My wife and I went here a few years back and we were not impressed. We said we would never go back. I couldnt tell you why as I dont remember the reasons. I went back yesterday and said what the heck. I now remember the reasons we said "never again". I ordered a simple garlic chicken off the lunch menu for 5.25. I got my order within five minutes as there was noone ahead me as a matter fact the place was empty. The dish had a slightly whitish, yellow sauce. It tasted like nothing but sugar and corn starch with a few garlic minced. It had probably 5 slivers of chicken and loads of bamboo shoot, water chestnut and 2 or 3 pieces of old broccoli. The broccoli was wilted and yellowing. The dish had a slight scent of dirty kitchen. I had three bites and thru the rest away. I made a sandwich to ease my hunger. I gave an additional star because the white rice was not over cooked. Which seems like a problem with most Chinese take out restaurants.

Can i just say YUCK!!! This place is a complete chaos. food quality was bad, poor and terrible. our shrimp fried rice was hard and the shrimp was still translucent and it still had some poop at the tail of it. our large order of beef broccoli was stale, we order $2.00 extra of the beef and did not get it. At the time of putting in our order the female owner verbally chewed her husband out in a complete out rage. and they refused to give us a receipt for our order. I thought my first experience with this place was the worst but this second one tops the cake. the least that this place can do is go out of business. We will have this bad service forever engraved in our brains.

I use to go here on occasion. I now go to China Star. The last time I went in 1 hour before they were closing to order some food. They told me "not enough time" to make food. They closed in an hour and would not prepare me anything. I said okay and left. Shang Hai has awful service, and apparently lazy. Never have I ever walked into a place to eat and been told theres not enough time to prepare your food. I will never go back.

went in with questions, BTW, online menu is a joke, everythings is like 3 or 4.00 more, and they will tell you it was a prank... but when u order, the lady talks you out of whatever u want to order and then the man cooking tells you, "Chinese isnt for you!" excuse me... first time here, just want to know what vegetables the item comes with.

The Food is always Great. My favorite is the Orange Chicken which can be specified spicy OR not spicy as all food is fresh cooked to order with Large Portions. (Eat some, save some to be reheated later.) Great value. Never had headaches or food allergy problems. Family owned, operated and friendly!! (Closed, usually... only on Mondays)

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Dunedin. They have a drive-thru, and even though you may wait a few extra minutes, it is worth the wait. The food is always delicious and fresh. I always recommend Shanghai Express whenever anyone asked me about Chinese food

Disgusting, unclean and rude service! Will never go there again! The man and woman who "run it" are both equally rude and obnoxious....They dont know how to properly serve customers! The food was bland and the silverware was unclean! GROSS!!!

This place is horrible they are barely ever open and they skimp on the meat. Not a lot of flavor. either under cooked or over cooked. Would not recommend. I am forced to eat here a few times a month because it is right next to where I work.

I used to love the food here, but will never return cause the wife is so rude and has no customer service! The family owned Chinese restaurant in the coral lamdinds Publix area is so much nicer and the food is great!
