I do not normally write reviews for restaurants I visit. Good or bad. The good ones I promote by word of mouth, giving recommendations to friends and acquaintances. However, in this case, I had to make an exception. Ill try to summarize the experience: We made reservations, for my wedding anniversary dinner, with my family - a party of five. We arrived 10 minutes early, had no problem with early seating because the place was half empty. Which was great for us. Our waiter was pleasant and took our order right away, as we were quite hungry. The starters came in a reasonable amount of time. The family chatted away. We were having a good time. Then we realize that our main course had not arrived yet. We also noticed a party of ten and another party of four, who had been seated some time after us, had already made their way through most of their main course and ours had not arrived yet. I looked a my watch and discovered that we had been seated over an hour and had not receive our main course yet. I asked the waiter for the manager to find out what the issue was. She came to our table some 10 minutes or so later. During that time, four or the five main dishes that we ordered came out from the kitchen. I asked her, how long does it usually take to serve the main courses we ordered. She said it could take up to 25 minutes. I told her we had been waiting for almost one hour for the main course. She made some excuses about this being a busy season and these things can happen (as I stated before - the restaurant was half empty - but I did not bother to argue that point). I expressed how disappointing this was, especially since this was my 20th Anniversary. She spouted more excuses and said she needed to confirm the time that the order was taken with the waiter. Totally neglecting the fact that I had told her we waited about 1 hour for the main course. Nor did she offer even a meager apology for inconveniencing us. Saketumi, really did sock it to me tonight. There is absolutely no chance that I will be returning to this restaurant in the future. A truly disappointing experience.

I have eaten here many times-the food is mediocre but the atmosphere is clean. My neighbor works there so we have girls night out and take-out and even have ordered for parties at home. I will never step foot in that restaurant again after how I was treated last night. We were celebrating my daughter;s successful school year so at 5:45 we entered the restaurant for sushi Happy Hour. Donnie told us that that happy hour only included a small group of approx. 5 tables. These tables were all full so we could not get the specials at any other tablehethen was rude and told me I could go look for a table by myself or stand there and wait for one of those tables to empty-I guess staring the current occupants down?? I then asked if we could just be seated elsewhere and wait, leaving our name. He said no, happy hour is almost over so we would not be able to give you those specials after 6 even though we arrived and checked in at the restaurant 15 min. prior to that. I explained that I had been here several times this year and even witnesses others being seated near the tables in question and received the special - he said yes but not today. I asked if that privilege was reserved for certain people and he said YES. Very humiliated by his treatment!!! The cultured pearl and Sting Rays are just down the road and have great Happy hours! We left and went to eat at the Tokyo Steak House -my daughter had her sushi and we had great filets with deserts =all for a much better price. They have lost any business or recommendations from me!-Lisa Rohlfing

I ordered the saketumi appetizer platter. DONT MAKE MY MISTAKE!!! It came with an assortment of greasy food. The two egg rolls dripped grease onto my lap when I took a bite. The dumpling looking things tasted like ...urine (for lack of a better word) The wontons were decent but the sauces that came with the platter did not compliment the food at all! After we got that platter...we paid and left to go order real food at the Tokyo steakhouse. Their food is a bit fresher. And costs less. That platter cost 15$ . when for 12$ we could have gotten 3 cali sushi rolls or (5 bucks more) an entertaining hibachi meal from the steakhouse. Wont be going to the saketumi restaurant again.

Called and asked where they get the meat. The answer was not local which was a plus for me beacuse I do not suport any of the cagged chickens on the Eastern Shore only Organic free range not being locked away in a barn with no lights and pumped with rSGB hormones. They said it is shipped in. This can mean from anywhere like overseas like Walmart and other big box stores. I thought with the prices it would be Non GMO. Went in had dinner the price was outrageous!!! Called in to ask what oil is used they stated Soybean Oil THIS IS GMO. They charge enough to use Organic Coconut oil but do not. Knowing what oil is used has made me stay away because I do not support GMO.

We just finished up dinner and I had the sushi/sashimi platter is was very good everything was fresh and skillfully prepared. My wife had the dynamite roll and did not care for it . She did enjoy her Miso soup very much tho. My daughter and her friend who are 11 had the calamari appetizer and each had a California roll and were very happy with their food. I would reiterate something someone else posted about happy hour we were not informed but I understand its at the bar only? With two children along that was not possible for us to do so I question the fairness of the "Happy Hour" .

EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED. THE SUSHI WAS TERRIBLE. I ate their for the first time last week. Anyone who knows anything about Sushi knows that this place is not even close to good sushi. Nothing was fresh. The wasabi was soo old I could eat a whole thing of it and not feel anything. I dont know how it is even possible but even the green tea was bad. The service was not the best either. The only positive was the atmosphere? Do not waste your money here. If you want excellent sushi try oc wasabi or blue fish in ocean city, md (only 30 min from rehoboth).

My 9 month old daughter was in her car seat asleep. I wanted to sit at the high tops and put her carrier on the floor. There was no one in there and the bartender asked me to leave. He said happy hour was a big promotion. It was 3pm and I said happy hour doesnt start for a hour I just want to eat a quick roll and have a drink and Ill be gone by four. He wouldnt budge and asked me to leave. I procedded to call the manager from my car and she said the same thing. Not family friendly at all and apparently cannot tell time.
