This evening we went for dinner and it seemed as if they were understaffed. There was a single person waiting on all the people in our area of the old Victorian built home. There was live instrumental music playing in the background. The young gentleman that sat us and got us our waters to start was very polite and prompt. Then the wait began. As we said they seemed to be understaffed this evening and our waitress was a little frantic when waiting on tables. She was very polite, but spread too thin. We ordered our food and waited for approx. 45 minutes for it to come from the kitchen. We waited another 5 minutes for requested condiments. Out of the three items ordered, no one in our group really enjoyed the food. Specifically the "Our Special Blend of Seasoning" used on our Grey Fox burgers did not impress. The thin two patty burgers were not juicy since you are not allowed to choose the Doneness of the Fresh, Never Frozen blend of beef. We did not really care for the bun of the burger due to its overly dry crusty nature. Furthermore the pricing on their website did not match the pricing in the menu at the establishment. Tables around us seem to have several issues related to items coming from the kitchen or drinks being refilled at the time of their meals. Not sure if this was due to the large group that had arrived upstairs prior to our arrival. Sadly enough for the prices we were not impressed.

I went with a group for a holiday lunch and this place blew me away. It was great! The only downside was the temperature, but one could expect an old building like many you find in downtown Dover to not be airtight. The radiators seemed to be on full blast and after everyone arrived, it warmed up in our area. We ordered 3 orders of tots, one person ordered a soup, and we all got lunch entrees. The tots are to DIE for. They were superb. Lots of flavor, lots of cheese, and very hot. They are a must if you visit. I ordered a prime rib sandwich special that was so flavorful and delicious. I asked for a side of coleslaw which was a good choice because it was fresh and crisp. Other folks who ordered the pasta salad as a side didnt like it, but pasta salad can be very controversial in preparation and ingredients. Everyone enjoyed their meals overall and we had a wonderful waitress, though her name escapes me. She did a great job and took great care of us.

We ate here several times with family and friends. The newly, renovated, historical building - with upscale funk - is located in a great neighborhood in the Capital District of Dover. The dining rooms are each unique, and we equally enjoyed the privacy of the upstairs dining and the camraderie of the bar/entertainment areas and downstairs dining rooms. The only area we havent tried yet is the outdoor patio! The staff graciously accommodated our large party request during a bustling evening, and dinner service was excellent. The drinks are cold, salads are fresh, the Beef Wellington was cooked to perfection, The Tuna Entree was also prepared perfectly - with a beautiful seared crust, there wasnt one dish that we had that wasnt prepared spot on. Prices are reasonable and we most definitely are looking forward to returning - possibly for a scrumptious Sunday Brunch! Thanks Grey Foxe for providing Dover with this dining treasure.

Nothing I say here can accurately depict how amazing this place is ! The food is out of this world and phenomenal. The staff was extremely friendly and thorough! The beer list is fantastic and the setting inside the old home converted restaurant offers an ambiance second to none. Skip the commercial , chain eateries and stick to real restaurants such as this. I had the pleasure of meeting the owners and they were extremely kind. I was from out of the area going through on a business trip and stopped here at the recommendation of locals. And boy was I not let down. Cant wait to be back in Delaware again to stop here. I cant speak highly enough of his place. Its really something special !

Brunch food at lunch paced service. Drinks & food were up fast. Server was as friendly as he was professional. Pictured are a mimosa & a "MANmosa" which was a shandy made with Dogfish Head Brewery Namaste & oj. Bf said his steak was a little salty & our sides got misplated, but we just swapped items. might had been a bigger deal if we werent in a relationship. didnt get picture of food cos we were hungry. The decor was cosy & gorgeous, the radiators & fireplace glowing & the dining rooms arranged as it would in pre midcentury modern homes. improved vastly from its former last days as wt smithers, the architecture still stands, but is less of a 1am place, but a more of a 7pm dinner one.

My boyfriend and his coworker had been raving about this place for a while, and we finally got a group together to go. The food was amazing. I had a grilled white fish dish. First off, I was not expecting such a huge portion of fish, which was really nice. It was very flavorful. I also had the herbed rice, and the garlic potatoes. They were absolutely delicious. Everyone else got a burger at my table, and they were in love. The only complaint they had was the vodka in their martinis wasnt very good quality (but Im a beer drinker so I wasnt bothered. I was happy to see local craft breweries on tap), but other than that, we all loved the food. Will definitely be coming back!

When we first walked in, we felt it was very upscale and somewhat exclusively a date spot. But as we walked we discovered a more casual bar area and immediately stopped the hostess from seating us and sat at the bar (we just werent in the mood for a sit down meal and preferred the bar area). The beer selection here is above average and they have great deals. There are $4-$5 flights which are about 20 oz total and other daily specials. The food is also pretty good. Its a little pricy but they do have some cheap burgers in the $10- $15 range

Went to lunch with a group of 6 ppl. Service was ok, took almost 50 minutes to get food. But what really topped it off, was that the shirimp I order as an add on to my salad cost more than the salad! When I ask the waitress if she could look into it, she simply said that theres nothing she could do. Even if the price didnt change, I would have appreciated it if she at least consulted it with a manager. Prices do not match the quality of food at all. If going to lunch, go somewhere else.

After having a terrible experience at a restaurant around the corner from here, this spot was a breath of fresh air!!! The staff was extremely friendly and very welcoming! The restaurant is an old house that was converted and is very charming!! The food is amazing and very well priced. And you cant beat their drink specials!! I highly recommend trying them out!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We dined at Grey Fox Grille after a Saturday of hiking and exploring the Dover, DE area. Particularly appealing were local-ingrident infused burgers. Both of us personally crafted our burgers to our taste and enjoyed a beverage; we also both enjoyed the seasoned tater tots. Overall, good food in a comfortable environment and cozy building. Also, neat wine flights!
