Before I go into my review I want to point out I am a chef myself and of Indian descent hence I believe I know what Im talking about. I got take out recently on one of those days I didnt want to cook. The food was ordered mild but everything was spicy and hot even for me who loves hot food. My husband could barely eat it. I ordered the samosas for $4.99 for 2pcs which were miniature two bite sized. The food was underseasoned and portions were poor. The naan, which is my favorite Indian bread, was not the fluffy soft bread I love. The "vegetables" are a mix of standard corn, green beans and peas like out of a bag of mixed veggies found at the grocery freezer aisle. The food did not taste fresh and I could get a refrigerator aftertaste from the sauces which were weak at best. The tamarind chutney tasted like ketchup had been stirred in. I am so disappointed by this place considering I paid $62 for 2 curries, 2 appetizers and 3 naan (I actually tipped for the take out!!). Unless they start taking their food seriously I would recommend not going here ever!

The service and food at The Saffron was below my expectation. My family and I waited approx 40 minutes for food to be ready and on arrival the nan was burnt and chicken tendori tasted very dry. I ordered the mango lassi and it tasted like a plain WARM sugar free yogurt out of a very small glass. We asked for the food to be packed up to take home , my hands were full with my children , I thought the server would put the food in the takeout box for me but instead he just gave me everything to do and as I stared at him for a minute ... he reluctantly said in a very frustrating way " I will help" , but he only helped with one box and walked away. Lastly, got my receipt and I notice I was over charged on my order. I do not recommend this restaurant at all. Food and service lacks . There are many other amazing delicious Indian cuisine locations with great service , this isnt one of them. Will not be back.

The food here is amazing. We are vegan and have never experienced a restaurant that goes above and beyond to make sure everything they serve us fits our diet restrictions. Our son loves the chili sauce, so the chef made him "the special sauce". This no name sauce was created on the spot just to accommodate my 8 year olds love of everything spicy. The owner and servers are very attentive and made feel welcome and like we were at home eating with friends. The food is very flavorful and freshly made. We love eating foods from different cultures and Saffron is by far our favorite place. Cant ever go wrong with great food and great company.

We just had 3 items to take out, lamb tikka masala, chicken Korma, and garlic naan. The Korma was delicious, among the best 5 Ive ever had, and the naan was very good. The one thing that was slightly disappointing was the lamb tikka masala. It was slightly less thick than what I like, and the flavor was good, but did not impress me nearly as much as the Korma. The gentleman behind the register was helpful, and went back to the kitchen to check to see if my order was ready after processing my payment. I will be going back again for the Korma, and Ill try the tikka masala again sometime in the future to see if it matches the Korma.

Staff is pleasent and very attentive to your needs. I enjoyed an afternoon lunch buffet. Their food is authentic and very tasty. The curry was just right and I couldnt have made it better myself at home. If you love heat (hot) food, then this a perfect balance! The heat is a slow burn of perfection on some of the dishes. Regular salad is offered as well and a yummy fritter served with syrup that was sweet. Best part was the hot and fresh Naan bread! The buffet was 12.99, however I can tell you alot of time and love goes into making good curry. This was completely worth it and Im happily stuffed.

I havent had the buffet only dinner on two occasions. However, this is the only Indian restaurant that my wife has ever liked whatsoever. It is perhaps the only place that Ive ever been and asked for food "extra spicy" and actually received something that I felt sufficiently upheld the request. This is a place to slow down, savor and feel like you are eating with family. There is family, love, soul and spirit infused within this establishment and I for one greatly appreciate their efforts.

This palce is amazing. Extremely clean, and very nice on the inside. The waitors were on their toes, never missing a moment of when we needed something. The best part was the food. The food was superior, delicious, and definitely worth trying. I cant begin to tell you how good it was. Ive been to 4 other indian restaurants in the area, and this ranks number one for my girlfriend and I. Not to mention they have a lunch buffet! This place is rarely busy, which makes me sad! THIS IS A MUST TRY!

Went here during lunch, service was slow but the food was delicious and the selection was decent. Would have been better if more selection was offered and service not so slow. Walked in and no one waited to greet you, stood awkwardly waiting at the host desk for a few minutes. Our waiter sat on his phone in the corner which was weird, everytime we needed something we had to get his attention and he didnt seem all that happy about it. Place has potential but needs to recognize its customers.

Talk about authentic cuisine. I absolutely loved my food. Chai Tea, Garlic Nann Bread which by the way the sweet curry dip that comes with is to die for! to a delicious Chicken Tikka Masala. My only wish for the ambience to be a little more cozy, a little too bright to my liking in some sections but they just got there so Im sure they are still prepping. Good luck! And I will definitely be back for seconds!

Not sure what that 1 star person is talking about, theyre clearly picky eaters and super biased being an indian cook themselves.. if they know better then why dont they open their own restaurant.. We NEED MORE IN THIS TOWN :).... To the average person this place is phenomenal, Ive tried several different curries and Im impressed every time.... Its getting pretty pricey going every week but its SO GOOD!!

Yes all the other 5 star reviews are true. We read the reviews and ended up here to write our own. The server was knowledgeable and held a decent conversation. The food is rich and authentic in flavors and aromas. Great ambiance. Excellent venue to hold informal corporate events even. Try the lamb shanks for appetizers and tangrai kabab (drumsticks kabab), they were awesome.

Went here during lunch time. Restaurant said OPEN on the door, no one was there and there was no note. And this is during their business hours. Another time I went there and finally got to experience the food...terrible customer service, overprice on your receipt, food isnt even that great in comparison to other Indian Restaurants... not worth going.

Worst lunch buffet I have ever had in US. Usually I am the person who rarely rate or review any restaurants, but this one I am really disappointed with the previous reviews and what I have experienced in person. very pricey for very little buffet. No taste. Dont waste your hard earned money.
