Everything we ate was just a disappointment. Only one of the six of us finished their meal and the rest of us ate a few bites for good measure, but couldnt force ourselves to eat our meals. I left after paying for a meal that was inedible and went to my go-to favorite pizza place in Clearwater/Tampa (read my other reviews) to make up for the unfortunate choice in dining that I made. Its a shame that the service was bad and the food was unacceptable, but its more a shame that the owners havent remodeled or reconditioned the outdated and falling ceiling tiles or cleaned the dusty wall decorations. Their location is prime real estate and the exterior has a welcoming look. If youre an angel investor, this place has a lot of opportunity... If youre a potential customer, just keep diving for now until the angel investor turns things around.

It maybe that it is not fair that I review East Coast Mexican food because I have been so spoiled living on the West Coast for so long. I had the shredded beef burrito and it wasnt horrible but it wasnt great. It wasnt what shredded beef should be. It was very salty. Shredded beef is usually more on the dry side but this was in liquidish grease. I have heard that people on the East Coast dont like real Mexican food so they kind of Americanize it here! I believe it with the bed of lettuce, sour cream and whatever else was on that plate. Where is the Guacamole? Well I ordered a side of it because it didnt come with it! It was like Guac soup! Me No Likie! That is not Guacamole! I had some Dos XXs and that was fine. Beer price was fine! Food was overpriced for what I had and maybe that is just because I didnt like it. Chips and Salsa...lets talk! Salsa was not that! Salsa should be able to be poured out. It was more like hot sauce! Me No Likie! Like I said from the beginning, it is probably not fair for me to review East Coast Florexican! Service was very good and friendly. Very attentive and nice! I would go back for sure for some cheap cold beer on a hot day. I am just wondering what I would have with my chips since I dont like the salsa or the guac!

Went there with a group from work.. air conditioning was not working: We asked the manager if he could get our waiter so we could place our order; he smiled and said "no" then walked away.. Too funny!!! I had the supreme burrito asked for chicken, I received beef... burrito was buried under half a head of shredded "warm" lettuce and a slice of tomato... there was a little bit of watery queso with it.. Burrito was burned and there was a lot of water on my plate (probably from the wilting lettuce.) Others in the party seemed to enjoy their meal, but I dont think any of us cleaned our plate... A scene was caused a table behind us, a female diner said that her chicken was raw.. There was a little bit of screaming match and the customers stormed out.. Not that unusual I guess.. But then the waitress, manager and someone else (dishwasher maybe?) all took turns passing this womans half eaten food around the restaurant saying "look, its alright, she was just stupid" It was definitely an experience, but not sure I will ever be going back...
