This restaurant is on Route 896 northbound. From 896 southbound, one would have to turn left on Old East Chestnut Hill Road and take the side entrance. This is a restaurant with an identity crisis. The sign on the front says "Mad Macs". A sign out by the road says "Matildas" and there is also a less-noticeable "Matildas" on the door, but aside from those, you couldnt tell that the building houses both restaurants. The restaurant menu is roughly half Mad Macs and half Matildas. I wish theyd developed the Matildas side of it more. There wasnt anything in there that was particularly Australian. Regardless of the above concerns, I thought the food was very good. The tequila lime chicken nachos had more than enough cheese and toppings, and the cheese they used tasted a cut above the typical nacho cheese. The BBQ pork quesadillas were pretty good too. Prices, which are over $10 for most entrees, are on the high side, but in this case, you may actually be getting what you paid for. The server was also very nice and helpful, and came to check on us often enough. The main downside right now is the restaurant is under renovation, so parts of it, including the restroom at times, may be closed off. Id give it a few more weeks before going there again.

Ordered online for in-store pick-up and was extremely disappointed. We arrived at the store at the time that the order was supposed to be ready, and the store had not yet even checked the online orders that could very clearly be seen sitting on the printer. We waited at the store for 20-30 minutes for the order to be filled (when the order finally was done, no one came over to inform us, the bag was placed behind the counter and sat there for 5-10 minutes before we eventually saw it and asked the hostess if that was our food). While we were waiting for the food to be done the staff tried to convince us that the order still needed to be paid for, even though we could clearly see the Do NOT Charge message listed on the receipt (and pre-paying online was the only option when you select in-store pick-up). The burger was good, but the mac and cheese was hugely disappointing. Several people tried it, and proceeded to spit it out before we ended up throwing it away. The store was not at all busy, and there were no obvious reasons for the delay other than the staff simply not paying attention. Overall, we were hugely disappointed with our first Mad Macs experience, and are extremely unlikely either to return or to recommend it to anyone.

I moved here from CT, it was my BF birthday so one places I havent been to yet is Mad Macs and mac n cheese is my fav. I asked around some gave good talk about it some didnt. So you have to try out places yourself before you judge. I went sat ordered a appetizer loaded potato bites, they looked so good when brought to the table, my family and I started eating and the middle was completely frozen fried on the outside but the middle well... Not a good start for the first time being in this place. Then dinner came burger and fries cant go wrong with that, chicken tacos another cant go wrong, my meal lobster mac n cheese, the mac and cheese had no taste plain but the lobster was a nice size bites and my temperature of it was warm like it had been sitting (room temp). Not a very happy customer. I dont think I will return. Not a good fist impression.

I am new to this, so please bear with me. This has been the second time that I had visited Matildas restaurant. I live in PA. My two children were with me the first time, so they chose Matildas again. My first Son had a burger. He loved it! My other Son had Mac & Cheese. I had to taste it. It was loaded with good quality cheeses. I had the Fish & Chips beer battered. The fish was cook to perfection, as were the chips. Slaw was homemade. For dessert we all shared the "House Specialty", medium size chocolate bunt cake with two large scoops of ice cream, and topped with a swirl of whipped cream! Enough for three! Overall I must say, the food was great, the waitress was very attentive. The place was very clean. If you are even near the Newark,DE area, try them out. You will be very happy!!!

I have been to Australia before, and loved the kangaroo when I was there. I was wishing to share that experience with my now husband. We found this place, and gave it a shot. While most of the menu was your pretty standard, run of the mill chain restaurant food, there were a few items that stood out. The emu, coconut shrimp and kangaroo trio. It was pretty good. However, the true gem this place serves isnt even on the menu! It is their Kangaroo steak served with a demi glaze type sauce. Get it medium rare, and experience a little bit of heaven. It is truly like I remembered it to be. Thank to Matildas, I dont have to fly halfway around the world to get great kangaroo.

WATCH BILLING! Am customer member. 1) Birthday 2/1 coupon only got $15 credit on higher priced meal. 2) Charged full price "Happy Hour" drink ordered 6pm, rung up like 7:04 right after cut off; Signs outside and ALL DR tables said discounted, but waitress for :40 said not, then was. Got 6pm order at 6:40! 3) Hamburger advetrised at 1/2 price. In bar we asked if that incl one we thought wanted. He said "yes", but at bill said was not discounted as was "Their" Burger. 4) Bought several 2/1 $15 on $30 meals for us and son, but twice charged ADDITIONAL $15 each. Paid $15 + $17 coupon + "discount" for 2 $17 crab meals. NEVER GOT MONEY BACK OR RETURN CALLS!

It was recomended to me when I was staying in the area for business. I ordered a Medium rare Ribeye steak and received a Microwaved siroloin that was cooked in the middle and tough. Ribeye is not tough with all the fat it has. I guess they defrosted a steak in the microwave too long. I told the waiteress that it ordered medium rare ribeye and she came back and said that the manager said I got what I ordered and they could not gurantee medium rare. Very disappointed. I ate the fies and left most of the steak, they still charged me the full amount. I still paid since my company pays for my meals. I bought a hamburger next door at Mcdonalds afterwards.

Very bad experience here. First off, the waitresss breasts were popping out of her shirt. Very unprofessional. She never wrote our order down, so therefore of course it came out wrong. Next, about 20 minutes later, she came over to our table and said that because the restaurant was "busy" when there was only about 20 people, she asked if it was okay that our MEALS were brought out BEFORE our appetizers. We said absolutely not. Minutes later, our appetizers came and minutes after so did our meals. The burgers were cold, dry, and the buns were soggy. Extremely disappointed in this restaurant. Would absolutely NOT recommend this restaurant.

A group of us made the mistake of going there when a Hockey game was being televised. The bar was loud (of course) and the wait for service was ridiculous! Almost 45 minutes. Ice tea was just hot tea poured over ice -- so it was watered down and horrible for my friends. Food was passible! I asked for tartar sauce and the waitress brought cole slaw and thought it was tartar sauce! Clearly a college student who was not a food major!!!! We left a small tip as the pace of food delivery was really not her fault! We wont go back!!!!!!!!!!!!
