My husband and I got our wedding cake last June from Sweets to You. We had no problems at all with the cake or their service. We were not served any cake at our reception besides what we fed to each other after we first cut into it. Not the bakerys fault obviously just an issue with the venue. Needless to say, we were very much looking forward to our first anniversary so we could finally enjoy our wedding cake. We opted for the gift certificate for one fresh cake on our anniversary instead of keeping the top tier in our freezer. Well we are obviously regretting this decision. Had we known a bakery that had been in business almost 20 years would be closed by our first anniversary we would have gladly eaten a freezer burnt cake. I was able to find the owner on Facebook through a page for the bakery which still lists their old location as open. I contacted her on May 31st as our anniversary was on June 12th. She let me know that the location was closed but she was still taking orders and making them in her home. Well once I replied to this letting her know that I wanted to order my "free" anniversary cake, she stopped replying. I say "free" because this is obviously built in to the cost of the original cake. We opted not to have a top tier in order to get a fresh one. My guess is that realizing she would not be paid again for this cake she wanted nothing to do with it. She finally answered on June 8th, to inform me that she will be out of town until the 22nd. Seriously? You run a bakery that specializes in wedding cakes and you are going out of town during the most popular month for weddings? Im not surprised at all that this bakery has gone out of business as they clearly lack any customer service skills.

I was very pleased with our wedding cake. We shopped around for the right bakery, and finally found Sweets to you by Ginger. We were impressed with the wide selection of cakes to try at the tasting, and they were all so delicious that it was hard to pick which flavors to go with. We eventually went with two flavors: Spice cake with cream cheese filling and buttercream frosting, and white cake with raspberry filling and buttercream frosting. Both types of cake were AMAZING. We especially loved the raspberry filling and their buttercream frosting was delicious. The only thing that we werent happy with was the way the cake looked. We chose a 3 tiered cake with a large pumpkin shaped base and a small pumpkin as the top layer for our fall wedding. The middle tier was slanted and the pumpkin on top ended up being slanted as well and it did not look good. Also, the pumpkin shape was more boxy than we would have liked. But as far as taste goes, BEST CAKE AROUND!!!

I ordered my wedding cake from Sweets to You and the day of my cake was so beautiful and delicious, beyond what I had invisioned. On my 1 year anniversary I got the complimentary topper recreated and it was wonderful as well. My second anniversary is coming up in a week and I have decided to surprise my husband with our topper cake again...I think this has become a new yearly tradition for us and who wouldnt love to have an excuse to get a Sweets to you cake yearly!!! I would highly recommend their wedding cakes and their service is wonderful as well!!!

I live in lower Delaware and it is defiantly worth a trip to Gingers for your special occasions. The cakes are the freshest most beautiful creations. Everything is so yummy from the petite fours to the tomato pie. We celebrate every family occasion with Gingers. They are excellent!
