So I should have written this review months back.. it is because of my last experience at Mcglynns Dover that I am still insisting on writing my review now. The last time I visited there I literally sat in front of the POS were orders are put in, and a bartender by the name of Jamie literally ignored me for over 15 minutes. She was putting in orders with tunnel vision or deliberately ignoring me and instead joking around with the other bartenders. Then after some period of time my husband walked in and sat down next to me and bartender Jamie within 5 minutes asked him for his order, got him a beer and still continued to ignore me. I was furious by this time and I refused to have her help me with anything. Luckily a very competent Nolin (apologies for any spelling errors) came to assist me with my dinning experience. He was basically running the show behind the bar and still managed to help us unlike Jamie (Note: This was a very busy night). So after having charming Nolin help me and my husband out. I tried to move forward with our night and have dinner. So we ordered food and I chose the Crab Chowder. Now let me start this part off by saying I understand that it being later in the evening some of the cooks are probably eager to close up and go home and not as prone to keep up quality of food. Because I got a bowl of crab soup that was suppose to consist of potato, veggies, corn and crab, but instead got nothing but the soup base with no chunks of anything. Now Jamie was the closest bartender within ear shot. She looked at my soup and said plainly "Thats the way the soup looks everytime I get it" and dismissed my complaint all together and walked away without offering any help. There was another bartender named Gabby who nicely took my disappointment seriously and brought me back a delicious bowl of the crab soup I had looked forward to based on the description in their menu. Based of what little care I got from this bartender Jamie though, I refuse to go back to Mcglynns anytime someone recommends going there for dinner or an outing. I ALWAYS refer going somewhere else. Why would I go somewhere where my buisness is not appreciated and then tip the bartender for ignoring me the whole night? I am a bartender myself and I will say without a shred of a doubt. Jamie is the worst bartender ever because she has absolutely zero customer service competency I myself get swamped with customer at my bar and I still make a great effort to greet and at least acknowledge a customer and make them feel appreciated. Its not that hard... She should take a remedial course and re-trained on how to do her job. I also rate this location so poorly because management seems to think this lacking bartender is a good fit. Despite the usually delicious food, other great bartenders, and great food/ drink specials I cannot award this place anymore stars. And let me lastly add that Bigger, and Blonder are definitely not always better.

The first time I went, it was late night but my service was impeccable for how busy they were. The bar was packed so I was sat in the dining room. The wings werent great, but the homemade tater tots with crab were good. The Cajun aoli was to salty for me to enjoy plus when I think Cajun I imagine a certain kick. My recent visit today, I sat at the bar. For a while both bartenders ignored me. But I will explain further... I sat down my drink order was placed and I received a menu. I decided on clam strips for an appetizer. I received them in a timely manner, cool. But my beer sat nearly empty for quite some time, while both bartenders talked with patrons around me. Finally I was asked for a refill. I also ordered a Caesar salad with steak and cup of crab and corn chowder. I didnt receive any eating utensils. When my food came out there, there wasnt any dressing on my salad and the utensils I was given were dirty. The soup was great! That was truly a highlight! The Caesar dressing is homemade, but it didnt have the punch of a typical Caesar dressing so it wasnt my cup of tea. It was sweet which is atypical. I wont come here to sit at the bar, I dont like to be ignored and I like for my drink refills to come in a timely manner. I gave 3 stars as an average of both visits. But my recent visit would get 1

Love the lake view and was looking forward to a special meal. Although the food was good, everything was too cool. You expect rare prime rib to not be hot. The butter was so hard it wouldnt melt on the cornbread or mashed potatoes. The major turn-off though was the noise level. They seated us in the bar area and it was so loud that we couldnt hear each other speak. I couldnt wait to get out of there! In fact, I left my husband to deal with the payment and went outside and, although our dinner arrived promptly and our server checked in with us several times, waiting for the bill and making the payment took longer than our dinner.

Great drink specials and week night deals but that cannot make up for the atrocious service that comes with it. I always have a problem at night. I believe its because Im a college student or African American or both but I know I am never given the chance to behave rudely to the employees there before they let it be known that they dont want to serve us. The manager is usually understanding so thats a plus. But the waiters and bartenders def dont want your business if you skin doesnt match theirs. Sad yet true in most cases when it come to this establishment

What an awful experience. Food was terrible and service sucked. Had the house special roast beef sandwich and sent it back because the roll was soggy, the meat was tough, chewy, and sliced way too thick, the cheese wasnt melted and it was just a pile of mess. The worst part was that it wasnt even busy. No manager came to the table to apologize, but the server did take both my girlfriends sandwich and mine off of the bill. Also, the server forgot my girlfriends blue moon. What a nightmare! Im never going back there again!

I have dined here before with slow service. So its been a while and I decided to try again. I had a dinner salad and they were very skimpy with the greens for the salad. unless your in the mood for a side salad size meal dont order a salad here. The service seemed to be a bit slow for alcohol drinks, noticed lots of happy conversation between bartender and servers. I did not have a very good service and dining experience this night.

this was my 2nd try @ McGlynns . The 1st time was a week or so after the"Grand Opening and we were amazed at how poor the food and service was. my 2nd try was this past Saturday and i havent seen any improvements, the crowd was light and the service was horrible and the food was mediocre at best ( not to mention our server forgot to part of our order). for my money 33 West is EXCELLENT! try it for yourself
