I would give Mission BBQ a 5 if I had not driven thru the state of Texas - where BBQ is on a completely different level. I would go back to Texas just to eat the BBQ - BTW......... After reading the reviews posted here I have to say I agree and disagree, here is why: I love brisket - been to Mission about 10x. Eight of the ten, brisket was delicious, and way better than any BBQ joint in SWFL. Moist, not to fatty or greasy, just enough bark, not to salty, nice cross grain cuts. The other 2 times brisket was just about the opposite of above. As we all know - consistency in the restaurant business is KEY. Mission is fairly consistent, enough to keep me coming back. But like most people here - they are human, we all have a bad day! So the attention of the staff responding to client complaints moves on center when an issue arises. The staff at Mission will ALWAYS go above and beyond to correct and assist in making you happy. They will offer tastes of any meat to find one you will be very happy with, and here is why. The food there is fresh, and good quality - so today if the brisket is not up to par, understand It happens from time to time. I understand that. Sure I was looking forward to brisket that night - but the salmon or sausage or chicken or ribs or pork will be so good - the sting of not having my brisket quickly faded to sublime. Mac n cheese thru the roof! WOW. Fries too as well as the slaw! BBQ sauces all very good, iced tea delicious. You can taste any meat or side before ordering, the staff is cheerful and glad to give sample(s) to you. All in all Mission BBQ is your best choice for good BBQ. Dont be afraid to switch out of your BBQ meat if it isnt up to par on a given day - they will be happy to have you taste until your happy..... And I guarantee you will leave happy!!!

This was our first visit and we will most certainly be back. First the food....it was awesome. The mac and cheese was so good I wanted seconds. We had beef brisket. They gave us so much we couldnt eat it all. It was so tender I had trouble picking it up with a fork. Nice smoky flavor too. My husband had banana pudding for dessert. I though he was going to lick the dish. Now., the staff.... wow, those are some friendly people. Very nice and outgoing. Shook our hand and thanked us for our service when they found out we were both former military. So overall? Great food, friendly staff, pro military and public safety. Whats not to like? If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would.

I wouldve not known about this place if it wasnt for a free sandwich coupon included in the goody bag for the American Lung Associations Fight for Air Climb event I participated in this morning. Everything about this restaurant was excellent! There were three of us, two including me had the BBQ Pulled Chicken sandwich and the other had the turkey sandwich, with baked beans and potato salad as our sides. Both the chicken and turkey were good, very tender and tasty and the buns tasted fresh and were soft. The decor plays homage to US Military and first responders. All of the employees I interacted with were friendly and looked like they enjoyed working there. Ill definitely be back!

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! This was my first time eating at a Missions BBQ and I cant wait to come back. EXTREMELY friendly staff. Even more amazing food! Love the concept. They support veterans, first responders, police and more. They even offer first responders, etc the chance to get free food and other perks for signing up online. Definitely recommend. So glad I stopped in! Take my word and try this place! You will thank me later! By the way... I was writing this review as I was finishing my food and one of the staff (Griselle) brought over free samples of a brisket that they have and thank god she did because now I ended up loving it and now I will order it when I come back!

This restaurant should be closed. We stopped there for dinner last night and the food was terrible. My wife had the brisket sandwich and fries. The meat was dry and salty and the fries were cold. I had the Chicken that was recommended by the order taker. Wow was that bad. Is was some sort of baked chicken with some sort of crumbs on it. The chicken was tough and virtually had no flavor I ended up throwing 1/2 of the meal away. The best part of the meal was the beans, they were very good. I should have known this was not a good place to eat judging by the parking lot on a Friday night, just a few cars. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. STAY AWAY

This place is decent. Its supposed to be great according to reviews and awards but I wasnt blown away. The sweet tea tasted like sugar water, there was no tea flavor at all. The mac and cheese was AWFUL. Soupy, flavorless mush. No matter how much salt and pepper I put on it I couldnt eat it. It didnt even really taste that much like cheese. The best part was the BBQ and the coleslaw. It was pretty good and I might go back and just order different things. They were out of brisket and that seems to be the best thing they have so Ill give it another shot to find good brisket. The staff was super friendly and knowledgable.

They have the best brisket Ive ever eaten. I like mine lean and well caramelized on the outside (you can also get it less done and fattier if you like) and this was perfect! The beans are good and the fries amazing. They make their own sauces in-house with several excellent options. The staff is friendly and the service is fast. It was so good we went back three days later. Both times I ate past the point of being full, and both times the general manager came out and chatted with us. If you love good BBQ at very reasonable prices then dont miss this place!

I would have given another star except that the meats were only slightly above body temperature. Cheese in the jalapeño sausage hadnt even started to melt. The meats, pulled pork and sausage, were otherwise tasty. The fries were hot enough and good but I didnt see ketchup (I like it better than vinegar on fries) anywhere. The barbecue sauces were just OK but I expected much better. The corn bread was very good. The servers were very nice and friendly, great help. I would go again except that I like my cooked foods hot, at least 130 degrees or so.

Excellent smoked meat - the brisket and pulled pork are terrific. The dine-in experience leaves A LOT to be desired - the concept of dining in a mess hall is not exactly appealing to me. Thankfully, they offer take-out, so I can eat in a more relaxing venue, like my desk at work. Prices are more than fair and portions are, well gluttonously large, to be honest. Its a good thing the food is so good, because these guys support our troops so dang hard, I couldnt give them a bad review if I wanted to without being accused of being a terrorist.
